As a black child growing up in Detroit, James Bond and Sean Connery was my hero, for Christmas I was bought all the 007 toys. Just to pay homage to my hero and to see a black person portraying his role I am going to the theater to watch for first time in over 30 years. RIP Mr. Connery and thanks for all the joy.
Where are the black women or even women of color in this movie? I love me some Idris but is he going to be the "only" person of color in this movie. I'm on the fence about this movie. Glad for Idris though.
He meets the quota. Same as the female black 007 in the last film, swapping miss money penny for a black woman, making Q be gay, making CIA guy black too. Making Daniel Craig James Bond cry. Making james bong weak so that only a woman could save him and beat up all the men while he struggled 😅

My list is 1) Connery 2) Brosnan, 3) Moore, 4) Craig, 5) Dalton, 6) Lazenby. I love Elba, but I think Bond needs new and young blood. Problem is its hard to take a risk. They took a risk on Connery, and years later discovered he was also a great actor. Won an Oscar. 👍
Think James Bond character is good for their respective generation. I feel the 70s to 80s was the era of Roger Moore, and each of his 7 movies weaved a magic of its own.... Worth watching them over and over again.

I am 60. I started watching Bond movies with my Mom and Dad. I have seen them all. Except “In Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. Took me a while to get over Connery being gone.
Sean Connery, a serious and a strict James Bond, Roger Moore bit funny comedy and Pierce Brosnan serious bit comedy also. The three have one in common they are all fit to the role apart from being tall they are handsome and very smart to look in their characters they potray.
