    Remember kids, a rocket is a QCB weapon if you're brave enough.

    A fun thing to remember is that the Mimic Gun from the Pegasus License counts as a Launcher weapon (as well as every other type of ranged weapon at once) and while it does not benefit from weapon mods or core powers, it does benefit from talents and frame traits. Sure, you are putting your faith on a good D20 roll, but a Range 20 Damage 10 heavy weapon with seeking and ignoring armour and resistances that has Centimane and Stormbringer and whatever other talents you want layered on it is a frightening prospect.
    Hail to the Monarch, baby.

    The weapon mod adds Ordinance, which requires that you fire at the beginning of your turn. Firing a superheavy takes a full action, but does not require that it be at the start of your turn. This slightly adjusts their respective values, making Stabilizer somewhat more situational, and Pinaka slightly less restrictive compared to your analysis. Looking forward to what you've got to say about the Lich, and I would also like to see you go over the GMS weapons (and maybe systems), as there are enough good things lurking there that I feel go overlooked compared to the more specialized licenses.

    The Javelin Rockets pair very well with Storm Shaping or any other ability/attack that causes knockback or forces movement as you can push an enemy over the targeted zones to do extra damage

    There is a another SSC license with an AUX launcher at tier 1. The Viceroy is one of the main things twmpting me to Lancer as a system.

    From some digging I've done on the topic, I haven't found a direct source, but there's a lot of people who say the official ruling from the designer is that the Sharange can hit 2 targets on overwatch, as long as one of the targets is the one which triggered the reaction. It's the same principle as an area attack, which can hit multiple targets if they fit within its area, except that instead of an area, it's just got a range where you can pick 2 enemies of your choice to hit. Overwatch just forces the triggering enemy to be one of the targets you hit.
    Also, others have pointed out the Vijaya Rockets on the Mourning Cloak, but there's another aux launcher which is worth considering. It's a loading weapon, but the Missile Rack from GMS is an aux launcher, with 10 range and blast 1, so not a bad pick on a build which suits it.

      The ruling with overwatch attacks is it allows you to skirmish as normal with one target having to be triggering enemy since special features are added on hence why talents, special traits and effects can effect the target.

      @@WetzforLife That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the explanation of how the ruling works!

    The launchers you get from mourning cloak 1 are aux mounts, so viceroy aux/aux + aux/aux + heavy is valid. With the integral mount core bonus from GMS you can mount a 5th aux missile. Then with gunslinger 3, you can move the gunslinger die from 6 to 1 in a barrage and, because you reset the die before making the boosted attack, you can trigger I kill with my heart every round from round 2 on. Assuming you only barrage and always hit of course. Between the native acurracy on the Vijaya missiles, acurracy from Vangaurd 1, coaver ignoring from vangaurd 2, and overwatch being able to help make up for any missed shots, which vangaurd 3 helps with, we're actually pretty good on the hitting things front.
    It's a funny build but were very sad if we can't barrage, slightly sad if we can't get into threat 3, and are limited to whatever we put in our heavy mount in terms of doing anything beyond range 5.

      If you swap a couple of your Vijaya Rockets (the Mourning Cloak launcher) for the GMS Missile Rack, you've got some additional range, and splash damage. They're a 10 range aux mount missile with blast 1, and they're also +1 damage to each target compared with the Vijaya. All that said, they lack the accurate trait, and have the problem of being loading weapons, so the action economy needs to be considered there.

      @mobiuscoreindustries Месяц назад

      @@a-blivvy-yusyeah that is the thing. The missiles are far better weapons for damage dealing and even have a little bit of AOE but they do not hit quite as often and also need to be reloaded so if the goal is to build for IKWMH then you will want more reliable hits rather than more overall damage.

    • @a-blivvy-yus
      @a-blivvy-yus Месяц назад

      @@mobiuscoreindustries If you're dealing with closely-packed enemies (large numbers of grunts, for example), the blast radius means you'll potentially be landing 3 - 5 attacks per shot instead of the single target Vijaya. The extra range means you can start rolling earlier in a fight sometimes as well. As I said though, it's somewhat situational, so definitely not an "always better" option in either direction (although I'd agree that the vijaya rockets are more likely to be the better pick in most instances).

    • @mobiuscoreindustries
      @mobiuscoreindustries Месяц назад +1

      @@a-blivvy-yus to be fair if not running the gunslinger trait I would go for normal launchers. While less reliable they have tremendously more range and with vanguard you are probably already getting a lot put of em even on overwatches, betting that you will not be firing them both each round somewhat diluted the need to stabilize so it is useful to take if you have a non loading launcher and other actions you can take on your turn.
      For example I have an Iconoclast build that mostly uses the missile racks as overwatches because my turn is going to be spent role-playing as Palpatine anyways.

      I think monarch is a little more versatile just because of A) the massive range you have access to and B) the Viceroy you get with those same licenses
