As a bike commuter, number one problem for bike lanes are when motorcycles use it as a "freeway" of some sort to beat the traffic even if its separated by plantboxes/orange cones. Its often a cause for road crashes because most motorcycles swerve in and out anytime without even checking for bikers coming in contact. Other cities along with the MMDA should be strict with motorcycles and fine them just like Quezon City's ordinance. Its hard to convince people to go bike commuting when these types of risk are prevalent.
Bike lanes cannot exist in vacuum. A holistic approach is needed. Only when motorcycles have dedicated lanes will they stay out of bike lanes. Only when buses and jeepneys have proper terminals will they stop using the bike lines to pick up passengers. Only when proper sidewalks are built will pedestrians stop walking in bike lanes. Nagbibike ako sa Metro Manila since 2010, pati bike na ginagamit ko ngayon sa bike to work, since 2010 ko rin sya binili, pero dati mostly weekends lang byahe ko. Pero nung 2021, nagstart ako bike to work from Tandang Sora QC to Taft Manila 15km mga 4-5 times kada week.
Urban rides are difficult, exhausting, and dangerous. Kudos to Rappler for doing this! I hope people will take time to watch this to understand the daily lives of us bike commuters
What an awesome effort. As a cyclist, I know it is not easy to ride 120k in Metro Manila. I love what you did, highlighting the cycling infrustructure in our Capital and the fact that there is so much more to be done to promote cycling as a mode of transport. Your feature show's that we are a long way off.

Finally. The documentary I was waiting for. Malaki ang problema ng Manila when it comes to bike lanes. Maraming nakaharang, pinipilahan din ng mga motorcycles. Overall, hindi bike friendly ang Manila
@@riptidegg tell me what we don't know about the dangers of biking on public roads especially in urban areas at wala sapat na infra ang maynila para sa bike lanes (this is common knowledge)..pls tell me what point I am missing.
Ive been bike commuting since 2014. Before the pandemic hit, bike lanes are the white line at the side of the car lane. Had 3 major crashes 1 swiped by a car 2 hit by a taxi 3 fell in a large pot hole. Didn't stop me still bike commuting. Rain or shine. Of course i also love those epic weekend long rides. Keep pedaling stay safe bikers.
Wow! Navigating 120km of city traffic was no easy feat! Glad you finished it safely. This is easily among my favorite cycling-related vids in recent memory. Hats off!
Awesome video documentary, it's crazy to also think that doing a 123 km ride takes about over 10 hours of riding due to the lack of bike lanes and traffic as well. I remember this comparing when I rode before in Shanghai, China all the roads that we went had separated bike lanes and not just paint but either rails or mini islands. We rode almost the same distance but only taking up to 5 to 6 hours. Imagine if we have this development for bikers, it will really benefit those who are bike commuting and riders in general with also the safety that we deserve.
The real problem in metro manila is Poor URBAN PLANNING government officials during the earlier period of development they failed to anticipate that within 25-50 years the population in the Metro will grow into gargantuan proportion, the common roads we are using is the same road used in the 1950's to present. Ginawa yung mga daanan na iyun only sa mga motor vehicle only that time and no designated lane for bicycle in mind. That's why common roads like in EDSA kahit anu pang mga traffic scheme ang gawin dyan hinde na titino pa, and wala ng room for expansion, it will only get worse sa dami ba naman ng bagong sasakyan every month na dumadating at the same time yung dami ng tao from the province na pumupunta ng metro manila para mag trabaho and eventually mag settle na rin ng family, Over saturated na and volume ng tao.
@@milarabeltran8248 I agree! Putting bike lanes is being done simultaneously with urban planning. These lanes shouldnt be placed forcibly as setbacks (lack of) for properties have already encroached these roads.
great documentary on the condition of bikes lanes around the cities. I am a weekend cyclist and a once a week bike commuter to work from QC to Manila. LGUs should step up their plans for a friendly and safe bike lanes to encourage more people to use bike and other transport alternatives. Hope the LGUs with failing grades start to rethink their plans. If only LGUs be stricter with motorcycles entering the bike lanes. Thank you for this documentary.
