@Indevor i would suggest that you take it back as soon as possible so they can replace it for you if they can. Canon replaced mine and i never had the problem again, i think that they cant test all the cameras 100% when they come of the assembly line.
Is the battery older? Take the battery out and charge it fully. The battery may still be working when 100 %, but at lower levels may not have enough juice for operating the shutter. If that does not help, you could open the camera and turn the shutter around. But that is a bit of a specialist work, and will be most likely only a fix for a few weeks. Probably a replacement of the shutter.
+StockVideoFootage I took that specific camera back to canon and they replaced it. Then the second one did the same thing and they replaced it again.. so far the one i have had not given me any issues . Canon had great support luckily :)

@mehmetnayal . Maybe not Canon as a company but there are problems whit the 7D sadly . I would not buy this camera if i was to buy a new dslr .
