Update: This cleaning job worked and it's easy to do..... for my 98 Cherokee Classic XJ 4.0 time will tell more but right off it idles normal like it used to Thanks for the video.
My 98 Cherokee XJ is sometimes revving up and down in park . I cleaned the throttle body a couple years back but did not know about this idle air control valve until your video. I will try it today if the weather warms a little more. Thank you, if it works I will comment again, if not well I will have to think of perhaps replacing that little unit. Nice video - thanks (:
Hey thanks for watching. If that doesn’t work I’d replace the throttle position sensor (TPS) before replacing throttle body, it’s cheaper and more likely the culprit. I actually cleaned my IAC valve and it worked for a while then came back and then I replaced the TPS and it went away. Hope this helps and hope you sub.
Man I owe you a lunch ..if your ever in Hattiesburg Ms give me a call . 2001 jeep grand Cherokee 4.0 new fuel pump ,.cps , fuel filter. Idle rough put it in gear goes dead . Cleaned air idle purrs like a kitten . Thanks

If you get a new one do you have to reset the computer or anything? I thought I read somewhere you have to disconnect the battery and reset the computer
Hey thanks for watching! Yes you have to reset the computer. Just disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and it will reset the check engine light and computer. Hope this helps, don’t forget to subscribe!
@@nathanmccumber8965 you know what, i bought the cheaper throttle body from parts geek and the same cheaper one everywhere comes with the hose on it with an absurd bend in it, no flow, had to by the one with a proper 90 degree bend, worked fine.
