The plastic that the canisters fit on get really dirty over time. How to get sludge out of the nooks and crannies seems impossible. Is there a solution that I can soak these in that will work?
My filtration: Fisrt stage (3 cartridges + RO) 1- polypropylene 2- cardon block 3- polypropylene (this second polypropylene prevents the carbon particles from clogging the RO membrane by increasing its useful life) 4- RO membrane Second stage is RI filtration (2 cartridges) 5- DI mixed (60/40) 6- DI mixed (60/40)
So there were several things in here that are just not quite right for example ro filters tend to last a lot more than a year. You also left out the time needed to purge the di resin after change. Last time I purged mine it was 4 tds in and 250 out until it purged
I have a question for you. I replaced my sediment filter, both carbons, and my R.O. cartridge. I ran about 100 gallons through the system and my TDS coming in is 155 and my TDS coming out of my system is still 5 ppm. runs through the anode then the cathode then the mix bed and I'm still getting 1 TDS. Any idea what is going on?
First I’d confirm tds with a handheld unit. If still the same and mix bed isn’t depleted then you must have not packed the mix bed in hard enough. The mix bed is what will produce 0 tds. So if it’s not the issue is there. Maybe a seal didn’t seat right too
@@eatsleepreef9565 I was getting about 1tds out of the ro unit, which is why I replaced all my filters, and I'm now getting 5tds 😅 not sure how that works, especially with a TDS of 155 coming in at 60psi lol my mix bed is about 60% consumed. I have new resin, so maybe I will just change it out.
Discovered three things. First being that I remember putting the foam ring into the cap, than tightening it down. Which folded the foam over the lip, making it not seal well. Second I cleaned the TDS probes in the t's, the pvc gets scraped and little flakes attach to the probes giving false readings. Finally, the d.i. mix bed was changing color from the top, down. Should be bottom up right? Haha I think that was from the foam ring again

If you also add another membrane you will be doubling your output and halving your “waste” water

So you changed your 4 stage into a 7 stage? I want to buy the 6 stage they sell.

Try the new resin and let me know how that goes.

You should try the water saver upgrade also.
