CHRIS DIAMANTOPOULOS On Landing the THREE STOOGES After Johnny Knoxville & Hank Azaria #insideofyou #threestooges - Развлечения
Tbh this sums the movie up: the three actors cared more about it than production did
The Farley Brothers cared just as much as they did. It was 20th Century Fox that tried to piss on their shoes.
I was surprised at how much I liked the Three Stooges movie. It was perfectly cast, the gags were hilarious, and it felt like it was an authentic Three Stooges movie. Chris Diamantopoulos really blew me away with his impression of Moe and I've been a fan ever since.
He fucking NAILED Moe Howard - the cadence, the look, the demeanor. He was pitch perfect. And that film doesn’t get the love it truly deserves. Sean Hayes and Will Sasso also were phenomenal.
And it was SO smart to structure the film as a group of shorts.
I didn’t like the whole movie overall, but The Three Stooges were PERFECTLY cast by these guys. Chris Diamantopoulous was absolutely phenomenal as Moe!
I watched it when youtube put it up for free, honestly it wasn't bad and felt pretty faithful to the origins. I feel like people clowned on it because slapstick humor isn't super common anymore.
The movie was my childhood and it introduced me to one of my favorite songs made by Foster The People lol
cast...not casted
The script was hit and miss. I was not a fan of the larry and curly one their own and moe doing his own thing. Would have been good with all three together. But they all hit the mark with their respected characters. My favorite part was when the bell hit the nun. 'Who is that?' 'I don't know, but her face rings a bell'.
@@eastwood34 That’s not the reason it failed at all. It didn’t fail because people “don’t like slapstick humor anymore.” If that were the case it would merely have failed to generate interest, but those who did see it would watch it expecting slapstick and loving it. That didn’t happen. The audience who wanted to love it was not impressed. Ever wonder why Stooges shorts are remembered more fondly than their movies? 2 reasons: recasting Curly and the fact that they are best enjoyed in small doses. Now imagine recasting all of them and stretching it out to movie length. The movie was bad even if the casting and performances were as good as it could be. It was like watching a cover band. Sure, you might shell out for a show, but you’re not gonna buy the album.
Biggest stooge fan. I thought the movie would be absolute trash, but they all nailed their character. This dude was Moe. Wish the movie would've done better.
Yeah you’re full of shit the movie was hilarious.
There were talks of a sequel for a while tho.
Will Sasso as Curly, pulling up the dude's pants on the street and cheerfully saying "There ya go, fella," is easily one of the hardest belly-laughs I've ever had.
@@jennyrebecca7243 they never said it wasn't. Just that it didn't do well critically or at the box office. Plenty of good movies flop.
@@jannivannibell I wasn't. I thought the actors were great. For a hundred year old concept, I thought it was pretty funny. Stooges just don't work for this time. Watch an old looney tune show. It doesn't age well.
It's so impressive that he stayed in character throughout the auditions.
Just a remarkable determination.
Great actor and seems like a great guy. ✌🏾🤟🏾
That last thing Rosenbaum says, 'They saw Moe right in front of them but they kept going around...' It's so true. They hold on to this ridiculous notion that 'names sell pictures', which simply isn't true.
Well, you're wrong. It bombed at a cost of $30M to produce it only brought in $54M in the box office haha that's officially a bomb. Johnny Knoxville's movies have all tanked (acting roles - not Jackass), so there's that too.
@@robertfrost8264 You feel good for correcting me? That make you feel smart?
Chris is a criminally underrated. I loved him in Silicon Valley.
I loved that movie precisely because they didn't try to modernize them, but to put them as they were in the modern days. It seemed so bad in paper but somehow it hit the right chords. It felt like a tribute from the heart, and not like a lazy cash-in.
I'm glad he went to all that effort and was so persistent because he was perfect as Moe.
I was pleasantly surprised with all of them.
I loved the original "in spirit" Stooges bits that the movie had: donut remover, EZ-lite waterproof safety matches...and in the very beginning, the hotel was called the Philander Inn, lmao
I still can't believe he voices mickey mouse. I can only imagine Mickey saying Russ Hanneman's lines. Lmao
this guy fucks! *points at goofy*
Good for him. He fought for it. He Rudy'd it. I saw only Moe when he was on screen in that movie.
