I was in high school 74-78. No words i can type can explain the rock magic of that era. Those were the days.....yes yes they were. Im 64 and still listen to classic rock all the time. Rock on!
Love me some Foghat! They became very popular in my college years and, man, they were playing on every stereo along with The Steve Miller Band, Skynard, Marshall Tucker etc. The ‘70’s and ‘80’s were the greatest years of music with actual talented musicians vs today’s music where most is now electronics!!! Oh, we loved some Wild Cherry and Commodores funk too!
The Live Version of Foghat’s Slow Ride is the Best version In my opinion.. We used to crank it in my 75 Chevy Van with the Craig power play box speakers before I upgraded my sound system to something louder .. 🤘🏼😆🤘🏼🎸🎶🎵💯
45th best car ride!!! Lol it was and still is my Favorite Cruising Song of ALL TIME!! In my ALL TIME top 5 PERIOD!! Started my watching reaction videos with this GEM!!! Glad you guys enjoyed something from back then that some of us heard daily, multiple times daily and were happy we did!!! 👍👍👍 At my job a coworker and I hooked up new speakers for our general meeting area and had to adjust the speakers, well I couldn't think of a better song than this to do it.. All our lift drivers stopped in their tracks and freaked!!! Air guitar, dancing, it was Awesome!!! Yes, I'm that dude at work from that point on to DJ our meetings!!! Rock On!!!
This song only made it to 20 because the competition when this came out was exceptional. 1974-1977. So much great music that has stood the test of time!
This song has been in so many movies, so I knew you guys would recognize it once it got going. This is and always will be a jam. It's a must for playlists. Keep rockin' fellas! Much love from Oregon! ❤
I gotta say, this is one of the best reactions to a song. Watching you guys eating it up. Appreciate all the different styles leading up to that ass kicking end. You guys nailed it.
Rod Price, great overlooked slide guitarist from the 70's. People can't remember everyone forever, but Rod could really really play, and Foghat made a lotta people smile back in the day.
I love seeing reactions to songs that have been a part of my life for decades. Often it’s songs people don’t think they e heard and then they’re like…this is awesome. I say welcome to music so many love.
They were one of my 1st concerts..what a trip! Awesome show! Man...most tickets for shows we went to were $7. I could take a date out for a ahow and meal $20. Good times!!
Foghat was born out of one of Britain's first blues rock bands, Savoy Brown with Kim Simmonds. Lead singer/guitarist Dave Peverett and drummer Roger Earl left Savoy Brown and formed Foghat. The slide guitarist is Rod Price. His guitar tone is a key part of Foghat's unique sound.
This song is such a blast! Dave peverette is lead singer absolutely loved y’all’s reactions! You should do the version of this song off their foghat live album!
Saw Foghat in a bar that held 40 people in New Mexico. Unbelievable! Anyway, Foghat including Lonesome Dave on slide are the remnants of the great British Blues Band, "Savoy Brown". Check out their album "Blue Matter" with Louisiana Blues.
This song is forever linked to my teenage roller-skating years. Every Wednesday night in the mid seventies. Every time they played this song we couldn't wait for the end so that we could skate fast. Of course, a different activity took over later in life. I am going to suggest here and on Facebook the song Wild Cherry by Foghat. The whole song is like the last part of this song. BTW, "Lonesome" Dave Peverett, Tony Stevens and Roger Earl left the band Savoy Brown to form Foghat. You should check out Savoy Brown.
I wasn’t born till 82, but this is the music I was raised on. After my mom passed when I was young my older brother took over my music lessons and turned me onto allot of 70’s and 80’s hard rock. Foghat with its blues based sound was always on my mix tapes.
When I was in high school in the early 80's, I drew their logo on all my notebook covers. I saw them in 1981 in the Orlando Tangerine Bowl(Camping World Stadium)and this song was the one that we all waited to hear! Slow Ride. Now check out the live version.
A few other awesome songs from them are.... Fool For the City, Drivin Wheel and I Just Want to Make Love To You... Which is one of my favorites!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤. And so glad you loved this one too!!!! Thank you guys!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