Kudos to Ms. Iya and Rappler team. Great documentary. clearly an eye opener (hopefully) to those who lead every LGU on how to improve cycling experience, may it be for leisure, errands and most especially bike commutes.👏
Since year 2002 i always ride my bike, since my father was also a biker, i ride my bike every weekend on trails/mountains and also ride my bike for everyday commute... Good job! 🚴🚴🚴 Anyways, sana maayos lahat in the near future, for me mas trip ko bike commute. Safe ride to all.😎🤙 Nice documentary!😊
Great Docu, been waiting a long while for this. Thanks Ms. Iya and the whole team for making this, hope this would be a wake up call for all the LGU's to continue to improve their biking infra's👌👌👌
I've been cycling to work for a little over two years as I'm typing this comment and I will say that cycle commuting beats taking the public transport any day of the week especially during rush hour. You save up on fare, you burn calories and have a constructive way to release that stress. I also cycle long distance way outside the NCR for years and all I can say from both as a cycle commuter and as a hobby cyclist is the road conditions in the NCR is dangerous. As you can see in the vid, there are lots of obstacles that would easily injure a cyclist if they're not careful, not to mention how some other road users don't pay attention to cyclists. I would say that the most dangerous thing a cyclist faces in the imperial capital are other road users. I would also like to say that Iya is a seasoned cyclist and is riding in the most ideal condition: she's on a road bike and is not carrying anything on her. She made that century ride look easy. But more on the topic, cycling in the provinces is a lot better than riding in the NCR. All I can say to cycle commuters or would be cycle commuters is to always ride defensively and keep your head on a swivel. Remember, having the right of way don't mean anything if you're up against 2000 plus pounds of metal travelling at speed. Good documentary Rappler! EDIT: I would say that the worst road to cycle at is Taft Avenue in Manila and both East and West Service Roads from Pasay to Alabang. The best roads to cycle at are C6, BGC and around the UP Diliman Campus. Another tip for new cyclists is to get some time in the saddle and start in peaceful roads first then work your way up. You'll be surprised that you'll develop a sixth sense in the long run. I would also like to say that Iya did the NCR loop, probably one of the most toxic bike routes known in the cycling community. Stay awesome Iya!
Everything is on point. As a biker, mga challenges talaga are... 1. Road condition 2. Obstructions (ginawang parking, people na ginawa ng terminal and bike lane and may iba pang galit pag pinaalis mo, haha...) 3. Motorist ( PUV na biglang kakainin ang bike lane para mag baba and sakay, yung ibang drivers kahit papano, they give space, but others talaga whole bike lane kakainin. I don't know why but very unsafe talaga, sobrang daming ganyan lalo na mga tricycle, and pinaka LAST 😆, yung pollution ng mga lumang sasakyan talaga, I don't know pano sila nakaka pasa sa mga "emission test".... Anyway, just always be safe, safer and safest! Always remember someone is waiting for you. Enjoy riding!!!
siklista lang ba may karapatan sa daan? right side is yung babaan side so kung doon nakaharang yung bike lane... what else. its like yung stupidity ng bike lane sa east ave... naka semento. so commuters who outnumber cyclists bumababa sa gitna ng daan.
@@bennybouken I don't see why we shouldn't blame people who are pushing for more car-friendly and more bike-hostile roads and infrastructure. They are definitely part of the problem. Improving public transportation won't make them leave their cars behind, and it won't make them ask for disincentives to driving.
@@Roxlimn why we shouldn't? you forgot about TNVs? they keep multiplying and will keep on multiplying because they think it'll ease the problem when in fact it just got worse.
I would never try cycling there. Noong pandemic lang ako nahilig sa bike at bike touring, so I tried going far like to Alabang since from Laguna ako. Went to Kawit, Cavite, too. I used to believe that every street of Metro Manila has a story and those are best captured by riding a bike. I just hope maayos lang tlga nila ung infra to make bikes a viable solution to get around
Pedal Assist/ebike dadami na despite of some misinformation or rather ignorance by some media outlets featuring ebike as etrikes na supposedly banned sa national highways.
