Those stratospheric training camps look great! But yeah, they must hurt like hell, especially in the very beginning, before any real acclimatization occurs. The price you gotta pay, I guess, to get that (natural/legal) hematocrit way up. Yeah, the prosciutto topping on the pizza is probably not doing you any favors (except for some great taste!), but the veggies ones on it make it not all that bad. 😉 BTW; EXCELLENT explanation of the higher muscular catabolic incidence at altitude (even during sleep!), and the need to try to counter that with as much diet and rest as possible to promote an anabolic state for the muscles. 👍
i did the perfect altitude camp by accident then, i tried to eat everything (wich was too much) before going home... on my restdays didnt do sh**, but smashed the long trainingrides