I just recently bought my 35th foghat t shirt. Been wearing them since 76 proudly to have been part of their history🤘❤️. We need a band out there that can squeeze them guitar strings again😊
Back in the 70’s we had the LIVE albums. This and Skynyrd’s Free Bird and Zeppelin’s Stairway and Frampton’s Do Yo Feel Like I Do all from their Live albums were played constantly on early FM radio.
This song was the closing song of the movie " Dazed and Confused" as they drive off getting stoned on their way to Houston to get tickets for an Aerosmith concert. Lots of young people who were not famous actors at the time but went on to become famous today.
As kid our Roller Rink would play this…every kid on skates hit the floor! Total banger thought it was written for roller skaters 😂 I did buy the album and still have it till this day and still love it as much as I did in the 70’s!
I was a young 18 year old Private in the Army, dating a 23 year old lady In Bakersfield California. We went to a FOGHAT concert & it was a blast. My favorite of theirs is "Home in my hand." My girl friend made me very happy while that song was being played at that concert.
When I was in the 7th grade, this song got played on the juke box damn near twice a day during a 30-minute lunch! I grew up near Chicago in the 1970's/1980's!
The album cover reminds me of being a kid in the 70s and a guy that lived a couple doors down had this huge poster that covered the entire back of the front door. Very cool at the time.
They have an epic live album which has a song on it called Honey Hush that is not to be believed. It’s just wall-to-wall blistering hard rock. They were an extremely talented band.
Thanks for reacting to Foghat!! I suggested it a while back on this thread! Everyone had this jamming in their car with the gals!! React to Tommy Bolin- “poast toastie” You won’t be disappointed!! I guarantee some funk!! Rock funk!! But the thing is Tommy died young and many never got to experience his talent!! Believe me - it is absolutely the best!! Absolutely the best!! But be warned only the connected rockers back in the day got to experience Tommy Bolin cause of his untimely death
😊❤ Hi Guys! 😅 Loved your reactions! 😍 So glad to see another song surviving the test of time! 😅 Back in my day if you were at a club and this song came on, dancing is mandatory!! LOL 😂 AND if you weren't at least out of your chair on the way to the dance floor just by the drum beat that starts intro before the guitar even starts ... then you were late for the f*ck*^g party!! LOL 😂 Luv you guys! 😊❤❤
When my daughter was young and still in school, I would get up early and listen to the radio for school closing announcements. There was always a VDOT snowplow operator who would request this!
Heard this live about 7 years ago .. only the original drummer BUT oh my wow was it fire. And that drummer, he did a solo later for about 10-15 mini straight and he was pushing 80 years old .. just unbelievable
May I introduce you to Lonesome Dave Peverett on vocals and rhythm guitar, slide guitar extraordinaire Rod Price on lead guitar, Nick Jameson on bass, and Roger Earl on drums! One interesting genre that Foghat is included in is "Boogie Rock"!
This song, if you listen carefully, is about "kickin da boots." The drum beat at the beginning, represents the headboard hitting the wall. Near the end you will notice the music starts getting faster and faster and ends with a SLOW RIDE!! Are you seeing it now? Great song!
there's no rule that says music can only be 2 1/2 or 3 minutes long... sustained attention is rewarded I feel sorry for the clicks & algorithms generation... well done to you guys for going for the journey!
Unfortunately back when this song was released if you wanted to get your music played on the radio to reach the masses , you had to keep the songs in a certain time frame in order to get that airplay.
Glad you did the long version. I always said, 70’s music is the best. Rock, blues, funk style of music is the best!!!
I think the live version is superior. But the studio is fine.
I was in high school 74-78. No words i can type can explain the rock magic of that era. Those were the days.....yes yes they were. Im 64 and still listen to classic rock all the time. Rock on!
A whole generation got down with slow ride!
Congratulations on unlocking one of the greatest Stoner anthems of all time
Boy this 8-track was everywhere back mid to late seventies.
With the match book under it lol
@stevesauck7001 yep🤣😭
Box Scaggs- “ lowdown” it’s smooth as butter! Such a great song
@@terryking8984 Excellent Tune!!