While it seems the documentary is shot on a holiday or Sunday, Iya at 24:47 mark on the video was annoyed and even (in a normal way, napamura na) because of lack of road discipline of motorist. What more if she took the trip on a normal, rush hour day that our daily workers normally do. Kudos to the whole team for this very good documentary!
Maraming salamat po for the Documentary. Comment lang po for Ms. IYA GOZUM, for your safety, always fasten your helmet properly. As a bike commuter and cross-country Mt. Biker myself, experience ko na po ang sumemplang head-first, and napaka importante na naka fasten properly po ang helmets natin. Thanks po.
bike to work ako from marilao bulacan to manila, very stressful mag bike dahil sa mga jeepney , tricycle at bus drivers, pero nung strike ang jeep napakasarap mag bike along mc arthur highway at iisipin mo na lang na sana wala na lang sila sa kalsada for good
Pero ganun talaga may sasagi at sasagi sayo.
Great video, very informative and a true accountnof a cyclists experience, you should be commended as Rappler REPORTER OF THE YEAR for this documentary 🎉😊
This is definitely a great watch. I can imagine all the efforts poured in to come up with this very insightful report, great job. I've tried biking in all the featured routes in the vid, but never have I even thought of doing so in just one take. Thanks for giving me an idea there. Well done, Rappler Team.👍
Good content. Very honest and accurate. As a biker in Alabang, I agree that along the national hiway, cycling to work is the worst! haha.. specially during rush hour. I was amazed as you went through Manila S Rd, Putatan, Muntinlupa (92WV+2MH), which is the worst in my daily experience - Diving and cycling. I wish you well and I look forward to more educational and relevant updates. Kudos!
This is a good video for awareness. Hoping that Rappler can also make a video for motorcycle riding in Manila especially during checkpoints and the places where most riders apprehended by so called violations.
C6 is the ideal bike lane as it is wide and emergency vehicles can pass through. I hope Filipinos can have educational videos on TV, social media courtesy of our agency like DOTr on how to properly use the public roads, bike lanes, pedestrian lanes, trains including stations, ferry stations, loading/unloading areas, sidewalk etc. That bike lanes should never have any obstructions unless for purpose of emergencies. I started to use public road in 1994, when I was 12 as bike commute. I do not remember any fear with regard to any motorized vehicle as there were few during that time a speeding 4-wheel vehicle and motorcycle. Thank you Rappler for this content, I hope we have bigger budget for ease in access to mobility and public transportation as there are more than 90% of Filipinos who do not own a car. Thats about over 90M Filipinos. More accessibility for Filipinos who commute. We can be a truly rich country, if our politicians and millionaires can commute to work from home by using our public transportation.
This docu captures so well the joys of cycling and the horrors of bike commuting! I only learned how to bike a couple of years ago and bike when I can to errands, to leisure activities, etc but lately I've been feeling discouraged because bike lanes in my city have been dissplearing. C5 actually used to have a stretch of a wide, island segregated bike lane and as a newbie commuter, I used it to efficiently go to and from the city hall. But thank you for this docu, I learned so many things and feel encouraged to ride on wider roads now because I used to find them daunting! I'd bike so much more if the infrastructure were better. I want to move to QC!
Cyclist need to traverse busy congested traffic while being super careful around roads (man holes, uneven lanes, construction etc.) Thank you for making this video, informing us how's the biking experience in Metro Manila.
It would cost so little to put concrete barriers making protected bike lanes on virtually all significant roads in Manila and around and out of it. The truth is, the local and national government have zero interest in doing it.
The metro manila loop or NCR loop is more difficult to do than the laguna loop based on my experience. why? due to "Stress caused by heavy traffic" inside the city
Came across this while I was on my bike trainer and felt like I was getting a tour 😂. Great detailed documentation on the environmental condition for cycling in the Metro Manila area. Hopefully the information will be useful or change for the better when I visit the PH.
