I wish you had taught me at school, I wouldn’t be learning again now ! Am a student nurse in the UK and am loving your videos- thank you soooo much for sharing your knowledge, in a way that I understand and can remember!
Very helpful! I am a clinical health studies major and taking human anatomy & physiology I & II .. it’s helpful reading them watching your videos after
Yes there is something missing! The phimotic ring of the prepuce in the infant in particular, acts as a valve at the meatus preventing the entrance of pathogens into the urethra and protecting the meatus. Stenosis meatus is a common complication of ritual infant penectomy, sometimes requiring corrective surgery. In contrast to the prostatic utricle the prepuce is everything but rudimentary but there is a common myth cultivated in cutting communities that it is, sadly this appears to include the anatomy teaching in the UK.
Thank you as ever for your excellent videoe sir. I never imagined that a tube could be so complex! The only downside was your introduction when you mentioned the heatwave and your air condioning system which must be very powerful as North Yorkshire (at least my bit of it) is positively cool this evening! Blessings and peace
I came here to figure out what is the valve for lack of a better word, gee I wonder what the Latin word is for valve, That turns off the flow. It turns out to be the external urethral sphincter, I think. So my brain tells the EUS to squeeze down the urethra to stop the flow do I have that right? When I was a kid I had very little control of that now as I've gotten older I and start peeing and I can tell my brain to tell the EUS to close down and I stop peeing.
Can you please tell me how it's possible that it hurts like he'll while urinating a day after a visit at physiotherapist who where working on my mussels ?????
First: Urethral glands of females provide lubrication that (a.) are anti microbial in nature (prevents UTIs) thus allowing for the female urethra to be shorter than the male’s urethra (b) the lubrication protects the vagina during sexual arousal, hence females do not need an internal sphincter as it would inhibit anti microbial protection during intercourse. An infection could decrease embryonic wall adhesion. (c) as a result of no internal urethral sphincter, women who suffer urinary leakage during intercourse may have a low stage anterior prolapse. Pop culture lacks knowledge of anatomy and has interpreted “squirting,” leakage of urine during sex as arousal when in-fact it may indicate an low stage anterior prolapse; the female should seek a pelvic for therapist for pelvic floor exercises prior to getting pregnant Second: Pressure within the urethra when sneezing and coughing, when suffering from an anterior prolapse, should be discussed. Third: Pessary types used as an (internal male sphincter) to prevent leakage in stage 1 and 2 anterior prolapse and how some women find a tampon help in early stages of anterior prolapse. Forth: Discuss how pelvic floor exercises- specifically the infamous poorly taught kegel - can it improve how the urethra functions via improving the strength of the pelvic floor and improve urinary incontinence in women? This is 2023, it is a shame you are not teaching medical students equal knowledge of their bodies and their future patient’s bodies. If these topics are not test on in your university then you have a women’s rights problem in your medical school and government’s licensure. Make a new video.