It's hard to blame them for wanting Hank Azaria but they made the right choice. The guys who played the Stooges did an incredible job that went way beyond the film itself. It's unfortunate they never got another chance to make a really good Stooges movie.
This dude was the right choice...
The movie is a great tribute to the old stooge films and a classic in its own right...
He made that film!! And it was a massively underrated film. I loved it and more importantly my dad loved it and he was a massive stooges fan
Chris D. was absolutely incredible as Moe. He channeled him. There were numerous moments were I forgot I wasn't looking at the original Moe Howard. Sean Hayes was great as Larry and Will Sasso, although gigantic, was a perfect Curly. The movie's script and terrible flavor-of-the-month celebrities were the problem, but I will go to my grave defending Chris D. as Moe. Even if I can't get his last name right on the first try.
I loved the three stooges movie I remember the first time I watched it my parents got the DVD for me after getting major surgery one of the worst ideas ever because I was laughing so much that I would have to pause because I had stitches all up my stomach so the laughing would hurt , I hope they give them another shot at being the stooges , that hospital scene still kills me
He was excellent in that role.he's underrated.
He absolutely owned that role.
I really liked the movie, I always hoped they did more. He was perfect as Moe.
Like a Series of Films, or a TV Show. Maybe a Series of Shorts to Coincide with Some Full-length Comedies (like They Often Did/Do with Animated Work)
He was awesome in that movie, I wish they'd make another one
I wish they would have done more movies. All three of them did amazing as The Three Stooges.
First time seeing him in that movie, can't believe how lucky they got
Will Sasso killed it on Mad TV and Hayes is good as gold. Together they made the film infinitely better.
Will's Kenny Rogers is so iconic
@@jackkingsby116 Schwarzenegger and Seagal too.
Chris nailed the Moe part no doubt, would have liked to see What Johnny Knoxville and Benicio Del Toro's Moe impressions looked like?
All I see is Russ Hanneman! Tres commas 🤣
Happy to see that movie get some love, i thought it was funny as hell, perfectly cast and Larry David as a nun? Cmon, that's brilliant
Loved the film.
I'd never heard of Chris before he did Three Stooges. It's hard to forget him now. He did an amazing job. The movie itself was not up to his ability.
Talk about commitment ! This guy has so much of my respect just for his drive alone
Absolutely loved that movie. He nailed it!
I HEARD THE FLASH SAY FUCK?!!!!!!!
Loved every moment.❤️❤️
I can’t believe how hard he pushed for this thing. Always assumed that he was cast right off the tick based on the strength of his interpretation, a’la Sasso’s Curly.
Only problem with that movie for me was using the actual Jersey Shore folks. Wished they used something that alluded to them. My son who was 9 at the time really enjoyed. Moe right in front of them!
This guy is so underrated and this story of him sharing the horrible tough experience of trying to get the role of Moe is just incredible. I am a fan of underdogs and you can tell Chris worked so hard, fought for the role and proved he can play Moe and the powers that be still didn't want him is just retarted and stupid at the same time. How can the producers, cast directors didn't see that this guy is a genius. I can't believe these hollywood producers are more focused on big stars and it shouldn't always be about getting big names, it about looking for the right talent and even with Chris proving to them and still not casting him is just puzzling.
I suspect that the producers wanted an actor with more name recognition than Chris. Sounds like business as usual in Hollywood.
@@daeuri When I saw the whole interview Chris mentioned first being Knoxville and then Azaria and both turned it down. That gets to show Hollywood being so one dimensional.
FML I wish they would untangle that headphone cord the guests use.
Chris was the highlight of the stooge movie, seeing the way he emulated moe down to the reactions and mannerism and the way moe would say things was a thing of beauty. Was watching moe in modern times. Wish they wouldve done another movie though
I love him 😍
We need "Moe" performances.....
I really like when he plays messed up characters like in Episodes or Sillicon Valley
Oh shit its Bryan from The Office
love this Greek man on Silicon Vallley funniest character on the show
First time I saw Chris is when he did that Robin Williams TV movie. It was behind the scenes of Mork and Mindy. He was brilliant then too.
