  • Ready to see what the future of many stores and businesses may look like? Watch this video to find out!
In this video we return to a locally known Abandoned Ames department store. This location was filmed by me twice before and didn't have intentions on returning again, but since we were in the area, I decided to give a 2021 look at this decaying location. Do you enjoy when myself and others Explore Abandoned Places? I equally enjoy sharing them with you, but they aren't as easy to find & film anymore. But to get your abandoned fix, check out my Abandoned Remains playlist. With that said, let's get a 2021 look at the Abandoned Ames. Enjoy

This reminds me of the good old days..the 90s.. when we weren't stuck in the house on our phones as kids.. we would actually do chores throughout the week, save our allowances and spend the weekends with friends going to ames, record lane, the mall, etc..
Ames was one of my favorite places to shop at.. when the titanic movie came out ames brought out the blue heart necklace imitation and I begged my step dad for it and got it.. good memories..nostalgia..

@@JPVideos81 I wouldn't say that. Shamokin is full of history and awesome old architecture! I'm hoping that the city can somehow recreate itself through appreciation of it's singular history, art, and restoration of it's many amazing buildings. Admittedly small businesses will do better at this time than big corporate chains like Acme and Ames.

@@darialarned1538 I don't mean it in a negative way, but I know people from the area since I used to work down that way and as an old coal mining town, there's not a lot to offer for shopping or entertainment without traveling to nearby towns. I definitely agree that there's history there and I love coming to visit.

I remember the Ames store, I had had shopped there two or three times back in the 1990's while I was visiting New York. I wondered if it still existed. Thanks for showing JP.

That was an awesome update, surprisingly it looks in pretty good shape still. Why people have to vandalize and destroy any property is beyond me. The intro was so cool and I also love the tile in the bathroom, so neat! Wonder what that shrine was all about, that looked creepy. lol Still makes me so sad to see when stores like this close. Thank you once again for another great video!

Jay, awesome into. Wonder how many more years this will last before it is used for something else or torn down. Seems such a waste of building and land like so many others just like it. Be safe buddy😉👍

I'd love to see it re-purposed, but sadly the area isnt thriving and has little to offer.

Saw the piles of debris and loader when we drove by. Never got to see the inside of that one personally.

These abandoned department store videos make me sad for some reason. It’s like that part of my childhood is gone forever. It’s also a reminder that I’m getting old and times are changing, whether I like it or not. Oh well. Great video.

I remember shopping at ames when I was younger. It's crazy to see that there are still some ames buildings standing to this day. My store was always caldor. I miss it but what are you going to do.

I never heard of either store. Lol!
What a waste of a good building. That is a lot of concrete. So, aren't they going to make it any other store?
Short but sweet, thanks for the video.

Its been empty for a while and in a low income area, so the chance of a new business thriving there is slim.
