One comment that brought me to tears, was when a teacher said my son was a quiet leader. Everyone else has said he was too quiet. Needed to project himself more. To be more confident etc. This one teacher said he was able to lead a group without people even realising he was doing it. That he had a quiet confidence. This struck me to the core for some reason. He saw beyond what people class as confident and saw my son for who he really is. A special teacher for sure.😊
Thank you for sharing this, I found this very moving and heartwarming✨ It really is so true what his teacher said. Quietly confident people are known to be good leaders without even knowing it or intending to be. I think it’s knowing themselves and leading by example others recognise this and that instills confidence in them as a leader to their troops. What a lovely compliment and way of recognising what confidence really means. Wishing you all the best☺️🫶
@@lagomhollyThank you. I totally agree. He would never put himself forward to organise or lead. People just seem to look to him for guidance. He’s happy to quietly help. 😊
Also me ... and really some areas of my life self-awareness went into my 50-60's. I know it is kind of semantics, but confidence and self-awareness seem 2 different things to me. I KNOW that I am not confident in casual social settings. I don't need to do them often. I am comfortable with "serious" conversation but absolutely HATE small talk. I can do it but it is not me and I never feel good after. Ultimately, I am comfortable in myself and believe that I am aware of strengths and weaknesses, but I also think that it is a life long process to stay peaceful in my own self.
I think that quiet confidence usually comes over time. At first you need courage to do what you're not good at, then courage to learn what you need to learn, then you'll gain skills and be confident, but most of us don't have time to learn everything. At the end of the day, we have to accept who we are and what our strength and weaknesses are, and people who care for you will look past your flaws. Great vid, Holly.
Thank you for sharing this, a really good way to put it!😊 I do agree it’s a cycle that grows in strength the more you do try things, you grow confidence! I also agree the right people will stay around who accept you for who you are!✨ Thank you for watching🫶
I also want to add that knowing what your good at means knowing what you can delegate to others to uplift their strengths. It’s a sign of a good leader, and usually good leaders are not the loudest in the group.
Love this Holly. Confidence is the by-product of knowing who you are, not something you actively try to achieve. And the deeper you go, the more you find that confidence has very little to do with the things we sometimes identify with on a superficial level.
Really glad you enjoyed this thank you!☺️ I love the point you’ve made here and couldn’t agree more! Knowing ourselves and who we are is what confidence is and fundamentally you can’t forge that! Wishing you the best✨
I love your content, I've been binge watching anytime I get a chance. Reminds me it's okay to be single and to focus on myself and my relationship with myself before finding someone new 😊 Happy spring walking 🌎
Absolutely! It’s more than okay to be single and enjoy time with yourself! It’s the most important relationship you’ll ever have so mights as well make it a special one!🫶✨
Came across this video, it resonates with me because I was always a shy person and not have confidence in myself, as I got older I feel more confident and not as shy and being more self-aware. Thank you for sharing this ✨🫶 looking forward to more of your content!
Thank you for sharing your experiences here!☺️ It’s so nice to hear this resonated with you too and that you’ve embraced your unique self!✨ Wishing you all the best🫶
When I didn't know myself so well (in my 20s) I thought introversion and mild shyness was some kind of disability. As I got older I found out about introversion and how you still can be confident whilst being quiet. My shyness has improved especially knowing now that in many cases, the loudest person in the room is often the least self assured and the least capable. I just wish I knew this 20 years ago.
Thank you for sharing this and your experiences!☺️ I do agree that the front we see of others is only just a perception and can often be misleading compared to what’s going on internally! Quiet confidence is something I wish I knew earlier too but it’s reassuring to know there’s nothing wrong with being introverted & you can be equally as confident without the facade! It’s better you know it now than never!🫶✨
Lovely scenery to express your message holly, both go hand in hand..i think when you aquire quiet self confidence you start to realise your place in the universe, you strip down your allusions and delusion..and get to the nub of who and what you are,and park the ego away out of site.. people who are loud and over the top are normally the weakest in terms of real inner strength..for anybody who is interested Holly, and who follow this channel,i saw a film today called,"perfect day's", by wim wenders..it encapsulates everything you say in your video's about appreciating the beauty in the small things in life and its beautiful simplicity.. Keep up the great work holly!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts here, I really do resonate with everything you’ve said and find it to be very true! Thank you for your recommendation too I will definitely add it to my watch list!🤓 Sounds right up my street☺️ Wishing you the best!✨
Love this message Holly! I've recently been contemplating this topic confidence a lot. For the longest time I battled with putting on the mask of stereotypical extroverted "confidence". I've come to realize whilst watching your video that it was due to a lack of competence. Whilst our work/career certainly isn't everything, it's where the majority of us spend the most of our time. I was in the wrong line of work & lying to myself about the belief in my work suffering with imposter syndrome. I now work in a slightly different field & have been loving/enjoying what I do & excelling in the role, which has led to the quiet confidence you mention. Life seems so much more effortless with it. Great video, looking forward to the next 😊
Thank you for sharing your experiences here, I can relate to a lot of what you’ve said. I totally agree regarding our generation placing such emphasis on work (which is important of course given how much time we spend doing it) but it’s got to be right as the wrong career/job can be detrimental! I think aligning with our true selves is the key and when work does that it’s a sweet combination with high likelihood of satisfaction! So glad you’re happier where you are now and feeling more aligned🙂 Wishing you the best!✨
I can listen to you talk about this and similar topics all day. Your rich vocabulary and eloquence gives me confidence that you researched this topic with care. I just want to make one point: I’m not sure if confidence is instinctive. It seems like confidence can be strengthened is you train on the task or topic you are trying to master. I guess I am saying that confidence is more of something to be mastered than to be something we are born with. Please keep making more of these introspection type videos. I resonate with knowing thyself and inner growth.
Really glad you enjoyed this one!😊 I do agree with what you’re saying here, by no means is confidence something we’re born with naturally - I think it’s a combination of experience and perspective. But from my own experiences I developed confidence by knowing myself deeply and what values and beliefs are important to me. Then I am able to move through life according to these and develop competence in areas I know align with them and I am inherently good at. It’s all encompassing for me but those two elements seemed to be the major pieces of the puzzle! I could talk about this for hours for sure🤣 Thank you for sharing your thoughts here too!
Another enjoyable and .listenable video Holly.you have such a wise head on young shoulders. I wish I had had that at your age. You are helping people with these videos more than you know. Thank you 🙏
I subscribed to your channel after this video caught my eye. I like your unconventional themes. As somebody on the Autism Spectrum the woodlands particularly help me escape from conventional society. Your themes awaken my childhood memories of growing up in nature. I was born and bred in the lowland regions of European woodlands in Belgium in the 1970's and 1980's.
Nice video, Holly! You know, I am super confident about my main life goal (which is not dependent on my career) but in terms of getting a job, for example, I feel pretty incompetent! lol ... Have a nice day! Greetings to the UK!
Thank you Harry! That’s really good to hear you feel confident with your main life goal and I wish you the best with it!🤞✨ Thank you for watching and your support as always!☺️

I have always been a very ‘quietly confident’ person, however as an quiet introvert, this is not always evident to others
That’s very true! I agree a lot with you there🙂

A great book to read is "quiet" by Susan Cain.
Funnily enough it’s been on my reading list for ages and I’ve just ordered a copy!😆 Can’t wait to read it, I’ve heard great things!😊
