Cagayan de Oro's environs is always a place for the outdoorsy people - adventurers, travelers, bikers, riders, hikers, joggers, rafters, kayakers, canoers, boat-paddlers, nature lovers, etc. Almost everywhere one goes, it has countless breathtaking & scenic views of mountains, forests, hills, trails, cliffs, ravines, canyons, waterfalls, rivers & the sea. Just near the city center, the terrain immediately rises and panoramic views abound. It has many leisure areas, nature parks, and even protected forest & nature reserves within the city & by a short distance just outside it in Misamis Oriental & Bukidnon. Amazingly, these are in stark contrast to the highrises in its progressive commercial districts & the many manufacturing plants in the industrial areas of this growing metropolis. And the people are really hospitable. I really enjoy watching your travel videos.

I spent the first 10 years of my life in Mindanao then we moved to Honolulu, HI. I have always wanted to go to Cagayan de Oro, unfortunately, I never made it. I lived in Bukidnon for about a year near Valencia/Malaybalay when I was a kid. Bukidnon reminds of the Island of Kauai in Hawaii. I now live in Los Angeles, CA and an avid cyclist. I would like to do what you are doing and that is touring Mindanao on a bike. Ride safe and I will watch your posts that make me feel i am there. Love cycling. I'll be watching your posts.
