I’ve watched dozens of tutorials for auto repair with decent success, but I found your video to be one of the best and most comprehensive and well thought out videos I’ve watched. Thanks for your info and help. Liked and subscribed!
Thank you for a terrific video. Everything went as you exhibited, except the locking tabs on the electrical sockets on each sensor did NOT want to release. That was the toughest part of the job. Due to the age, of the plastic tabs, they simply broke. I re-installed them and locked them down with electrical tape. Done!
Most of us have had enough beer drinking, animal comments, rumbling about things that have NOTHING to do with getting your vehicle back on the road, one hand working one hand filming, dark garage video, & the worse, the videos with the LOUD LOUD music... So your videos Sir are greatly appreciated, keep up the good work, three thumbs up....
3 yr old video fresh subscriber. Excelent video and thank u for pointing put all screws and moat importantly the tidbit at the end about configuring the iac. I just bought it and they told me remember to put ur key in the on position a frw times before cranking it so it configures. Thank u from mexico🇲🇽
I'm having problems with my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo diagnose same thing is happening to my Jeep fixing to fix it now that it's raining here in Houston great video and diagnose everything from one point to the other
I believe I broke the plastic off the end of the throttle cable. I super glued it and hoping it'll work. Out of the 3 lines that you took off, it was the one closest to the camera
Just did it to mine, the tps was stuck in the plastic where it plugs into, I was able to get it out and scuffed up the 18 year old plastic, I put in my new one and used electrical tape to hold it in secure, helped with my transmission shifting too.
Good video my brother, im tryna get my mobile mechanic business started. Im happy to see another brother like myself. Keep the vids coming, also are you in the DMV?? Im originally from the area and you just sound like it. Keep grinding brotha
BARRICADE GARAGE ok kool. Ill be sure to stay tuned. Oh i saw you had the newer milwaukee ratchet in another video. I just got one myself, they make some pretty good stuff. Im tryna save up for their new high torque impact
+Guty Perez its possible your A.C Compressor is locking up, causing your engine not to turn. Either the compressor is shot, or you have a bad IAC or other air/fuel problem, and the extra load is enough to kill the engine.
Great video 🤟🏼 Maybe my obsession compulsive disorder but doing all that work I would of cleaned the Throttle Body out while replacing them sensors.. I have tried two different PCM refurbished from Rockauto first one would stall when you put a little pressure on the wire harness so I had to buy another one for 350 and wait until it got here and still waiting for the refund for the first one. But then it started acting up again and crank no start until I put pressure on the pcm wire harness.. so I got some heavy duty 24 inch zip ties and tightened the clips to stay in place. I believe all my clip tabs are broken so maybe that is what is wrong with it.. while at it I use to notice a high idle then dropped idle. It went away but still real low idle enough to where I question will it stall out. So I just purchased the Iac, TPS, Map sensors and a throttle body gasket and a can of throttle body cleaner. It should arrive 12/3/24 and I’ll be doing this same concept. I did clean the top part of the Throttle Body and the IAC.. I hope this fixes my low idle. I know since it is cable pull Throttle body it will still half ass work with sensors being bad. I would also have a hesitant acceleration at times when I first try to take off and accelerate but after a few minutes that goes away.. this jeep was going to be easy to fix when things broke is what I thought at first… but when this all occurred I replaced the ignition coil, camshaft sensor, rotor, Distributor cap, Spark plugs and wires, fuel injectors, new battery and terminals, Crankshaft sensor, starter, fuel pump, and turned out my PCM was going out.. so I bought one and it was defective and bought another one…. 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 6L 4x4.. are not cheap to maintain.
Thanks for the video, it’s self explanatory. Quick question; Is the Intake air temperature sensor and the Map sensor near by? I’m trying to figure out where they’re located. I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 L
I replaced the crankcase breather system, placing an air filter at the inlet and outlet, removing the pcv valve and oil vapor is coming out of the air inlet filter. I ask if something is wrong. ZJ 5.9.
My 04 Jeep 6 cyl 4.0 has started to idle around 1,500 to 2,000 rpm on start up. This is ridiculous. What could be the cause? And, my oil pressure gauge fluctuates when I come to a stop. Could it be dirty oil and filter? Help?
I have a question for you sir,,,my 1998 Grand Cherokee ...have a irregular idling needle...and the engine sound..its like as if step on a gas pedal whichs i did not...and the odometer lights is blinking when the engine is onn....
Sometimes I stall when pressing the gas after a stop, and now also when the AC is on and I am stopped with my foot on the brake. I hope these or one of these is my problem.
I have a rough start takes 2 or three cranks If I hold the first it just turns over never starts have to turn key all the way back and forward again sometimes 3-4 times.. changed fuel pump entire assembly and fuel filter (because it seemed the return valve went bad) i changed with aftermarket, mechanic said to get a MOPAR I did get brand new MOPAR and it started right up for a day and then issue returned... , changed temp sensor ( because w/ sensor unplugged it seems to start first try), issue persists after changing temp sensor, Sprayed some cleaner in the throttle body and also sprayed electrical cleaner in the temp sensor connector plug, car started right up a few times in a row, changed spark plugs, car started right up few times.. then starting issue returned?? could it be the TPS or IAC? once running the car runs and idles great.. it does seem to accelerate on it's own sometimes up to like 25 MPH (random and not consistent), and also seems to hold speed some when letting off the accelerator also random not all the time
Great vid! I'm about to buy a 2004 grand cherokee 4.0. The owner says it stalls at lights, unless he shifts into neutral. Do you think this is realted to the TPS, IAC, throttle body, or any of the these? I'm thinking I might buy all 3 and it's easy enough to do a parking lot replacement.
Same issue at first then it went down and now idles at 1000, and won't decelerate unless I brake. I ordered the standard iac, but the needle seems to be a bit thicker than the oem one. Idk if there has anything to do with it. Let me know if you found a solution! Mines a 2001 cherokee sport i6

