I love SR 71 but their second album tomorrow really screwed over there chance of being successful because they try to switch to a more grunge style, so, even after the release of their third album here we go again, which was a return to form and was 🔥 It was too late.

    • @JoeSchoffstall
      @JoeSchoffstall 11 месяцев назад +5

@@Kevin-yo4nmI don't know about that - SR 71 actually wrote and recorded the song "1985" before giving it to Bowling for Soup (their version is here on RUclips). That song was a hit and could've been theirs. But SR 71's singer (Mitch Allan) wanted to write songs for other artists in different genres - and he did write/ produce a ton of hits like that.

    Lyrics:
She clings to me like cellophane
    Fake plastic submarine
    Slowly driving me insane
    But now that's over
So what if the sex was great
    Just a temporary escape
Another thing I grew to hate
    But now that's over
Why, why do you always kick me when I'm high
Knock me down till we see eye to eye
Figured her out I know she
May not be Miss Right, she'll do right now
I used to hang on every word
    Each lie was more absurd
    Kept me so insecure
    But now that's over
She taught me how to trust
    And to believe in us
And then she taught me how to cuss
    That bitch, it's over
You know I used to be such a nice boy
Why, why do you always kick me when I'm high
Knock me down till we see eye to eye
Figured her out I know she
May not be Miss Right, she'll do right now
She clings to me like cellophane
    Fake plastic submarine
    She's driving me insane
    But now that's over
Why, why do you always kick me when I'm high
Knock me down till we see eye to eye
Figured her out I know she
    May not be Miss Right
    She'll do right now
    Right now
    Right now

I love that they came out of the same circle a lot of us in Baltimore and Towson came from. The music scene here is still alive and well, pop-punk included.

I kind of liked this era of music better bc it was more rock. Top 40 lately has a folksy influence that isn't really for me.

Its 2021 and I miss that folksy influence from like 2012-2014. Now its just depressing banal pop

    • @AphroditesSecrets

1985 is actually a Sr-71 song. It was on their Japanese album.

    • @garrettlifespan4496
      @garrettlifespan4496 7 лет назад +4

Asante Schofield SR 71 is far from that they have a lot of well written songs and a real good singer its just because so many iconic pop punk and alternative rock bands came out of nowhere in the mid 90's to early 2000's so its hard for the masses to keep up. Also they were real pop punk they did solos in some of their songs but didn't joke around as much as other bigger bands during the same time so they weren't as appealing or cute to the audience like the other two bands with numbers in them or their friends Bowling for Soup.