Pasig is now a terrible place to bike. For some reason, every motorist turns into an a-hole and most of them invade the bike lane without caution. I've been hit on the back of the head by an e-jeepney driver who went into the bike lane, and to think I was trying to be cautious. How ironic that Pasig spearheaded the installment of bike lanes for the frontliners and essential workers, but then completely abandoned it later on. Buti pa si Mayor Joy of QC. Maybe Vico should join her group chat for some tips on how to really run a city.
This was a fantastic documentary, well done!! 🎉 I especially appreciate that a female cyclist did it and you mentioned the extra dangers for women. Echoing other commenters in suggesting that you do this again in 5 years or so. Also suggesting that you point out which cities have a clear biking culture based on other infrastructure like repair stations and bike racks on all/most establishments
The less we use our cars the better for our health. Kung malapit lang rin, bike is the way to go.
Hi Iya, Thank you for doing this long ride for us and everyone and to show our government that there is a need to improve the bike infrastructures around the metro. GOOD JOB!!! Hope to see you around the cycling community to say my thanks personally hehe
Thank you for this documentary. I tried biking in Manila once, and Roxax Blvd. doesn't have any bike lane. You are right, almost none ang bike lane sa Manila. Pwede ba ma extend na din yung mabisita ng road condition like going North of Metro Manila? Meycauyan, Bocaue, Balagtas, Guiguinto, Malolos, then back to Pulilan, Plaridel, Sta. Maria?
Hi, there's actually a significant part of Roxas Boulevard that has bike lanes but instead on the sidewalk as two-way mixed-use paths for both pedestrians and cyclists. You can see it in the Dolomite Beach parts where there's pavement different from the sidewalk.
Eto yung part na makakasanayan mo na lang. leisure weekend rider here pero sa pagbabike ko may part na lalabas at lalabas ka talaga sa bike lane due to road condition or may malaking harang talaga like cars and other obstructions
Kudos to this documentary. Roxas Blvd has a bike lane, it is just inside those cobbled pedestrian street. It is truly hard to bike in the East Service Road....I used to train in the Tunasan, magandang training ground yun.
I "bike commute" 4 flat miles (6.5 kilometers) to work and 4 back home, daily in 20 minutes. 65 years old. But I've ridden 100 miles (160 kms) on open roads.
I've been a cycling enthisuast and have been bike commuting since 2017 before the pandemic hit, thankful tayo na may "somewhat" focus na yung mga LGUs sa mga siklista, still some drivers are very inconsiderate at rude pa den sa mga kapadyak naten. In some car groups even amongst people I know they still see cyclists as an "obstruction". This could be because of the "jempoys" na naging rampant during the height of the pandemic. In the end mutual respect amongst all road users at practicing our advocacy of "share-the-road" will be a culture na hinihintay naten na totally mag sink in... When that day comes, may lane o wala magiging safe ang daan naten sa Pinas for all types of commuters
Great video po! Just wondering if you had a bell/ringer...in my experience, it proves helpful in warning others of your presence instead of shouting "bike, bike!" Also, at least one small side mirror might improve your safety, as you are more aware if there is someone behind you. I daily a car but also regularly ride a bike. Keep up the good work and stay safe po!
Here in Muntinlupa you can see the lack of interest of the LGU on implementing cycling infrastructure. The only bike lanes i've seen is the ones implemented in Filinvest. Maybe what's contributing to this is the current infrastructure centered on motor vehicles, the road are already narrow to include a dedicated or shared cycling lane. But maybe someone from the LGU could read this comment.
44.5 Minutes of informative fun and entertainment!!! I tip my hat on you guys for this very informative and loaded with effort video. Anyway Godbless you and more power to your group.
Wow, really appreciate Manila for improving its biking infrastructure. My city, Bengaluru in India has similar population and area. But its a total disaster with dangerous congested roads with crazy drivers and a joke of bike infra. Unlike Manila where there is effort to improve, Bengaluru seems hopeless.
