In this video we compare my buddy's 2019 Raptor with my 2014 SVT Raptor. There can be a lot of talk and arguments about which Raptor is best. The first gen. SVT with the V8 or Ford Performance gen. 2 with the EcoBoost V6. All jokes aside lets get this straight, both trucks are incredibly capable and the best in their fields when stacked against their competition. Personally I think there's no winner between the 2 and they are different enough that it's completely justified to own both if you have the means to. With that said, I hope you enjoy this video and it helps you lean towards the Raptor that's right for you whichever one that might be. Thanks for watching! Feel free to follow on Insta: @exoticars19

I cant imagine the cost of parts on that gen 2 though when shit breaks. Adaptaive suspension and intelligent tech is cool until you gotta pay 5000 to fix something stupid you cant work on yourself.

I test drove a 2020 last night, disappointed. I don’t know man, i was just not feeling it. The interior basics of the 2014 does not bother me. This video and all your other videos remind me why I’m going with the 2014.

"If you're not in the market for a Raptor, you're already wrong." Like and Sub based on that alone. I think we must be related, haha. The gen one sounds better, but that Gen 2 sounds great with that exhaust set up. I'm surprised.

    • @markj4979

Meh. A bunch of stickers and few parts I can install for a fraction of the price. Not impressed. When you consider the fact that 99% of Raptor owners will never venture off road, much less into sand dunes, the Raptor is pretty much the epitome of a poser vehicle. No thanks. A tuned 3.5 XL/XLT F150 will ass rape a Raptor on the street for half the price. I'm surprised Ford can sell these turds for $35k, much less $70K. For that price, you can get a vastly superior car. This obsession with pickup trucks is weird. My beater vehicle is a tuned 2017 F150 XLT 3.5 EB 4X4. It's great for occasional trips to the dump or Home Depot. As a daily driver, not so much. Even my old 2014 tuned SHO is a vastly superior vehicle . For the same price, my Dinan S1 BMW M550i will make the Raptor look silly in the real world. I could literally make a sandwich and eat it while waiting for a Raptor to finish the 1/4 mile. Do. Not. Understand.

Never driven offroad and never had a passenger in the back seat! They sell fast so know what to look for and ask right away to see and test drive it! I got it in November 2019. I purchased an extended service plan for $2,500. Its pretty much a bumper to bumper plan with roadside assistance and the works. Good for 50,000 miles or 48 months, whatever I hit first.

I just picked up my 2019 ford raptor a few days ago and I absolutely love it!!! I don’t like a few things but the most major thing is obviously the sound but I knew that coming in. It’s a v6. Fuckin fast for a truck though.
Don’t like: sound system too weak, auto start but you still have to unlock and then insert the key in ignition,
I do have the base model but still. I had a 2018 Dodge Charger rt/scat pack with dynamics package that had an awesome Alpine sound system that bumped hard enough for me to not even think about getting after market sound. You could auto start it and simply put hand under handle and it would unlock and u wouldn’t have to insert key. That car cost me $37,300 brand new not including taxes/license. MSRP was 42k but I haggled.

It might be cos I'm a coot, but I think the Gen I just looks better, especially the front end/grill; the Gen II is just too busy and complex, like modern motorcycles. Seriously, compare the 1995 Honda CB1000 with the 2015 CB1000; interestingly, the new 2020 model looks more like the '95 model, and less like a Transformer... Also, I'm sure it's different in person, but in this video the V6 of the Gen II just doesn't sound very good; kinda farty or something, just no grumbly low grunt and oomph. If I were looking for one, I'd definitely get the Gen I and do some aftermarket upgrades. Plus, and this REALLY shows my coot-ness, I LIKE old-school keys! I dunno, I like having to actually stick it in the ignition and turn it; same with unlocking the doors and bed... I guess I just like the simpler version, of most things... Still, ANY Raptor is a good Raptor, ya can't go wrong either way, I'd say....

Just know when you turbo anything especially a v6 it will not last as long as a naturally aspirated V8. Buy a V8 truck they are just better long term. My 2014 5.3 silverado is a beast. Can't get that sound or mid band power from a v6

Gen 1 it’s more American : loud pipes and slow trucks . Gen 2 more is European not as loud pipes but fast

Why should a 72,000 thousand dollar truck break when your doing what's it's designed to do. Come on Ford. You guys make some sick shit, but it's always a paper champion. . Only last for the short show.

@@TexasRevving Ford has been amazing in there performance aspects in regards to advancing the powere and performance of there vehicles. However, its seems there are sacrificing the long term reliability. Yes I know with higher levels of performance you will have to trade off some realibilty, but it seems the trade off has vastly overstated there realibilty. Consumers will eventually switch to the realibilty.

That said. Love the Raptor, love the mustang Gt. Own one. Just wish they would stop redesigning drive trains in such a short time and then push them out to the show room floor, but I know the stock holders need there quarterly 2 percent growth on schedule.

@@myrongaines5542 I just the term "Eco Boost" is dumb when applied the engine in this particular vehicle. There's nothing "Eco" about it -- and almost no one buying it cares that it gets 16mpg.