He was the best part of the film if you ask me.
Loved that film. I was 12 and believed these were the same men from the original shorts (I’m dumb I know)
As a Stooges fan, I liked the movie. Those guys did a great job being the stooges. Its just really too bad that the Jersey Shore was in it. First off, I didn't want to see them, second, talk about instantly dating your movie.
That’s Hollywood. The saying is whoever was cast as the lead is never the directors or producers 1st choice.
Wait wait wait.... Moe is Russ Hanneman??!!
His Moe was spot on! He neiled the part!
Lol dis guy 😂
Awesome
Dear Host: I was born at the Queen of Angels Hospital in 1953. Lemme tell ya 'bout Hollywood. If you are unique and not swimming in mediocrity then ya better throw out the rules and listen to the muses when they suggest bold (not dangerous) action.
This Man wanted it, and got it
I like the 2012 three stooges but I like original they should’ve made a origin story of the three stooges
He, Sean Hayes and Will Sasso were great, too bad the movie wasn't better.
I realise acting in Hollywood is a business, but to get that opportunity to play a character within something you idolise must feel like pure fate, but to do all that work and prep, only for the role to somebody else must feel like a huge kick to the gut! (and maybe thoughts of 'what the hell did I do wrong...?' ) Luckily it all worked out in the end.
Thanks for uploading this, skin tags.
How did this guy go from The Three Stooges, to being Mickey Mouse, but also the dad in A Christmas Story Live? It’s too bad he busted his ass getting this role because nobody saw the movie and it bombed
Me and my kids love that movie. I thought it was frickin funny. And I’m pretty sure I seen him on “Hannibal” the series 🤔
I always thought Colin Farrell was Moe. I'm an idiot.
I have to concur with what a few others have said, I'm a huge Stooges fan (Iggy or Moe & Co.) and thought the movie would be absolute shit. Every clip I saw made me cringe (in the old sense, not the overused modern sense). But I saw the movie and it was great! In fact, there were a few times I forgot I wasn't watching the real Moe, Larry, and Curly. And this guy who played Moe was so dead on (so good I can't even believe the guy in the clip is the same guy who played him. Talk about losing yourself in the role!). The faces he made were great and hilarious.
I’m glad he got the part but Hank dodged a bullet
Russ Fxckin Hanneman
He was excellent as Moe.
Chris was brilliant as Moe
Did I like the movie? No. Not really. But I absolutely adored the actors cast as the Stooges - they were PERFECT.
They got the best actor for Mo, no doubt
The movie made 54mil but he only got a few hundred just because he said he would do it for free to get the part. Bare minimum is still not enough. Blackmailing with plenty of auditions. And it's a one time fee. Not a monthly pay. Royalties are nothing. This industry is cruel and money hungry. he has a family to feed.
all that for a movie that isn't that's pretty much forgotten. and that's despite it was about the three stooges
When I think of a make up artist for Three Stooges, I think of the Passion of the Christ.
Still baffles me that they thought this film would work and make money in 2012. I don't think it broke even after you account for marketing.
RUSSFEST
Doesn't mention once how he landed the role, when it was finally offered to him, or anything. What a stupid title for the video. Also, I don't know who the interviewer is, but between the constant interruptions, and the asking of questions several minutes after Chris had made a particular point, was beyond ridiculous. Love that movie, and Chris' dedication shows. "Outta the way, 3-P-O!!!" Hahahaha!
How did they get so far to hire Johnny Knoxville when he said he wasn't going to do an impression? Did he even have to audition?
Watched red notice a while ago and this guy was awful in it. I can't believe he made the final cut.
Didn't particularly like the movie. I get what they were going for and it could've been fun but the execution just missed the mark. The casting however, is spot-on. The actors nailed it.
This guy fucks!
Yes movie was not super great sure sure whatever BUT the Stooges. Were. Perfect.
The guys they cast as the stooges were INCREDIBLE....but the script sucked....the stooges do not belong in that environment. It was nothing but a bunch of Hollywood BS
My least favorite actor from Arrested Development. I found this guy to be annoying af
