this is the GOAT stuart zender! he was the original bassist, their earlier stuff with the original band members was the BEST. thanks once again for checking out my requests, i can't wait to suggest more of them and more live performances too! and everyone mentioning 'virtual insanity' i requested that one too with this so should be comin sooooon :)
Fun fact for jami: Stuart was fired during the 4th album synkronized so their last song king for a day has NO bass line to spite Stuart. Last song off that album..
Man, I caught this song late one night on BET, back when they played music videos, it must have been like...maybe 1995-96. The band went on to greatness and I frequently heard them at deep, underground, House Music parties in NYC years later. True pioneers
Saw the song title and right away I thought of Steve Miller's Space Cowboy. Completely different songs, but I thought it was cool that there was a sort of nod to Miller in the similar spacey keyboard bit.
Toby Smith (RIP) on the keyboards for Jamiroquai at that time. He also co-wrote a lot of their songs on the first 5 albums. Brilliant musician along with the other band members Funky yet jazzy ruclips.net/video/cWdw3Sm_vUo/видео.html
Man I love Jamiroquai! As my friend and DJ extraordinaire said “They were woke before people knew what woke was!” Also, the video reminds me of my bedroom with speakers all over!✌🏻

Love all things Jamiroquai but you really should check out their first release called When You Gonna Learn? which was a massive underground club hit when released and put them in the map of those in the know. I still remember hearing this for the first time in 92 it blew me away. Acid Jazz top tune. Thirty years ago but still such a relevant message in this song. So please check out When You Gonna Learn?
I listened to a lot of Jamiroquai growing up in the 90s but here in the U.S. Lol! Not sure why his music wasn't played on the radio but it should've, he's so ridiculously talented. What gravitated me to Jamiroquai is my infinite love for house & electronic music, jazz, funk, R&B, soul, and disco. There was nothing at the time that combined those genres and plus, I play instruments so I appreciate this type of music. It is right up my alley. ;)
Stuart Zender was the bassist on their first 3 albums including this song. He was belting out amazing grooves since he was 16 years old. Check out “Whatever it is, I just can’t stop” or “If I like it, I just do it” or “Just another story” for his amazing bass play with Jamiroquai
Love, Love, Love Jamiroquai - love seeing others appreciate their music even more, I think 🙂If you like smooth sonic, two recommendations from yesteryear! Maria Muldar - Midnight at the Oasis (1974). Dave Grusin - Keep Your Eye on The Sparrow (1975) Instrumental. Far better than the various releases with lyrics. Enjoy. Can't wait to check out more of your reactions. Have a great day!
Their 3rd album Travelling Without Moving is still the best selling funk album of all time. You won’t get too many views or comments off Jamiroquai, people don’t understand it and it mostly goes over their heads. Just check out their stuff privately - particularly their first 3 albums
Check out the ‘stoned again’ or the ‘demo’ version of this song 🔥 The album version has a different feel to it (different bassist) but is also worth listening too Good to see your sunshine smile upon your face as well
Dude, this popped up for me as i was watching some jamiroquai videos/songs. You have to do manifest destiny, Mr moon, scam, STILLNESS IN TIME!! Phoenix 1997 space cowboy, EVERY song of the first 2 albums. EVERY SONG. this is my favorite band. My favorite song is Everyday from the 3rd album. To listen to every instrument especially with headphones on... Magnifico 😊
In 92, I was given his 1st album then saw his first tour in US and several others which were off the chain. This is JKs music. Singer/Writer Jay Kay created the best Acid Jazz groove of that era by perfectly fusing 70s Funk, Disco, Jazz & Electronica which was the trend back in 1990s England. EVERY SONG of every album he wrote was wonderful! plus his gender bending vocal sound & cool cosmic LYRICS were always hip & clever. Jquai were my favorite Act from the 90s til early 2K. Over time his band members evolved but his music continued to be strong.
It is not JKs music. It was the magic that came out from three main guys: Stuart, Toby and Jay. Compare the three albums to the last two ones and there is a big difference.
The name Jamiroquai cam from Jam - as in musical jam and Iroquai - the native American tribe... Spent many a night learning this bass line and if there was only 1 song I could only listen to for the rest of my life it would be this very song! Stuart zender you ledge!!!
First time at your channel & so happy that you reacted to one of their best songs. Talk about pocket & groove, they were outrageously talented. As are you, the jazz drumming in the opening of your channel is off the hook. But then you can tell you're a real musician because of your reaction alone. Btw, Stuart Zender does A LOT of stuff still. Check out his bass work with Omar. He was just a little boy when he joined Jamiroquai.
Awww Man...I love me some JayKay singing. I know this song....as soon as I saw the title. Good choice, keep listening your mind will blown over and over.
I prefere the album version, and still to this day no one knows who played bass in the album version. (it wasnt zender). Derrick Mckenzie is also hell of a drummer
Just found your channel - thanks for the Cleo Sol recommendation - just added her to my playlist. I have a similar sound appetite so I must recommend another extremely talented artist that somehow never became well known except with the more sophisticated sound crowd - Esthero. Give her Country Living track a listen. She also did this track with Ceelo Green for another completely different sound.
If you listen to the album version (not the remastered; they remastered this video version instead, IDK why!), it’s a different drummer and the version I prefer. But love this version as well.
The original bassist who did the first three albums whose sound everyone loves is Stuart Zender. After Stuart left the band the sound of the band changed. still good but not the Zender sound of the original band.
Several people (now me too 😀) suggest you react to Yoyoka's 'solo' Jamiroquai drum covers: _Space Cowboy_ ruclips.net/video/q9P8waujYhM/видео.html _Virtual Insanity_ ruclips.net/video/FYxjwN08eQk/видео.html Yoyoka's _Virtual Insanity_ is definitely different (IMO better) compared to the studio original. IMO her _Space Cowboy_ has more 'pop' or 'sparkle'. You might even try to compare original and Yoyoka as a different type of reaction video?
What version is this? This isn't the album version. Also this looks like much higher quality video that was available when this first came out. What the hell is going on here?!?
This is the shortened ‘stoned again’ version. Go check it out 🔥The album version is a slightly different composition with a different bassist playing (bassist only known as Mr X) If you are a yank, then there’s a chance you got the amended video which took out the cannabis leaves
BRO that was the radio version...check out the album version. I saw you playing drums on your intro...CHECK the bass and drums on album version...ITS GONNA BLOW U AWAY!!!! peace from Longsight-Manchester-England 👊🏼

