      @Mari-hb5do 4 года назад +1

Alantino I don’t take economics, but I have to agree! I’m loving learning all this stuff from his videos, because he can engage with the audience in a way that is not too mainstream and tedious nor too overwhelming when it comes to excitement levels about what is being taught. I’m an introvert with a difficulty in focusing at times (especially, if the topic does not interest me or the person teaching the topic in question is awfully tedious and takes their time at it, or speaks in a very dull way)... There are some people who have degrees but have no brains and some who have no degrees but a large brain.
EDIT: also, I think there is that psychological factor for people in general, thinking of school or work as a chore to do. I’m enjoying my degree but I have lecturers who are not really engaging or just can’t captivate the audience for some reason. Also, you feel overwhelmed and stressed at school because you’re doing it for the sake of passing with good grades, obtaining a GPA, etc. so you lose all that likability for ‘learning’ in a way and resort to do the bare minimum at a certain point in time, because you cant handle it anymore and don’t feel like you’re even living but just ‘surviving’. When there isn’t any pressure and you’re just learning something for the sake of learning, I feel like you retain the information for far longer time than studying for an exam or something because the exams just test your memorizing capabilities, your memory in question not whether you aced the contents or not. And most areas of study are constantly changing its knowledge (save perhaps for areas like history for example, in some cases, or literature - you add new dates or new literary pieces and correct some things here and there that weren’t as clear after finding new info).

@@Bobby_101 Idk, I team up with extroverts...so I come across a lot of extroverts. I personally think there are more extroverts than introverts. Those that do the talking in a restaurant, good salespeople, they have many needs in fact. Sometimes they try to "be your boss" and that's the only time they need to be put back in place...and never in public. I'm Founder and CEO of my company but most people think I'm a secretary. Putting an extrovert in the front is the best way to observe, be at peace and concentrate on what is essential.

Whether one is more of an introvert or an extrovert can be readily seen by how he/she replenishes energy. When they are a little tired (obviously, when anyone is exhausted, they need to sleep), introverts replenish themselves by being on their own, while extroverts do so by being with others. Introverts also tend to need less stimulation to be at optimal working condition, while extroverts tend to need more.
The other traits of one or the other are mainly extensions of these tendencies.
It took me years to find out that there was nothing 'wrong' with me. I had just been comparing myself with the extroverts around me - friends, colleagues, etc. Once I realised who I was and how I could use it to my advantage, I ran with it, and even wrote a book that was published 2+ years ago (titled The Introvert Teacher).
To my fellow introverts: Embrace who you are and your strengths will shine through.
Thank you, Pat, for making this video! I've always loved the content you've been producing and have been telling people about your channel. Wishing you and yours safety, health, and joy!

I understand this post is targeted at "entrepreneurship", but unfortunately the extrovert still tends to dominate the corporate world, with most having the expectation "their" style is better and that introverts like me need to become them. I have no desire to be them, and am very comfortable with being me. Even if that means others limited understanding may hold me back, in the current moment! My commitment to others as a business leader is, to do all I can to applying personality bias.

Introverts with ‘Emotional Intelligence’ make great entrepreneurs. Without EQ they usually have a Hard Time.
I have been on both sides. So, this comes from an Anecdotal Experience.

Being an introvert, I'm taking this video as a motivation to boost my self-confidence. In school, introverts are usually treated as rejects or weirdos. Not that it matters, it feels good to hear that introverts can make a difference. Thanks !!

I'm an introvert and the seventh point is something almost unconscious. Multiple times I'd talk to other people about something and would end up finding out no one else had seen it.
But I also have lost a lot of opportunities for not being seen. It's good to be an introvert if you are the leader, but not so good if you aren't. Most of the times, we will find ourselves doing all the work alone and not being recognized for it, while the others are applauded on every single thing they do, receiving bonuses and raises. It took a while, but I learned that to be successful as an employee, you must know how to show your value to people who matter. And this is a very difficult thing for an introvert to do.

This, I feel like I get shoved to the back corner and given all the shit shifts and jobs nowadays, when you have good leaders who notice you, things are good, when you have bad ones, you just end up doing junk because you don't get many opportunities to shine (I think they fear you'll take their job). I wish I had taken a management position the last time it came up (my work fired and rehired alot of people for less money, I had a chance before that, but the person who offered it to me was a dick to me and would have been my boss, it would have been hell for me). When this Corona Virus crap is over, I'm going to try and jump ship to another department (when they start it up again, they'll need staff for it).

I'm an introvert but two things I've always done is advocate for myself and ask for raises; that over preparing comes in handy then. I may have lucked out having bosses who recognize my value over all the busy work co-workers do. I'm glad to say I'm at the point he's talking about where I develop other people and that gets noticed as well.

Yep. Being an enlisted man in the trenches doesn't help as an introvert.
We gotta learn now to sneak talk and be extroverted-introverts.
Introverts are talkative as shit if it's a topic we like. But most people don't like our intellectual conversations and we HATE small talk.
However people I find are more open to listening to what you're interested in if you show interest in theirs

Just to remind other extroverts here, *you don't have to be an introvert to have these qualities.*
You just have to be more well-rounded and developed in yourself.
This is the same for introverts. They can also learn to develop the beneficial skills that extroverts have naturally. It takes some effort, but being more versatile is always a good thing in business.
