I am Irish and we use a lot more butter, until smooth and creamy, then a drop of cream. Every family does it different, I try to add flavor to them, but you would think I committed a mortal sin in my family's eyes 😂 For a great leftovers, bubble and squeak is so good. You need a cast iron skillet, cabbage, mashed potatoes and a meat (ham, bacon, corn beef). Most important part, is once you start cooking it, Don't touch it.
Is sounds similar to colcannon? I’m French Canadian and we use more butter and cream as well. I went to catholic convent school growing up and we had bubble and squeak but I don’t think it had cabbage in it… I love seeing how ppl from all over one country make something compared to ppl from another country. One thing ppl all over the world have in common… the love of a good meal!
@@nicolagriffiths9974 we called that hash. Left over roast that was cooked with potatoes and carrots… all of that sliced and fried in a pan with butter and a sliced or diced onion!
This recipe is very underrated! I was VERY surprised when I tried it and almost cr**med! Thank you so much! Also, I was CACKLING when you chuckled after the 1 hr saute instruction!
Hello! I just wanted to say thank you so much for this recipe. I’ve been wanting to make good garlic mashed potatoes and wow!!! I just finished making them and they taste great!! 💗💗💗
I like your style. I've had mashed cooked in broth, everyone loved them at the dinner except me. Too salty & all I could taste was the broth but there was no garlic, that would have made huge difference imo.🥰🕊
Yes you are correct! But I wanted the potatoes to have a certain look for my thumbnail and I certainly nailed it! When I'm not filming my food most times I'll leave the skin on.
Hey I just learned about roasted garlic! check out Rachel Rays video on it for potatoes, and also Catherine's Plates video "ROASTED GARLIC, How To Roast Garlic". Also, yellow potatoes have a better taste and smoother texture than russet. Also I'm going to use my chicken soup as a broth. I actually make bone broth out of the chicken bones after the soup is done, then strain that and put it back into the chicken soup leftovers. You put the bones in a crockpot WITH the chicken soup, and cook on low for 12 hours to make bone broth. btw I just realized Rachel Ray is a man! look at her crotch and man hands! they get the voice fixed with surgery. :(
All the flavor, vitamins and minerals of the potatoes were left behind in that boiling salt water, through the process of osmosis. . So you need a ton of butter and creme to give it some flavor. NEVER boil a potato in water, unless it is whole with its skin on, if you like to keep the flavor and goodness of it intact.
She didn’t say regular whipped cream she said heavy whipping cream. It is a cream used to make to make creamy dishes, and it’s what is used to MAKE whipped cream
@SkylerBouchard Mashed potatoes are a staple side at everyday meals. We make dishes that are special for Thanksgiving. We do not do such a common, easy and boring dish like mashed potatoes that are served routinely with basic dinners during a regular week. KFC serves mashed potatoes 24/7.
Just made these and they are so good! Thank you

Yes the broth threw me off!
I would not have wasted the potato skins that’s the best part, and where most of the nutrition is found

Can I use garlic paste as a additional ingredient? Or will that be too much garlic?
Yes, absolutely!
@@TheSimpleWaywithDelila Okay thank you 😊

Looks good but I've never heard of using chicken broth and chicken bullion. Can I skip those ingredients ?
I put 1/3 cup Mayo in addition to the other ingredients. That’s the Southern version! ❤️
🤮🤮🤮
@@bellamonroe7322 never tried it but sounds good
Can u use chicken stock if you don’t have chicken broth
Of course!
❤️❤️
👍👍👍👍👍

Everyday season
Can you use milk instead of heavy cream
Yes
Thank you for a well made video. So many are flashy and terrible. I wonder how many potatoes you cook for a certain # of people.
Looks delicious. Sadly I can't add salt or seasoning with salt because of my high blood pressure.
How many potatoes for 1 person?
I must tell you, you really, really have nice hands nails are clean, beautiful I love your hands.
Why not just use garlic butter
M m m good
Iesha, Mr. Guy? She like where she is now & if so how come?, Brittany, crushs?
A hour? 😂😂😂
Why yu say half like dat 😂😂

I Watched With The Voice Off 🤦🏽♀️

Just regular whipped cream? Wtf!?
