Why continue to listen to a song you have ever heard more than once? It is beautiful to see someone interact with an instrument and watch the interplay between human and spiritual, the human and the heavenly.
Having listened to Asturias an uncountable number of times, I think what I like so much about his version of it is that it is just so cleanly played - some artists it just kind of blurs all in together, but with him, you can feel him hitting each note of it. Fantastic.
I had the good goose bumps running all over my entire body and tears in my eyes during all pieces that he performed. Absolutely beautiful skills! All I could feel was the tenderness of the way he played and love is what touched my heart. Thank you for keeping this video up for others to enjoy. Take care and stay healthy. (Smile)

I agree with craigalake, the greate players , Segovia, bream, Williams all spent a great deal of there careers playing new pieces commissioned for them which extended the repertoire and reputation of the instrument, romance is the 1st piece I ever learnt when I was 14, 30 years ago, it's simple. Maybe Milos "gets away" with playing the long-time standards because, unlike most classical guitarists, he has succeeded in gaining enough audience from outside the classical guitar ghetto to support a career. Within which nowadays it is almost impossible to make a living. An audience to whom the standards are not only not cliché, they are brand new. The temerity! Not only that, he produces music videos with orchestration. Heresy! Bah. I hope he cries all the way to the bank for years to come.

@timothyforvendetta i also know spanish romance ;-) the other two songs require much more skill and precision to play, specially the last one with the alternate tunning, that's why i said that he's a good player. cheers and thanks for agreeing.
Lets hazzard a guess as to why he is all over the place ,,,His LOOKS ,pure and simple .It's beauty over talent. Not saying he isnt good ,but ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
OMG such hate and obvious jealousy. I think he was trying to introduce viewers to the world of classical guitar. It is obvious he is in front of a crowd that is new to this type of music. By the way, he CAN play much harder pieces including Sevilla. It is on his album and it is amazing.
Its been done and done and done and done and done and done and done and done and done and done and done and done and done and done and done and done again. Why is he famous? He isn't a bad guitarist, far from it, but seriously there are so many competitive guitarists that could blow this dude out of the water. Perhaps it IS about acquaintances and selling yourself to the right people at deutsche grammophon. Don't squander your good fortune and I hope you feel blessed.
"Is the musical public still this naive about the classical guitar?" Yes, yes, yes they are. "The musical public" doesn't just include people who listen to Chopin and Mozart. It's *everybody*. The mere fact that he *explains* that Asturias is famous in the classical guitar world should tell you that this performance is marketed to the general public--not to people who have heard it ever before. And so much the better for us guitarists. We NEED the exposure this guy gives us.
the finesse, the technique, and the general feel of his playing really captures my attention. I like these types of guitar pieces because, if played by a virtuoso like milos, you can emote so much. guys a good looking dude too. haha
For those of you who say Smallmans dont sound good...eat it...heres proof they do. Stop regurgitating what you heard somebody else say so you can sound musically intelligent.
Good stuff. Good choice of music for general audience. Dude should learn Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata (first movement), and Turkish March also. When well played, these pieces never fail to astound and attract.
hey thank you...they are pretty nice guitars..i saw Williams & Smallman on the Bio...very expensive....I am looking for a newer guitar next month perhaps...i bought a Cordoba C9...too much mid-range..other than that it's nice...was going to move up to a Clarita...but perhaps for the price of $2k i could go with a luthier...not sure what to do really at this point...except keep on practicing...lol
guitarmbar, you said it the best! This is not the repertoire for someone who is getting so much attention. He is a good player, I perfectly agree. But, playing Romanza! Really! There are so many phenomenal players far better than him who even compose their own ridiculous pieces and they are not getting nearly this much publicity.
@nebrulla it's not possible to explain why guitars play out of tune in 450 words but you will find an interesting article on the subject here. timberens com essays tuning.htm use a . for the com and slashes in the other spaces to make the link. It's an interesting subject if you care to study it. The human perception of pitch can be quite variable. Almost no instrument plays perfectly in tune yet can sound fine to the ear.
Also with the exceptions Sergio and Roland i can no think of another guitarist whos compositions are anywhere near as complex, musical, beautiful and sometime haunting as Albeniz, Granados, Barrios (all of who he has recorded, including Sergio!)
Say what you like; I don't know much about classical guitar. I enjoyed listening to this and went back to listen to Asturias a second time. Boo to the naysayers and to classical guitar snobbery.
@jackthesedays music like any other subject is to be judged, critized, apreciated and loved. I'm not just droping higher up's, milos is a good guitar player, and before you criticize my opinion, just search for the video that i mentioned, you won't be disappointed. cheers
@kurouki I totally agree with you. I don't understand why he would play Spanish Romance in a set of pieces to show his skill....That's like the first song I learned. meh is right.
Acho que a maioria dos críticos não tem pratica e conhecimento o suficiente para julgar, o que leva a concluir que a mais e inveja.Milos Karadaglic e Magnifico !
@kurouki That's very rude. Especially the 'meh' at the start of your comment stating boredom and disapproval toward his skills as a guitarist. You're entitled to your own opinions, but know that you have offended me and many others with your blatant rudeness and I wish you would leave your negative opinions to yourself.
I wrote a four movement uke and guitar piece (to be played at same time by performer) if interested and four pieces for two slides, one on each hand. Both, as far as I'm aware have never been done. Please check them out
It is not how many times the pieces are played, the problem that a lot of people have with him is the repertoire . Romanza is really not at the level of Chopin or Debussy work. You can't even compare. When I see his face on just about every radio appearance & concert, I have to believe that he is something extraordinary & above others. He is good but he is nothing exceptional. There R way 2 many players better than him technically & musically who also compose brilliant music.
the only sad thing here is to see how many people waste their energy on complaining. i don't like justin bieber but i dont click his videos just to comment on how bad he sucks.
His mission was instantly clear to me when I heard him say in an interview that he felt music to be a better representation of a country than any politician. Those words resonated in me and made me fall in love with him.