Rock n roll doesn’t get any more classic than this! ✌️❤️🤘
I'd forgotten how great this long version is. Thank you!
You're welcome Ginny. 😊😊

Great tune 💯😉

Love to blast this song while I'm stuck in traffic.
You are a great human being !!!
I don't always listen to this song, but when I do the neighbors listen to it too
I love the looks this great grandma gets when I blast it out of my car. 😂😂😂
We did not realize how lucky we were in the 70s
This song only made it to 20 because the competition when this came out was exceptional. 1974-1977. So much great music that has stood the test of time!
Truth!
I've watched you guys plenty of times, Corey, you are a rocker through and through!
45th! Dang should have been in the top 10 !!
I love the long version of this song❤thanks for reacting to this version ❤️
This song has been in so many movies, so I knew you guys would recognize it once it got going. This is and always will be a jam. It's a must for playlists. Keep rockin' fellas! Much love from Oregon! ❤
Took me down my high school years. Saw them in the late 70s. Rockin
Saw these guys in 75, they absolutely rocked! The whole set was great and we didn't want them to stop! Truly rocked all night!
Me too 🤣 Civic arena in Pittsburgh Pa 🎉🎉🎉😅
Same, Veterans Memorial Arena, Binghamton, New York 1975.❤
HUGE HIT! We were rockin!!❤
I gotta say, this is one of the best reactions to a song. Watching you guys eating it up. Appreciate all the different styles leading up to that ass kicking end. You guys nailed it.
Welcome to the most orgasmic cruising songs that you may ever hear ! The build up is amazing! ✌️ ❤
This was the first concert I ever went to back in 75, Jay Geils and Foghat together. What a ride that was!😂😂😂
Foghat was very popular in the 70's, they had alot of hits.
Thanks guys. I hadn’t heard the full song in a long time. I had really forgotten how epic it was.
Rod Price, great overlooked slide guitarist from the 70's. People can't remember everyone forever, but Rod could really really play, and Foghat made a lotta people smile back in the day.

You probably heard the radio version. There is a longer version on the album. Glad you guys picked this version. ❤🇨🇦
They were one of my 1st concerts..what a trip! Awesome show! Man...most tickets for shows we went to were $7. I could take a date out for a ahow and meal $20. Good times!!

Alright-Alright ALRIGHT!
Daze & Confused
"I Just Want To Make Love" is my favorite Foghat song.
I concur

Another feel good classic rock song that puts a smile on my face and makes me move.
Seen them several times live and they rocked it every time Great band
I saw Foghat in 1977 in Los Angeles, they were amazing! keep going! Foghat has way more killer songs!
Saw Foghat in a bar that held 40 people in New Mexico. Unbelievable! Anyway, Foghat including Lonesome Dave on slide are the remnants of the great British Blues Band, "Savoy Brown". Check out their album "Blue Matter" with Louisiana Blues.

This is the best version! Takes me back to mid 70's! Foghat was 1 I listened to. Rock is always my go to, just 1 of many
I saw these guys 5 times, they are a great band ! I'm glad you guys enjoyed them ! 😎🤟
I saw them a couple of times myself. Awesome!!!
Now that's what you call a real banger. Definitely had Soul, Funk and Rock. Really Groovy. Great reaction!!!
I wasn’t born till 82, but this is the music I was raised on. After my mom passed when I was young my older brother took over my music lessons and turned me onto allot of 70’s and 80’s hard rock. Foghat with its blues based sound was always on my mix tapes.

