Cutscene before the battle against the boss, Egg Dealer.
Shadow meets Dr. Eggman who praises Shadow, telling him he has surpassed his expactations, equal to the real Shadow. Dr. Eggman tells Shadow to hand over the Chaos Emeralds to him. Shadow refuses, which angers Dr. Eggman and engages in combat against Shadow.

I love this boss *-* this is my favorite STH boss battle
Someone suggested that Shadow Fever was meant to power the androids and that Eggman never intended to use the Egg Dealer against Shadow. I want to believe that's what the developers had in mind, but that probably isn't the case.
It's definitely true that he put in Shadow fever for the androids! No matter what joke someone wants to make it's just so obvious.

My fave Sonic game and this actually has one of if not my most favorite Eggman quotes right here. " How dare you! I created you , I gave you life! I gave you an order or have you forgotten? IDIOT! PERHAPS I NEED TO TEACH YOU A LESSON! "
So if Eggman ever creates a new version of this, makes me wonder what new attacks he could include-
_"You should be dancing! It's time for Saturday Night Fever."_
_"Hay Fever! This one's not to be sneezed at!"_
_"Prepare to be chomped! It's time for Pac-Man Fever!"_
RobotwarsKing I don't know how Eggman could top this one. I mean, everyone knows a giant metal hamburger, with french fry legs, and a giant slot machine on the front of it is the prime design. What else could he make? Maybe a metal dog with an obvious antenna on its head, a ferris wheel with a giant eye, or how about another old school ball and chain?
i love that eggman puts power ups on his slot machine for shadow when he wants to kill him. (derp)
The sound it makes when you get three in a row was on the Sonic Adventure sound list...
seriously eggman? why would you even THINK to make a robot like this?
I thought of a way to fix this boss and it's basically by having the player pick their own poison.
The Egg Dealer has IMMENSE defensive capabilities, doing some small attacks as it keeps it's distance from you, and cannot simply be attacked, in order to attack, you have to match three slots, once you do, Eggman will launch the attack, BUT. Not only can none of the attacks be used against Eggman, but there's also no Shadow Fever or Ring Bonus for you, if you land Shadow Fever, Shadow Androids will be summoned, if you land Ring Bonus, the Egg Dealer will actually regain some health.
But here's the advantage you DO get, as long as Eggman is using a slot machine attack, he will be vulnerable to damage.
You can pick an attack you can handle better if you time it right. And attack accordingly.
Just thought it's a cool idea, and it's frankly in character for Eggman to have his victims decide their own destruction.

I don't know why he is a doctor building a machine like that. Perhaps he has a PhD in getting his ass kicked.

Why the fuck would Eggman make slots that can give Shadow 'Chaos Blast'?!! Makes it easier for Shadow to destroy the living shit out of Eggman! Haha
This is kinda a cool idea for a boss but it didn't work as well as it could have done.

It's so stupid that there's no path where you can side with Eggman. They should have given you a True Neutral Path with this ending of him betraying Eggman. While the Neutral Dark Path is he and Eggman defeating the Black Arms in name of the Eggman Empire.
