At 52 this year this song is starting to hit home. I’m not as fast as I use to be. Having to use reading glasses and memory is fading a little. Got aches and pains and wonder how much more is to come. Framing houses all thru my younger years has taken a toll on my back. I have framed literally hundreds of them. So I have lifted millions of pounds of lumber in my days. It’s amazing what a human body can endure. But like the song says in “The Garden” the arrow flies while we dream, while we sleep, the cells tick away. Age is our biggest enemy as so is time. Use it wisely like Neil did. He said he was never bored. At 52 I will follow his lead and fill my days being successful in my business. But most important I feel the need to spend every moment with my wife and be as close to her as possible at all times. I would rather walk the mall with her today than go hang out with the guys on the golf course. May be hard to believe but that’s the way I feel these days and especially with what’s going on in the world these days. We don’t know what tomorrow brings.
I'm 55 and a huge Rush fan. I understand you perfectly. I feel like I'm staring out a door that is growing smaller day by day. Death is becoming more real. But I still desire to live to the fullest but my body and brain are ... losing it.
This song resonates with all of us eventually. We all "lose it" in some form or another. At work....our physical and mental health etc. At 56 im with ya and this song means more today than it ever did. Wonderful cover.
I've lost count how many times I've watched this. Every time I see the picture of Neil during the "Some are born to move the world" part, it hits me in the feels.
I've seen hundreds of Rush cover bands, tribute bands and folks doing covers on RUclips and many of them were exceptionally good, but I have never gotten goosebumps, the hair raising charge through the body and a flood of emotions from them until now. That was beyond phenomenal. You are obviously well trained and excellent musicians but you also have that something extra. That vibe, that atmosphere of soul that shines through and grabs hold of the listener's heart. Thank you for sharing that. I'm sure Neil would be proud.
@2muchtv is bad Yes, you're right. Pert was unique. I know though, because I spoke to people before and some told me that the Drummer from Led Zeppelin was better by just a notch and vice versa. Here's a master class.... I wonder if the drummer from the video above can play this one?. ruclips.net/video/r9-42mu1D9Y/видео.html

