Thanks so much for this. What about the shaft input into the tractor? There is a pin and spring and it isn't coming together easily, after I had to get a replacement spring. Any idea what the specs are on that hardware, where to buy proper replacement?
I’m not sure what you are referring to. The tractor end of the PTO shaft? That either has a spring loaded button you press or a spring loaded collar you pull back to open the internal pin that locks into the groove on the tractor PTO shaft to prevent the implement shaft from slipping off. Those can be a pain to work with and hold the release while lining up on the tractor shaft. Make sure everything is well lubricated as that helps. Keep a coating of grease on your tractor PTO shaft too to help in sliding on.

What oil would you recommend?
The gearbox takes regular gear oil. SAE 90.
What’s the shear bolt size and grade?
On the PTO shaft input to the gearbox it is 3/8" by 3" long, grade 2.