Greatly appreciate the video! Shows the challenges of bikers when using our roads. Motorist during the video were courteous. Tiempo lang siguro. Hahaha. Maybe you could do a follow up video on the whole stretch of Q.Ave to España Morayta. Also the whole stretch of Aurora Blvd from Katipunan ave to Malacanñang. Feeling mo nasa Centipede video game ka. 😝
Makati is one of the bike friendly cities in manila they have visible bike lane with barrier. And every sunday they close the whole ayala avenue from Salcedo-HV Dela Costa until West St. & Fonda St.
thanks for this content. it was really interesting to see as i want to bring my bike to Philippines and cycle around. ate just as your bio says on rappler , you were getting another shade darker as the video progressed lol.
Kahit walang paint or bike lane, you need to keep to the side, for your own safety. In lot of cities, bike lane are just implied. In Tokyo there is also no proper bike lanes. You just need to keep to the side.
Sana talaga may recognizably uniformed paint scheme ang bike lanes (red/orange perhaps). Then either i-elevate by half a foot from road level or lagyan ng barriers. Acceptable start na rin yun
Thank you young lady for risking your life to show us to show us how bad cycling is in Manila :) I wonder whether bike lanes make any sense at all in such a busy metropolis, considering that it creates a false sense of security when really it remains chaotic and nowhere are bikes given way. Perhaps it is better to remain vigilant and expect the worst all the time. Seems they tried to implement bike lanes but it is too costly, so it is unlikely this will ever change.
Bike lanes kasi have never been part of Urban planning, bikes were never considered as a mode of transport. Kaya mga bike lanes today are improvised, pinagkasya na lang, just to say may bike lane. Sa South Korea, bike lanes are part of Urban planning kaya ang ganda ng bike lanes doon, dedicated and safe. Improved public transport is the key here. Reliable and efficient public transport leads to lesser vehicles on the road. BTW, great job here. Lakas ni ate, 120km ride NCR loop. I'd rather go to Tagaytay or Quezon than do this kind of ride. I find it safer mag bike sa mga province.
I bike to work since 2013 via edsa from Taguig to Valenzuela. ok na ako sa mga motor sa bikelane since pre pandemic. di naman sila nambubusina para madaliin ka. wala naman silang magagawa dun. ang ayoko lang talaga is yung mga PUBus PUJeep at tricycles sila talaga obstacle course. isama mo na yung mga pedestrians na nasa kalsada nag aabang ng mga sasakyan. yan ang pinaka ayoko
Thank you for your video. I'd like to offer my insight as a regular cyclist on the streets of Manila. My main issues are that not many road users respect or understand the bike lane. In many instances the jeepney pulls up just outside the bike lane and the passengers on the footpath only have eyes for the jeepney and are OK to step straight into the path of an oncoming cyclist. Also, cars turning often ignore cyclists in the bike path. there needs to be a lot more education of motorists on the rights of bicycle users on the road. I notice also that near the start of your video you set of in the dark with no rear tail light. I don't know how motorists are supposed to see you? If the bike path is not physically seperated it's usually crowded with motor scooters at intersections. My expereince in all my many hours of cycling on the roads in Manila is that there is next to no enforcement of the laws about use of the bicycle lane. The only enforcement I have ever seen is at Quezon Circle. ....... I think it's improving a lot but there needs to be a lot more education of motorists and more enforcement with high penalties for offenders.
Just building more bike lanes isn't enough. The government needs to focus on making them safe, well-connected, and maintained. It's about quality over quantity. They should also invest in education and safety measures to encourage more people to cycle. Ultimately, it's about creating a biking-friendly environment that people actually want to use.
I wonder if there ought to have been a segment surveying the city ordinances on bike lanes (if they’re required, where). Also a survey on variances in the policies regarding them (are they all strictly off limits, in principle, to vehicles or is it simply a right of way or preference lane?) As a biker who drives too I will confess to being ignorant of what the policies are. Additionally, there are some bike lanes that are really problematic. On the east service road, driving my car and coming as close as I dare to oncoming traffic on the left hand side of my vehicle, I find that the right hand side of my vehicle takes up half of the bike lane. This leads me to think that the bike lane is a right of way lane on which motorists are expected to give way when a cyclist is passing). Kudos on the effort to draw attention to bike lanes and awareness for cyclist safety. Also how did this get past the pitch stage? Does rapper stand with cyclists in the city?
