The Lost Boys, St. Elmo's Fire, 8MM, Falling Down are some of my favorite films of all time. He's a very talented director.

Director retros are what I love the most, especially the ones I've studied so thoroughly. I hope there's 100s of these.

This is likely the ballsiest and most courageous film-maker I've ever seen. Between movies like The Lost Boys, Prince of Tides, The Client, A Time to Kill, and (especially!!) 8mm... Joel Schumacher makes movies that ethically punch you right in the gut and refuse to let you off of the hook.

This was a great interview. Joel was not only a humble and nice guy, but a talented filmmaker. He directed some classics like Phone Booth, St. Elmos Fire, 8MM and Falling Down. RIP JOEL

Whenever I look at Joel, I see my grandma, she looks like him a lot, even the tender smile with the eyes. A pity I won´t get to know him anymore...

Not sure if he's a chomo,
      but he's definitely gay.
      If you watch his movies...
      many of them include either
baby-faced kids, pretty boys, beef cake,
      all-the-above or basically other
      various forms of homo-erotica.

RIP Joel Schumacher you have giving us a lot of fascinating movies we always love to watch again and again and I would rather watch your Batman movies more than the Zack Synder DC movies he directed because you are better at making personality than Zack Synder.
