I'm defiantly in the group that enjoy your walks. Life is more than just where you live, even when that can move you from place to place. Love your videos!
Rich and Fran, I feel that Narrowboating is an experience that includes more than cruising the cut! As you said there are so many things to experience along the canals! Speaking personally I like the balance of your VLOGs! You share a more complete experience with RUclips, "keeping it real" as they say. Besides, 15.7K viewers, I'd say you are doing something right! It's going to be 35.5c today and for many days to come! Mark from Colorado!
I think you strike a really good balance with canal-related content, walking, and of course eating. It's all visually interesting, and more engaging than just keeping to one subject. It certainly helps that the quality of the video itself is so good that the viewer never has to think about it.
We love your outlook on life. The fact that you are choosing to live on the canals is a byproduct of your adventurous spirits. Love the scene at the end with the cows, ducks and Archie.
Hey guys! The way I see it there are almost 16k of us who just want you to do you!! That's why we are here!😍 You sure found a lot of traffic this time!
No Fran & Rich! I love your lifestyle, topics, walks, dogs, simply recipes everything! I love you just the way you are exactly what you're doing is perfect for me! Thankyou for sharing 😊💖👍🦋🐛🥀🌾🌻🌳🌿🍁🍂🏞🚶♀️🚶♂️ Stay exactly as you are, both of you doing just as you do..
Please keep the full experience videos coming! I love the canal information but the canals are the highways to these places you explore, and if no one showed what and where they were, the rest of us might never know to go explore them. It's not hard for someone to fast forward if needs be :) Please stay safe and well, I hope you have great cruising weather as best you can, and have a great time exploring the areas along the way. Thanks again as always for taking the time to share these videos for us!
You are so right Sean. The canals are truly beautiful. But they are only part of the story. To us it doesn't make sense if you leave the surrounding countryside and towns out of the picture.
Thanks for this. I enjoy the variety that appears in your vlogs. You have cruising, walking, history - and then you share how you make your interesting meals. What more could we want?
The thing is we are watching you because that is what we as viewers have chosen and I personally love everything about your vlogs. They are always entertaining, always a pleasure to watch...and yes I realize this one was shared last year but it kinda grates on me when someone tells you what you should or shouldn't be doing with your vlog, so I thought I would like the others throw in my two cents worth...Just keep being you...you both do that so very well!
Funny you should saying about walking alongside the canals but always worried that when you go off walking the owner of the field of which you pay so much attention to would come over and chuck you off. Really enjoy your videos Archie looks really happy after his grooming.
Typed in at the 12 minute mark. Who cares what anyone else thinks about you sticking to the canals and rivers, you are vloging your lives, not just life on the canals and rivers, you two make the vlog, it is about you pair and the dogs. I am not a boat owner and don't have the cash to be one, but I know that if I won the lottery, I would have a narrowboat built to the specifications that I wanted. So, please pardon my language, (sod) those who expect you to do what they think that you ought to be doing. Stay well my friends, hope to see you both sometime, me doing magnet fishing, or God willing, parked next to you on a mooring, love to you both and to the dogs. xx
Thank you James. Keep up with the magnet fishing I'm sure there's a full safe out there somewhere to get your boat with. We'll be looking out for you x
To quote the great singer song writer, Billy Joel- "don't go changing, to try and please me........I love you just the way you are." Keep doing it your way.
I agree. There are so many Vlogs talking about the canals but as somebody who has never been to the UK and probably never will, I really enjoy your excursions, day to day life on the boat and your thoughts about what you see and hear.
Hi Rich & Fran! Another lovely video. I'm not a vegitarian, but I truly love watching you cook. The couscous salad looked very tasty. I will try this one for sure. Thanks 👍 - Eric in Illinois, USA
I love your exploration. I love your canal photos, but adding the waypoints and history points is wonderful. My way of learning about your country. Keep doing it. (Oregon USA)
Love this episode and all you packed into 2 1/2 miles! Such a great day, a walk, a recipe, and even a haircut for Archie. This is what we all connect with, just living the canal boat life. Thank you more than words can say for allowing us to dream the dream as you live it for the rest of us!
Another fabulous vlog. Great filming throughout. A nice variety including Fran preparing a delicious salad . Those shots of the Archie and Little Jess walking through the fields and the summer colours. Thanks for a fantastic vlog. Well done. 🙏🙏🐕🐕
Hi guys ...glad to see you are both well.... glad you managed to get stocked up again...lol... please don't change it... we tourists from foreign parts really enjoy you taking us around the countryside as you do as we get a chance see your country through your eyes... thanks for sharing such a lovely vlog.... keep safe until the next one....
No wine on board! That is critical victualling! You can live without the food but wine and coffee are fundamental to survival. (PS: I like the walks too - please don't stop including them!)
I'm exhausted just watching you guys!! I'm a Brit but love in California now, but I get homesick when watching' as I recognize some of the locks and landmarks you so eloquently discribe. Thank you.
I for one like the walking, history and all the other stuff you guys show along with the canal cruising, it’s like the complete package.Just keep doing what you do,that’s the reason your channel is so popular, hope you managed to replenish the cake and sweets supplies! Safe travels guys
Eventually got in the New Marton locks , while hubby opened the lock with the help of “surprise “ Fran. Great to meet you and our little chat. Big sorry to Rich for bumping into Constanze, was distracted by talk and the by-wash . Enjoy rest of Llangollen.
Hi guys another great video its good to see you are doing your walking and showing the country side as they are great to watch and the cruising as well and the salad lunch looked great stay safe and happy and safe boating cheers Barry Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Yes. You‘re absolutely right to show us what you are doing off the canals as well. Just the canals would be boring. Makes a change to see the surrounding landscapes and old little towns and manors. Lovely video again. Keep them coming!👍👍👍
I love watching your walks and land adventures, bit of variety is lovely. Always nice to see the canal locks and scenery too. All very interesting and informative. 🚤💖
We thoroughly enjoy your excursions off of the boat. Your walks truly are entertaining and informative. Please don't stop sharing your experiences with us! Warmest regards, Bill and Alice in Idaho
Hi Rich and Fran, We enjoy your vlogs about life on the canals when it includes everything you do, not just floating. My husband, Rich, especially enjoys all the history you talk about and the old buildings and castles you show. Please keep on keeping on! Thanks for all you do!

