For 3 weeks now I have been binge watching your channel and all of your videos are very informative and well put together! Thank you for the great content!
Still one of the most entertaining, informative and fun video sites I come across. Always leaves me hungry while encouraging me to go out and try different Thai foods. Have eaten three of your five chosen dishes on this one. I must try and do better!
Hahaha, thanks a lot for the kind words. There will be another 5 recommendations in tomorrow's video - 5 noodle dishes you should try in Thailand. Thanks fr watching and commenting!
DARREN- All of us love you & your family, and wish you the BEST for 2018 and hope for many more excellent videos as you can only make- it's what we appreciate!!!!!!!!
1st thing Ning does when she gets home in Khon Kaen. Mango and sticky rice and durian. You must love spicy. Cant eat the sausage and bite down on chillies ha ha . Love your vlogs and thanks for sharing.
New Sub! I love to see you and your family together 😍 you have such a beautiful family! Please keep them coming in the videos! And let your wife try it all, I love her reactions to the different types of food!

Great video Darren!! I thought you guys looked pretty comfortable in this one. All of the foods looked yummy too. As always, so many kind and smiling faces. It's like they never meet a stranger. Happy New Year to you and the family. Hugs for you all as always 😄

Hi Darren, love your videos of Thai food. I'll be visiting Phuket and Bangkok in a few days. Is there mosquito problems there? Should I have mosquito repellent?
Thanks Calle. You will probably see some mosquitoes and repellent is generally recommended by doctors when visiting Thailand. These are the repellents we use, they are very effective, come as a spray and a lotion, and are available at all 7-11s in Thailand: www.dhresource.com/0x0s/f2-albu-g5-M01-BC-A3-rBVaI1kShESAcNcsAAFqSyBCat4790.jpg/thailand-soffell-mosqulio-repellent-mosquito.jpg
Doing it really tough over there in Krabi, Darren. I've got to go back there in 2019. That market looks amazing! I've never tried those Northern Thai snags. They must have them in Thanin market Chiang Mai. I'll check them out in Feb. I'll also try the mango dessert. I'm pretty partial to Khao Tom Mat (banana variety) but love trying new things. Guess you still had your mate crewing for you. He does a great job of framing the close up shots and gets excellent reactions from vendors in the market. You make a good team.
Hahaha, yes mate, we're struggling on ;). You really should try sai ua, I'm sure you'd find them at every market in Chiang Mai. I'm a big fan of khao tom mat too, they are great. Yes, my friend was helping with this one again, he is a brilliant cameraman.
LOL...Aorn trying to take Ananda's orange slushie when you were buying the Chung Mai ? Sausages and Ananda was not letting go of his slushie bag. America really needs to start offering those bags at fairs/carnivals or for walking the street. Sometimes I want a drink but don't want to have to hold the damn cup when a bag can dangle ROFL....Another good vid Darren...I know I could never resist those dang sausages. Happy New Year to you and the fam!!!
Yes, he doesn't like giving up his slushies :). And yes, those bags are very handy, they certainly make carrying a drink a lot easier when you have your hands full. Glad you enjoyed the vid, Happy New Year to you and your family too!
Awesome as usual Darren and the B3 team. 👍👍👍 loving it and what a great video to start off the new year with. So much variety of yummy Thai food. You guys always know how to make me very hungry but I’m not complaining. Thai food is the best. PS I’m the first person to make a comment on your 1st video of 2018. 👍 A Big thumbs up from all of us in Perth Western Australia.
Thanks a lot mate, I hope you have some tasty Thai within reach! Happy New Year to all in Perth, WA, and everyone outside of Perth too, for that matter. May 2018 be a brilliant year for all of us 👍 👍
darrenb3 I'm a single muslim 43 year old from the USA. my pension is about 700 dollars a month. do you think it's enough to retire in krabi? nothing fancy just A/C and internet are a must for me.thanks
I know an American guy who was surviving on 9,000 baht (roughly $275 US) per month in Krabi in 2013, so yes, it would be possible. I pay 5,000 baht (roughly $153 US) per month rent and have A/C in the main bedroom. My monthly internet bill is 650 baht (roughly $20 US) per month.
Ditto Graig Prince, I'm on holiday catching up with family and friends in Victoria Australia, back home to Patong on the weekend , cheers guys. Sawadee te mai.
Where do you put the left overs from your tastings? I can never find a rubbish bin in Thailand! Will be there next week to try all your recommendations!
I either take plastic containers from home, or ask the staff to pack any leftovers into bags or containers. Yes, unfortunately it can be difficult to find bins in Thailand, we often end up taking our rubbish home with us. Outside 7-11s is one place you will always find a bin. Hope you have a great holiday!
Thanks Darren for sharing the videos. Just came back from Chiangmai and I enjoy very much my 2 weeks holidays. I have tried those 5 Thai street food there and it was very delicious. Anyway wish you have had a Wonderful Christmas and New Year. Wish 2018 will be a great year for you and your family and hope your channel more success and have many more subscribers. Always grateful to learn some extra vocabulary. Can you make a review with provincial specialities; different types of curry and soups...Yes, it's tricky to open those little bags of sauce ;-) and for sure, we'll want to stay in Thailand....amazing country/food/people/culture...
It certainly can be tricky to open those bags :). We probably won't get a chance to travel for a few months now, but yes, we'll try and do some provincial specialities when we can. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Caroline! Yes, that som tam was delicious. You can order it with as many chilies as you want, usually 3 is perfect for my taste. Aorn got an extra spicy one recently that nearly made her cry :D. I hope you're having a great day in the Netherlands!

i would like to come to krabi, are the cost of living similar to phuket, also how far are your from the beach?
We live about 10 minutes from the beach. I find most things in Phuket to be more expensive than in Krabi.
i will have to visit, as I am looking at living where there is a nice beach & a lower cost of living
worth watching again..still as tasty
Thanks :)
You can speak Thai👍😊

"Kind" - having been to Thailand 20 + times and not being an expert - that is the word I would choose to describe the general population.
Yes, that word can be used to describe most people I come across too.
nice infermation
yummy
Who's recording you guys?
One of my friends helped with the camera in this video.
can you eat anything that is not spicy over there?
Yes, there are lots of things that aren't spicy here, as shown in many of my videos.
Like nas.
can I survive on 700usd a month in krabi?
I know an American guy who was surviving on 9,000 baht (roughly $275 US) per month in Krabi in 2013, so yes, it would be possible.
darrenb3 is there a decent muslim community or do I have to go further south?
The population is Krabi is roughly 50% Muslim.

Is it just me or did it seem like the lady selling sausages doesn't like foreigners too much? Got kind of a smart ass vibe from her.
She always says "Hi" to me when I see her at markets, I've always found her to be lovely.
Interesting content whether you want to be my friend