My son was taught by one of Neil's best friends as a drummer. Rest in peace brother.
That is my absolute favorite Rush song, the lyrics are so poignant and meaningful and just plain beautiful. Let's face it, we're all getting older and "losing it."
At 54, I have spent roughly 40 years listening to Rush. I grew up playing drums and my focus has always been on Neil the drummer. A great drummer's! This cover is a wonderful chance enjoy Neil the writer and lyricist! Great job.
I've been listening to Rush since high school I'm 61 years old and I remember their first album and I own it 2112 along with a few other Rush albums I have he sounds like geddy Lee don't he I still want to hear Nina play Tom Sawyer
Correct, no disrespect; I had no idea who they were until I viewed this. I was blown away. Very talented artists. Anyone that can do justice to a RUSH tune like this; they deserve a badge of pure ‘badass.’
Come the year 2112, People will still be listening to, and applauding RUSH’s great music, and Fleesh, your cover of their last song on their last album will also be there for people to enjoy - I APPLAUD you for all your Rush covers ❤️ HAD JUST BEEN LISTENING TO FLEESH’S THE GARDEN COVER
I couldn't watch the video through all the tears. The professor was a huge influence in my style of percussion. So many lyrics of Neil's can describe each individual fan's emotional moments in time that it's still difficult to fathom he has shed his earthly bonds. Thank you Professor, Geddy, Alex for the timeless emotions your music stirs. Brody thank you for your tribute.
I don't know exactly why, but the lyric "And he stares out the kitchen door, where the sun will rise no more," always puts a tear in my eye. Maybe it's because at 50 years old, along with being a two-time cancer survivor, this song and especially that specific lyric reminds me of my own mortality. I have always considered this song to be among my absolute favorite songs by Rush, which means it is among my absolute favorites of all time by anyone. We have so much in the beginning, and as time goes on, more and more is taken away. Like the dancer who can no longer dance, or the author who can no longer write, we too will reach that point. Don't take anything for granted, guys. If you can dance, then dance. If you can write, then write. If you can enjoy your favorite food or movie or sporting event, enjoy it. You won't forever. Thanks for reading. And this is an EXCELLENT tribute to one of the greatest bands ever. Thank you for doing this.
One of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces I have ever heard in my 68 years. Rush will remain a treasure for as long as people have hearts to feel their own beats. Spectacularly well done.
Brought a tear to an old mans eye. One of Rush's best songs and Neils finest lyrics - the Hemmingway link is inspired - unfortunately summing up his life's ending. The man was a gentleman, a genius and a giant of music and it was sad to know that towards the end that he lost his ability to be the man he once was. ''The bell tolls for thee'' is such a powerful line.
Fantastic tribute! One month ago the world lost a genius! Now I had chance to cry for! This tribute do it for me! RIP Neil! Tks RUSH! The band of my life!
Thank you both for honoring one of my favorite humans ever so beautifully. This song still brings me to tears; and your cover is no exception. Phuck, I miss Neil!!
Thank you for this beautiful and emotional tribute to Neil. Since the early 80's I have so admired Neil Peart for his intellect, his unmatched drumming and his character. A piece of me died when Neil passed. Thank you Brody and Nina for this spiritual master piece.
I've come back to this cover so many times. Just perfection. I tear up when Neal's photo appears. I would love to have the instrumental track just to sing it for myself.
Now at 52 years old, and with the loss of my favorite drummer of all times this song takes on more meaning of ever. He is why I became a drummer. I feel my body losing the strength of my younger years. My memory isn’t as focused and sharp as once was. So the song is really starting to hit close to home. Now about you guys making the video. I don’t know where to begin. But I will say Im blown away by everything to do with it. I find myself watching it again from time to time. So thank you for such an incredible display of talent written and played by such an incredible band of 40plus years. You two nailed it beyond expectations. You truly are way up their on a professional platform of skills and talent. Thank you again. Im sure Geddy and Alex have seen it and are as equally impressed as everyone else. And Neil would be also I truly believe. Let me thank you one more time.
I have been a Rush fan since I was very young and this song means so much to me (Because I'm aging) and to hear it done so exactly is a treat beyond what I could imagine! Thank you. I am a drummer and Neil Peart was always my hero: Copied but never duplicated. RIP - The "Professor"
I've been a Rush fan since hearing 2112 as a teenager in the late seventies.. They never played - Losing it whenever I saw them live, a shame as its great lyrics and music, this cover of it is siperb, very well done. 👍👍👍
One of the lesser-known Rush songs that was rarely performed live. Haunting and beautiful. One of my favorites to listen to and a great song to play along to. No other rock band pulls this off. Nicely done.
If I remember correctly this is the only song in their entire catalogue that its live debut was also on a live album, that being the R40 release. Pretty raw and all around great
My favorite Rush song....and you guys killed it!!! I hope Geddy and Alex see this!! This was their song and even they struggled with it!! So well done! amazing!
Just watched Time Stand Still last night. The gifts that were given to us all over the years is so special. Love Rush and great job to you Brody...your a bad ass in your own right my brother.
Simultaneously one of the most depressing, beautiful, horrifying, and utterly beloved songs ever performed, by a band with 40 years of class, talent, mind-bogglingly good music, and absolutely brilliant performances. This song NEVER fails to bring a tear to my eye, no matter the context. And never more poignant than "In memory of Neil". The man, the myth, the legend, the greatest. Rest well, Neil. You're missed, more than words can possibly say.
Just ran across this... Very, very well done. This is one of my favorite songs.. You went beyond doing this justice.. I believe you've captured the spirit of the work.. thank you
Thank you so my much. I am watching this again today, tears streaming down my face. (Edit) I figured out why this song is affecting me so much- your music touches my soul, and the song reminds me of all the things I could have done but will never do with my son. Hope my son’s spirit is listening from wherever he is. Thank you again Brody (and Nina)
I am in tears for many reasons 1st for my dad, 2nd for Neil Peart and 3rd you too are Incredible Musicians and the Violin is Incredible.......thank you...Thank you for keeping RUSH alive....BRAVO

What you just said it's absolutely true. If I only knew how to save youtube videos on my pc, I would definitely download this one.
Goosebumps is right.....absolutely fantastic!!

One of my most favorite as well
My exact thoughts! Well said. I am a 57 year old drummer/Rush fan. No one did it like these guys -
RUSH did this song with 4 people , you did it with 2!
AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking as a lifelong Rush fan over their entire career and self-described fanatic, this was amazing!
One of the best Rush tributes I’ve come across. 🤘
Tears... not the song on 2112. Just tears. Thank you.
That woman is an absolute boss on the violin. Outstanding.
All artists feel this song! From all gifted God-gifted attributes..
This is not an easy song to play but you nailed this. Excuse me while I cut these onions.
That Dude plays every instrument. Except the violinist. Look closely. Skill & Talent. Super Cover.

This is the very definition of a tribute. Absolutely beautiful job.
Neil writes the most haunting lyrics well read snd understanding human nature its a joy to listen to
Never seen a more perfect cover
The violin solo at 2:50 really brings into stark contrast the genius and passion of the original solo. And she plays it to perfection.

As good as the musician work is, his voice is even better. Nina on violin is just the icing on the cake. Bravo !
Absolutely fantastic. I love that you didn’t try to reinterpret their masterpiece. You don’t reinterpret Bach or Beethoven. You are amazing musicians.
Well done. RIP Professor

Great comment. Completely agree.

I’ve always loved how Geddy Alex, and Neil musically “stepped aside” on this song so as to put the spotlight on Ben Mink’s playing.
Gives me chills just like the original!
This was the best cover of any Rush tune- perfection.