Such a beautiful rendition should get more likes.
Truly beautiful. All the pieces were beautifully rendered.
The last piece felt soulful.

I haven’t seen any negative comments, why would people criticise his playing ?
because his technique isn't good. look at Segovia or David Russell for a real classical guitar player.

For those of you who say Smallmans dont sound good...eat it...heres proof they do. Stop regurgitating what you heard somebody else say so you can sound musically intelligent.
Which type of guitar is that?
Good stuff. Good choice of music for general audience. Dude should learn Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata (first movement), and Turkish March also. When well played, these pieces never fail to astound and attract.
ENVY it's a horrible menace
magnificent
Hey I'm playing 2/3 of those pieces, myself
You're just jealous cuz Milos gon have some anonymous romances after this
I found it. The perfect comment.
Many here criticize Milos. I would like to the great guitar specialist to put your video on YT to see them.
hey thank you...they are pretty nice guitars..i saw Williams & Smallman on the Bio...very expensive....I am looking for a newer guitar next month perhaps...i bought a Cordoba C9...too much mid-range..other than that it's nice...was going to move up to a Clarita...but perhaps for the price of $2k i could go with a luthier...not sure what to do really at this point...except keep on practicing...lol
guitarmbar, you said it the best! This is not the repertoire for someone who is getting so much attention. He is a good player, I perfectly agree. But, playing Romanza! Really! There are so many phenomenal players far better than him who even compose their own ridiculous pieces and they are not getting nearly this much publicity.
@nebrulla it's not possible to explain why guitars play out of tune in 450 words but you will find an interesting article on the subject here.
timberens com essays tuning.htm
use a . for the com and slashes in the other spaces to make the link.
YES!!! i love him haha
Say what you like; I don't know much about classical guitar. I enjoyed listening to this and went back to listen to Asturias a second time. Boo to the naysayers and to classical guitar snobbery.
Beautiful! Who's the luthier of this guitar?
even so, john williams' slower interpretation allows Leyenda to build up and climax so intensely at the first flamenco strummed B major
Couldn´t help and stare all the time at his fingers...
@jackthesedays music like any other subject is to be judged, critized, apreciated and loved.
I'm not just droping higher up's, milos is a good guitar player, and before you criticize my opinion, just search for the video that i mentioned, you won't be disappointed.
cheers
Personally, the sign to the left of his head says it all.
He is very good. By the way, the last piece he played was what? Can any one tell me the title of that piece? I did not understand what he said.
Carlo Domeniconi: Koyunbaba - moderato
Thank you very much. That was very sad and beautiful.
nice...
How is it played maestro? There are no tempo markings and the author is unknown, yet YOU know. Please share.
Is that a fuckin MF Doom LUNCHBOX?!!?
I wrote a four movement uke and guitar piece (to be played at same time by performer) if interested and four pieces for two slides, one on each hand. Both, as far as I'm aware have never been done. Please check them out
¡¡¡Bravísimo!!!
Amazing guitar work. Not so amazing camera work.
If you really want to hear real guitar, you just have to search the net. what is not possible is converncer to friends, relatives or acquaintances
✨🕊✨
classic
the only sad thing here is to see how many people waste their energy on complaining. i don't like justin bieber but i dont click his videos just to comment on how bad he sucks.
