- We all know that adjustable gas blocks help regulate gas, make shooting suppressed better and so on. But they are a pain! Having to bring with tools, long hex keys. to get under the rail, all those days are gone. This is the best, most rugged way to approach the adjustable gas block that I've ever seen.

I have 1100 rounds on my 18” SPR with the RifleSpeed gas block. I never clean it, just put two drops of oil on the plunger and rotate the ring twice after every range session. No issues and no plunger erosion with full power 556.
The intro was pure AR ASMR...
I’ve put them on my last 3 builds I love them so easy to use
A very nice idea making gas adjustment easy and simple
I have that block with the 5 inch extension dial. Love it!
really neat idea
The other point, is that if you allow just enough gas for reliable ejection, you get more gas behind the bullet and more velocity.
Which is why the FAL has one from the factory. FALs can also SHUT the gas completely, making the gun into a bolt action, but putting all the power behind the bullet.
Nice that after 50 years, someone added a simple gas regulator for the AR.
Would love the bolt action adaption to the ar 15, would you be able to shut the gas completely with this regulator?
I've seen test of rifles with the gas block fully open and also fully shut. The difference in velocity is negligible. As in less than 10 fps. It is kind of surprising, but it doesn't make much of a difference.
Not really
If anyone doesn’t want to mess with any of this… buy an sig 516 upper. It has settings for suppressed and diverse conditions and zero gas blowback in your face suppressed. This was figured out long ago :)
Wow I love it, just the part I was looking for literally!
Thank You Rifle Speed,Thank You G&T OK,I now have installed the Rifle Speed gas system along with a mid-length gas system and a T-2 Buffer with the Rifle Dpeed gas Block right out of the Box ,set on #5 and my Rifle Now shoots like a Sewing machine! I can unload 5-6 shots without my barrel rising. It is Now Everything I Ever dreamed of! THANK YOU G&T You led me to this product and I am one Grateful Dude! Now we need one for an AK,They could just sell it attatahed to an AKM Gas Tube!
IV8888 did a meltdown with one of their own Argos uppers that had a RifleSpeed adjustable gas block and chunks were being eroded and entered the system of operation. It would be interesting to see if this would ever happen with a semi auto.
Excellent video
I'm on my 3rd now..one on my 300blk, 350 legend and AR308..I highly recommend on suppressed and non supressed ARs...
This is really cool. I'm just getting into AR building. I'm finishing up a pretty standard 5.56 AR-15 right now with an Aero upper, but I've got parts coming in to make my first .300 Blackout build, and I'm doing that one essentially from the ground up. I may have to get one of these gas blocks to upgrade my .300 Blackout build later. For now, she'll be sticking with the gas block I got from Ballistic Advantage.
That's pretty cool I've had really good luck with my Aero Precision adjustable gas block I like it because it's really low profile and it doesn't get into the handguard as easily and has plenty of adjustments and doesnt lock up
Same, and I have the old skeletonized . 625 on my faxon 16mid. I would love to have one like this where it's available at the end of the guard. I run suppressed and non essentially at 7clicks with similar ejection pattern and lock back
Looking good dude. Impressive weight loss.
Riflespeed gas block on my 10.5" with Sierra 5K............awesomeness.
Looks promising!

the best... for realsies.
I felt the need to double up on the wave springs since my dial had a little bit of play but over 500 rounds through it so far and it's been great
I did the same thing..
I just added the RS gas block to two of my rifles. Immediately noticed the single spring just did not feel like it was enough for positive detents. And the block does indeed work great.
I would consider these now that the price has came way down💰😉
Agree. Mandatory for ar-10.
Beautiful; I got one bad thing for you; PRICE, LOL and needing a straight gas tube helps a lot with prices as well, really nice technology and like all innovations out of the hand of some enthusiasts, so I will stick to Odin and AP Thanks for the video.