One of my favorite songs.Glad to see you all jamming out to it.
So grateful I was in high school in the 70’s! I feel we had the best music!
In the 70’s Foghat didn’t put out many albums but did tour live something like 300 days a year consistently every year after year. Very tight band.
a total of 9 albums including LIVE in 1977. Not too bad, and a lot of great music.
FANTASTIC SONG & MEMORIES!!🔥🎶♥️
They were Awesome live.❤
Foghat came to my home town summer of 1975 thanks for the music!
A few other awesome songs from them are.... Fool For the City, Drivin Wheel and I Just Want to Make Love To You... Which is one of my favorites!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤. And so glad you loved this one too!!!! Thank you guys!!!!! ❤❤❤❤

This was our skating song for men's and ladies only RIVERSIDE ARENA FOREVER SKATING SINCE 1975 LIVONIA MICHIGAN 🛼🦄👋💯
OMG! I forgot about this classic... thanks ❤❤❤❤❤❤ this was "Fast skate " roller, king 😊😊😊😊❤
Showed up.for foghat....Great party song.
I was a young 18 year old Private in the Army, dating a 23 year old lady In Bakersfield California. We went to a FOGHAT concert & it was a blast. My favorite of theirs is "Home in my hand." My girl friend made me very happy while that song was being played at that concert.
BTW, the year was 1978.
Oh, 9th grade, riding around in the older kids' cars with this song blasting out the window during the hot summer nights! Heck yeah!
Thank you for playing the long version with the bedroom interlude in the middle.
Funk was alive in 1975 and I went to see them in the 70s and I never forgot how great it was ...
When I was in the 7th grade, this song got played on the juke box damn near twice a day during a 30-minute lunch! I grew up near Chicago in the 1970's/1980's!
I can’t even guess how many times I’ve listened to this song while cruising in my teenage years.
I saw them in 93 with Kansas and ELO and outta the 3 they sounded the best. Great live show!
I've seen all the biggest rock bands back in the 70's, Foghat was a great concert.
Had the privilege of seeing this band perform in 1977. 😎
I loved this album in high school!
They murdered that song! ❤️🔥
Outstanding!!!
Saw this concert.. 74 Milwaukee… BOA opened…. Peace
They had their studio not far from where I lived and they would occasionally show up and play at a club near by. Big Long Island favorite back then.
The album cover reminds me of being a kid in the 70s and a guy that lived a couple doors down had this huge poster that covered the entire back of the front door. Very cool at the time.
I think that’s the most fun I’ve ever seen you guys have!
There is a video of a live performance of this tune that is killer......
Such a great song. Funky bass. Love it. Great reaction guys!
They have an epic live album which has a song on it called Honey Hush that is not to be believed. It’s just wall-to-wall blistering hard rock. They were an extremely talented band.

The song that peaked at 20 was the single edit. About half of the song was cut for time consideration on radio.
Legendary, killer bass! Makes me want to cruise and smoke!
Ben, a big Foghat fan, sence the live album came out in the 70s, and had no idea that they were British
This is another one of those speeding ticket songs, if listening while driving.
Oh my God I forgot how great this song was. I loved this song in High School it was one of my very favorites
This song was big on Guitar Hero too!
People were ready for it. I had the album back in the 70s (I may still have it actually, but no turntable).
You guys are great. Keep it up!
Tony Stevens was on bass.
I love this song!😎😎😎😎
I sure did get a speeding ticket skipping skool on the way to the beach with my bestie '86

Low Ride was No.1 on every skating rink's most played songs. That and Love Hurts.
We listened to this song everyday before football practice all 4 years in high school and I was captain and all state because of this song
I usually don't recommend live versions....but this song done live is KILLER!!
there's no rule that says music can only be 2 1/2 or 3 minutes long... sustained attention is rewarded I feel sorry for the clicks & algorithms generation... well done to you guys for going for the journey!

Gotta love Foghat😊
DAZED & CONFUSED
Yes,one of my favorites