I share your sentiments, Metro Manila could do more to improve our bike lanes. I regularly bike commute along EDSA and I can't tell you how many times I almost crashed because of motorcyclists who suddenly swerved into the segregated bike lane without looking for bikers or cars who suddenly turned right or came out into EDSA without caring if there were cyclists on the bike lane. I even almost had my finger cut off because 3 motorcyclists on the bike lane suddenly stopped which didn't give me enough time for my brakes to stop me.
kudos, appreciate the effort . Just to nitpick, she is still protected by the orange motorcycle to "some" degree, so there are some points wherein encounters with "friendly" motorist was avoided. But overall great content 💯
Quite gutsy of your team for risking it all to report on the condition of biking in the metropolis. But no, thank you. I won’t even try. This only confirms how terrible the driving and commuting conditions are. I would strongly argue though, that wearing bright and light-colored clothing should aid better visibility and safety even during daytime. it should also help absorb less heat. But honestly, pedestrians have it even worse. Just being out there feels like an attack on your senses and overall safety.
Its hard to convince people to go bike commuting when these types of risk are prevalent.

Totoo to. Few kms in Manila pag nakabike feels like forever
Bike lanes cannot exist in vacuum. A holistic approach is needed. Only when motorcycles have dedicated lanes will they stay out of bike lanes. Only when buses and jeepneys have proper terminals will they stop using the bike lanes to pick up passengers. Only when proper sidewalks are built will pedestrians stop walking in bike lanes. I am an expat here in Manila and have been bike commuting 20km to/from work M-F for the last 3 years. Manila drivers, for the most part, are not hostile towards cyclists. They are actually very respectful. It is terrific that this video brings attention to the issues faced by Manila's cyclists. Cycling reduces traffic, air pollution, noise pollution, and improves fitness. It is one (big) part of the solution to Manila's #1 in the world traffic problem. But shiny new bike lanes cannot exist next to dilapidated sidewalks and crumbling roads. A holistic approach is needed.
Finally. The documentary I was waiting for. Malaki ang problema ng Manila when it comes to bike lanes. Maraming nakaharang, pinipilahan din ng mga motorcycles. Overall, hindi bike friendly ang Manila
I'm sorry, there is nothing new in this documemtary..anywhere in the world, biking on public roads is always risky.

Glad to see that the C6 bike path is still existing, it is one of the pre-pandemic bike lanes installed in 2019
Love how raw and relatable this documentary is - especially the Sparks Fly singing and the "mapapamura ka na lang" moments.
Alam nla yan kunyare bc lng 😅
great documentary on the condition of bikes lanes around the cities.
An in-depth yet relatable story. Rappler is really innovative in reporting societal issues. More infra-related stories like this please!
Thank you Iya for featuring MM's bike lane conditions. Can you also feature the bike lane status in Metro Cebu?
Thanks sa ganto, sana madami pa maencourage magbike commute around the Metro, RS palagi mga kapadyak
Mam/sir kahit sa kahabaan ng EDSA from Munomento To Taft. . . Grabe dyan. . .lalo sa rush hour. . .makikita nyo talaga.
Safe ride to all.😎🤙 Nice documentary!😊
a few thousand users vs millions?
Great Docu, been waiting a long while for this. Thanks Ms. Iya and the whole team for making this, hope this would be a wake up call for all the LGU's to continue to improve their biking infra's👌👌👌
As a new biker, I had to watch this from start to finish. It motivates me..
1. Road condition
2. Obstructions (ginawang parking, people na ginawa ng terminal and bike lane and may iba pang galit pag pinaalis mo, haha...)