Randomly fell into this video. Judging by the sponsors on your website, I'd make a strong guess we live VERY close to each other.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm fairly new to the "building" world and am starting a .300 blk PDW build and was wondering just how concerned do I need to be when it comes to replacing a "low-profile" gas block upper with this oen from RifleSpeed? Will most handguard diameter's be acceptable? Thanks again.
The next best thing to piston guns!
The AR is a piston gun lol..
@@hairydogstail Generally, the AR is a direct gas impingement. AKs are piston guns.
The Stoner gas system is an internal piston. Stoner's patent even describes it as such..The carrier is the chamber and the bolt is the piston.
The Mini14 is more of a DI than the AR15..True DI's don't use a piston...@@mikelyon5595
What are the jigs you use to dimple and pin your blocks? Thanks for the great video.
SLR
Wonder if you could put that in a kodiak defence wk181c
For the 300 blk out try using an adjustable gas key instead, i have one in my pistol length gas system. I purchased the key and installed to my bcg no issues encountered. I don’t shoot suppressed and I reload my own ammo just an option to consider.
What is a gas key.
Do they make these as a piston?
Does it work with 7.5 barrel and any handguard
would it work on a 7.5" barrel ?
The install will be more than 95 percent of AR owners will be able to do.
That's why we have gunsmith
Why is the gas block straight can you please tell me that thanks like your videos
Wait…RUclips wasn’t mad about that intro sequence?! That’s awesome! Also, was this a reupload from last year or what?
That’s why I had to re upload
@@GunsandTactics ahhhh ok I see all of the info you added in the description.
Cool idea and each their own however just creating a point of failure in my opinion. Another point you have to look. What happens when that spring gets weak from excessive heat?
That’s kind of what I thought. Better slightly over gassed with a fixed system than having another potential point of failure. It’s all relative though. Whatever makes sense to me and you won’t be what someone else wants.
Where do I buy?
What rail and barrel length on that gun?
Please tell us what can, mount, and flash hider setup you have on that SBR. Thanks!!
He's got some type of KeyMo mount and the can is a Dead Air Sandman S
Great idea. But 200$$ nope. I'll keep my aero adjutable and just carry a single 8" allen
I've been waiting for a .625 version.
They have it now on their site.
👍
Which model for a spikes tactical Spartan with a 16” criterion barrel. I believe it’s 13” handguard. And then another 13” handguard with 20” barrel?
I think the plunger can wear from excessive firing, I think 8.6 or 300 blackout would work really well
I own multiple of them but I don’t recommend it for either of those. Because the range on it is not enough to go from supers to subs and the plungers don’t get out of the way enough. Couldn’t get a 300 blackout with subs(only supers cycled violently) to cycle with a .846 plunger(smallest one then cut it down further). On setting 12(wide open) 1.2 ounce buffer 11 ounce BCG, and subsonic 300 blackout spring. Swapped it out for a standard one and the gun cycled too fast. The gas block lives on my 22” Grendel precision gun now. That works fine. It really can only keep a tune in the range of max pressure 5.56 to min pressure 223 with and without a suppressor.
If you want it to work you have to max out the efficiency of your gun and MAYBE you’ll get lucky but get ready to blow money on expensive ammo.
Use a bore scope and you can find a adjuster pin that will open and close all the way on a Rifle Speed adj gas blcok..@@ShepherdOfTheSilkies
@@hairydogstail I have a .857 pin…. Gas block is aligned…. I know what I’m doing I have 4 guns with the same riflespeed AGB none worked on that barrel configuration
No you don't. It is easy to look at the plunger in a bore scope and see the distance the plunger moves when adjusting..@@ShepherdOfTheSilkies
@@ShepherdOfTheSilkies I don't see how it wouldn't be possible to get it working? It goes from fully opened to fully closed if you have the right plunger
This is my favorite gas block for everything but subsonic compatible guns. It’s the most durable and maintainable system on the market.
why not subs?
@@tedundercarriage8183 adjustment range issues. Never could get a reliable cycling, subsonic gun with the gas block no matter what combinations I tried, and how light I made everything. On the 300 blackout I used as a test bed, I minimized everything to the point where it can no longer shoot supersonic either reliably due to bolt bounce causing partial extraction of the fresh round. Even at wide open or with the dial 2 rotations(pressed the detent to let it go past 12) out it was still too restrictive.