Took me back to the 90s when still in the UK and had to either get the train to London from Kent, or drive around the M25 nightmare to Surrey and back every work day. Hello you two...I enjoy every bit of your travels! I will never make it across the pond to see any of the beautiful country, history and waterways. You have a lovely boat home. Enjoy Fran's cooking portions too. Take care and be safe.

There are lots of just cruising the canal vloggers, I personally find some of them boring , so I follow the ones with variety, and everyday living in them. I really enjoy your videos, if someone wants just canal there are lots who can provide them. 👍🏻🙋🏼
Hi Rich and Fran...good to see you as always. I love the video, well, I love them all really. I love Archie's haircut. He looks so handsome. Interesting castle and moat today. I shall look it up and see if there is more information. Thanks for taking me along. I appreciate you both. Merry Ann from Minnesota
Hi Merry Ann. The castle has a very long and interesting history constantly changing hands between the English and the Welsh as it is on the border. We're going to another castle this weekend. I love them .
We love the fact that you get off the boat. My wife Gail says it is her fav part seeing all the little villages and interesting places that no other show will let you see. Thanks for being the best tour guides ever. Clyde & Gail New Brunswick Canada
While I really do love Floating our Boat, not least because of the variety of every day life Rich and Fran show, I have to say they aren’t the only ones who do so. Narrowboat Chef is a very nice young couple with an adorable dog named Pixel who not only walk about the towns from time to time, but also have a cooking vlog on their channel with simple recipes that can be cooked in a narrow boat galley.
Just keep doing what you're doing. Life's a journey not just a boat ride. Also I love watching Archie and Jesse getting all enthusiastic about what's down the track. 😊👍👌
Dear Fran & Rich, I really enjoy you taking us on your walks in the hills, towns, churches, and castles. Including your explorations and foraging makes your videos unique and shows the countryside for someone who loves BBC mysteries. I really appreciate you showing the towns' architecture, stoneworks, and inside museums and churches. And Fran's weaving and cooking are lots of fun. So much more interesting than just the canals. Wish I were there! Thanks for all your work making these! Jeff on the Oregon coast
Snap. We get similar comments. People say we are a campervan channel but we show too many walks and history. Like you with the boat, the van is the key to our getting out to explore. Especially now that I have lost the weight and we can walk more. Variety is the spice of life.
We agree with Mark from CO, down below. Must be a States perspective. One of the things we enjoy about river cruising is the ability to stop at towns that are really not accessible from our cruises on the ocean. That is why I enjoy so much your vlog that shows the "English" countryside. And the drone shots are seeing the countryside from a different perspective. Thanks so much for bring us along.

I really appreciate you showing the towns' architecture, stoneworks, and inside museums and churches. And Fran's weaving and cooking are lots of fun. So much more interesting than just the canals. Wish I were there! Thanks for all your work making these! Jeff on the Oregon coast
Thank you Jeff
Snap. We get similar comments. People say we are a campervan channel but we show too many walks and history. Like you with the boat, the van is the key to our getting out to explore. Especially now that I have lost the weight and we can walk more. Variety is the spice of life.
Quite agree. We have always said it's not about the boat. It's about the life and of course it is the same for you. Hope you're all well x
We completely agree. We have always said it's not about the boat, it's about the life and it is exactly the same for you. Hope you're all well. Xx
@@FloatingOurBoat we are well thanks. Looking forward to getting the van fixed so that we can travel further afield. Look after yourselves xx
Thank you, you're welcome
We do love your excursions and your travels down the canals. Not to mention your recipes!