3. Motorist ( PUV na biglang kakainin ang bike lane para mag baba and sakay, yung ibang drivers kahit papano, they give space, but others talaga whole bike lane kakainin. I don't know why but very unsafe talaga, sobrang daming ganyan lalo na mga tricycle, and pinaka LAST 😆, yung pollution ng mga lumang sasakyan talaga, I don't know pano sila nakaka pasa sa mga "emission test"....
Anyway, just always be safe, safer and safest! Always remember someone is waiting for you. Enjoy riding!!!
siklista lang ba may karapatan sa daan? right side is yung babaan side so kung doon nakaharang yung bike lane... what else. its like yung stupidity ng bike lane sa east ave... naka semento. so commuters who outnumber cyclists bumababa sa gitna ng daan.
can't blame them imo, this is why public transport should be imminently improved and people would stop bringing their car to go to work
@@bennybouken I don't see why we shouldn't blame people who are pushing for more car-friendly and more bike-hostile roads and infrastructure. They are definitely part of the problem. Improving public transportation won't make them leave their cars behind, and it won't make them ask for disincentives to driving.
@@RoxlimnYou're just gaslighting the fact the public transportation is still bad.
@@bennybouken Which part of what I said says public transportation isn't bad? You even know what gaslighting means, bruh?
@@Roxlimn why we shouldn't? you forgot about TNVs? they keep multiplying and will keep on multiplying because they think it'll ease the problem when in fact it just got worse.
I would never try cycling there. Noong pandemic lang ako nahilig sa bike at bike touring, so I tried going far like to Alabang since from Laguna ako. Went to Kawit, Cavite, too.
But sayang lang.

Never talaga naging bike-friendly ang Manila City.
Great video, very informative and a true accountnof a cyclists experience, you should be commended as Rappler REPORTER OF THE YEAR for this documentary 🎉😊
great domentary! thank you for opening the eyes of the Filipino on how bad the bike lane infrastructure is
This is definitely a great watch. I can imagine all the efforts poured in to come up with this very insightful report, great job.

I want to move to QC!
nice! more content like this please!
Such a Great Film of my home country,, Awesome Job to the reporter/Rider Iya.

Thank you for this documentary. I tried biking in Manila once, and Roxax Blvd. doesn't have any bike lane. You are right, almost none ang bike lane sa Manila.

Hi, there's actually a significant part of Roxas Boulevard that has bike lanes but instead on the sidewalk as two-way mixed-use paths for both pedestrians and cyclists. You can see it in the Dolomite Beach parts where there's pavement different from the sidewalk.

Nice! Maybe I'll try that route sometime. To me, I think Muntinlupa is the most unfriendly as far as bikers are concerned. Salamat po for sharing!
this is very helpful and an eye opener to our local govt official.. thank u for this docu
Mapapamura ka talaga, haha. This a great review of how bad our roads are for cyclists. Otherwise fantastic presentation. Raw and very informative.

I’d bike more if I have a motorcycle support team also. 😅

Greatly appreciate the video! Shows the challenges of bikers when using our roads. Motorist during the video were courteous. Tiempo lang siguro. Hahaha.

Thank you young lady for risking your life to show us to show us how bad cycling is in Manila :)
I wonder whether bike lanes make any sense at all in such a busy metropolis, considering that it creates a false sense of security when really it remains chaotic and nowhere are bikes given way.
GAling ng bikers Rappler hindi na digrasya keep it up :)
Also a survey on variances in the policies regarding them (are they all strictly off limits, in principle, to vehicles or is it simply a right of way or preference lane?)
As a biker who drives too I will confess to being ignorant of what the policies are.
WOW and yes Love yes Love yes
I share your sentiments, Metro Manila could do more to improve our bike lanes. I regularly bike commute along EDSA and I can't tell you how many times I almost crashed because of motorcyclists who suddenly swerved into the segregated bike lane without looking for bikers or cars who suddenly turned right or came out into EDSA without caring if there were cyclists on the bike lane. I even almost had my finger cut off because 3 motorcyclists on the bike lane suddenly stopped which didn't give me enough time for my brakes to stop me.
Not as bad years ago but still bad... Thanks for the documentary, we'll see how it progress in the next few years