@@ShepherdOfTheSilkies did you change the rod? they sell different lengths to change the adjustment range
@@tedundercarriage8183 I changed the plunger with sizes they sell and then shorted one even more. The only time I got cycling was when I ran 300 blackout subsonic specific items in the gun with hand loaded subs that achieved 1000 fps out of the 10.5 barrel. Even made the gas port .080 on a pistol gas system. But even then it was not reliably cycling. The same gas block works on my 6.5 Grendel AR with a 22” barrel suppressor and rifle length castgas system.
Then your rifle is under gassed and has nothing to do with the adj gas blcok..Open the barrel port..@@ShepherdOfTheSilkies
Cool gas block. Unfortunately it doesn’t work for my SBR because I’m running a 7.5” barrel and a 7” hand guard. I have an ASR muzzle brake/suppressor mount. And there would be no way to adjust this gas block once installed. I went with an Aero Precision block with single tool click adjustment.
could cut the handguard a bit.
What armorers wrench are you using and what do you use to hold your upper in the vise?
Midwest Ind for both.
why isnt this popular or the new normal ?
It’s like lettuce- lattis
Great video Dave. The best and most informative video of the Riflespeed toolless adjustable gas block in the intraweb. Thank you! Be safe! 🤙🪖👮🙏🇺🇲
Thank you for the kind words, really appreciate it.
where can i get the jig for drilling the barrel?
ruclips.net/video/E2n5wrc73fQ/видео.html
Sure would be nice if they ever got around to releasing the .875 models. We've been waiting forever RifleSpeed...do you just hate money or what?😅
Jealous of any man with a mill!! Anybody know what model that was?
The mill?
Is it just a drill press? Couldn’t really see the machine
It’s a grizzly bench mill Great for small shop projects.
@@GunsandTactics looks like it spun pretty true I figured it had to be a mill.. you pretty happy with it?
This or the superlative gas block?
Depends on your use but I have more of these than any other. If I know it’s a set and forget then others can work but if you’re going back and forth nothing beats these.
Will not fit on 16 inch barrels with midlength gas and a 15 inch handguard
Did you check their builder chart? They might have a solution knob that would work.
I use them on mine..
Had mine for almost 2 years. It's great but you're behind the time
This is a re upload. Made this a long time ago but had to take it down over a policy issue. Been running them for around 2 years as well they are great
@@GunsandTactics ah gotcha.
How do they hold up?
Awesome, I have some on my main suppressed guns and no issues. Every few thousand or so I wipe it down, clean the plunger.
@@GunsandTactics is this better than a bootleg adjustable bcg or do they compliment each other? The bcg is just easier to install initially.
Great form and function, just costs about 50 dollars too much for what it is. I keep hoping they'll come down some day.
I have one, my rifle only shoots when its on 12. It's not all that great, go with a cheaper adjustable gas block that is just as good.
You can get different pistons to tune to your needs. I still haven’t found a better solution for a no tool gas block.
@@GunsandTactics interesting. any suggestions on one I should go for?
@@ryanking4942 If you reach out to them and talk to Kyle, he is the gas nerd (in a good way). If you tell him what ammo/barrel and what you have now and settings it runs and doesn’t he could recommend which piston size youd need depending on what you want, ie if you want to add a suppressor, different ammo etc. He is one of the smartest guys in the biz when it comes to this stuff.
If you have the right weight buffer in your rifle all those changes are unnecessary
Awesome? People still use that word? That is so 1980s.
Thanks for watching, we love awesome comments like this.
But for real the word fits well here. Awesome: extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension, or fear
why is it so difficult to put whatever device you are talking about in the description so i can look it up without watching the entire video?? downvoted for wasting time.
Im not sure what you mean, how can I help?
After showing how to disassemble for cleaning this is probably a no go for pin n weld builds🥲