Mine now stalls and now engine light is on and a P1296 code. Was running better before cleaning IAC and throttle body and new spark plugs and new elbow vacuum boot. So running idle no ac, now ac on it stalled! If I let off gas it stalls.
what is that sencor by the trottle body called? I replaced the throttle position sencor about 6 months ago. bought it from Autozone.. could that have gone bad all ready? my 99 jeep grand cherokee limited starting running bad and kinda bucking when it goes in over drive. while driving at a cruising speed. this all started after replacing the transmission filter. I don;t understand why replacing the filter caused the motor to mess up
Speechless, my jeep idles funny after 20mins and under load she'll wanna stall/hesitate, turn her off and go to restart she wants to stall out. Then again my girl has 97k
@@barricadegarage5361 then I replaced the TPS and now the car would not start. This time, I have to step on the gas lightly and then start the car and hold the gas pedal for 3 minutes or else the engine dies. Please help.
I have a 4.0 jeep cherokee I have a car malfunction It is to turn off the car only if it is parked and in traffic jams But on the main streets the engine does not stop
Very dangerous to pull screws out over the intake hole! You should disconnect the the sensors first and the remove the screws away from the engine!👍 I see you put a towel in the intake manifold further into the video!👍✌
Great demonstration man. You didn't miss a beat plus this was straight to the point without a massive backstory for you and your car. Thanks so much.
Great detailed video, the music was low key which was absolutely NO distraction, camera shots & angles were excellent, keep up the good work....
Thanks for the step by step. Made the changes to my 04 WJ and she’s purring… 🥃🥃🥃
Great video, direct and clear, showing all of the steps, and the reasons why you did some stuff.

Excellent video. From diagnosis to repair, very well done. Easy to understand.
I'm about to go replace my TPS and I've done it before, but you're video and how you explain the purpose behind everything was awesome.
Thank you, sir for the video. You just explained my surging and rough idle of my 4.0L and a clear way to fix it!
From Lebanon is just wanna say. Thank you brother you just saved my life.

This was a great video! I had to rewatch a couple times but I got it! Thanks!

If I only need the throttle position sensor replaced, should I also change the idle air control valve as well? Or is it okay to change just the one?
Its ok to just change one
BARRICADE GARAGE thank you so much!
Yes

It is ok but since you right there, it's a good idea to change both so at least you know they both get new life at the same time and peace of mind.