Exactly
Stu + Katz + Toby.... the perfect team
The first vinyl is on the table at least once the weak....... That artwork...my youth 😊
Jamiroquai is my FAVOURITE BAND ever!!! Thank you for checking them out!!!!
Mr. Moon, Time Won't Wait and 7 Days in Sunny June are some of my personal favorites by this band. Mr. Moon is a real hidden gem.
I agree
If you’re a musician geek, Time Won’t Wait is the FUNKIEST utilization of the circle of 5ths!
I totally agree
Jamiroquai. Dynamite. Last song.
Fun fact for jami: Stuart was fired during the 4th album synkronized so their last song king for a day has NO bass line to spite Stuart. Last song off that album..

The band went on to greatness and I frequently heard them at deep, underground, House Music parties in NYC years later.
True pioneers
They were constantly in the charts in the U.K. playing stadiums
You would love the track "Too Young To Die", killer bass line and funky as hell! Try the album version as the video cuts it to shreds.
Or this live version from 1994 ruclips.net/video/vQ3yv3MluHg/видео.html 🙌🏽
Saw the song title and right away I thought of Steve Miller's Space Cowboy. Completely different songs, but I thought it was cool that there was a sort of nod to Miller in the similar spacey keyboard bit.

Canned Heat, Seven Days in Sunny June, Love Foolosophy, Little L, Cosmic Girl....sooo many great songs they have
Man I love Jamiroquai! As my friend and DJ extraordinaire said “They were woke before people knew what woke was!”
Also, the video reminds me of my bedroom with speakers all over!✌🏻
Stuart Zender is the bass player. Check out "Too young to die"!
I hadn't heard this before. This was really good. Thanks for doing it. Goosebumps.

Awesome song. Great band. Jamiroquai is acid jazz/funk/rock and everything else. Virtual Insanity is another popular song by them Chod.
Class band. Excellent musicians.

Jamiroquai is definitely fantastic. The debut album is fantastic.

the bass line for this particular track was recorded by Paul Powell, credited as Mr. X.
JAMIROQUAI it's a BIG name. There's much more gold to be discovered ✌☯️
1st time I heard Jay Kay singing on the radio I thought it was a black female American. Then when I saw I was wtf!
Thank you for your reaction.
Another Great song by Jamiroqui is Traveling Without Moving.

You got that right ✅ I play that weekly. Little L is my party song. All their music is superb 👌
@@msburton1406 Little L is everything!!! 🔥
In 94 I was in College with the zone face like you! Every TRACK man!!!!! FIRE
INFO....Jay Kays (the singer) mother was Karen Kay is a British former jazz singer, cabaret singer, comedian and impressionist. Now 74 years old.
The album version I brought at the time. Didn't have that break. Stuart was incredible. Still is.
Check out main vein by jamiroquai. Their funkiest jam, best version is the live one in Verona on RUclips
Im an amateur drummer and a lifetime fan of Jamiroquia, i enjoyed this thoroughly my man
Check out the ‘stoned again’ or the ‘demo’ version of this song 🔥
The album version has a different feel to it (different bassist) but is also worth listening too
Good to see your sunshine smile upon your face as well
you need to see Jamiroquai Live.. awesome show.. try Live in verona..any song.
The Verona show is Jay Kay and the Jamiroquai tribute band 🤣
This show is Jamiroquai ruclips.net/video/dkQfDxJ1SN8/видео.html 😉

Stuart Zender is a fantastic bass player...not 100% but im fairly sure it's him on this........Jay Kay is a cool dude
Yep.
Love your reactions to the Jamiroquai music videos 💛
The name is Jam for the Iroquai, a Native American tribe. Pretty cool huh?
If you want some awesome bass playing, check out Mark King from the band Level 42
This came out when I was 11 I had no clue they were singing about weed till my late 20s 😂
Stuart Zender was the bassist. He was so badass
Watch their live concerts , awesome🎶🔊🎹🎺🎸🎻🎹🎵🔊🎷
1ST TIME WITH THIS GROUP WAS 20+YRS AGO, THE VID WHERE HE WAS IN THE 'TUMBLER' ...
The name Jamiroquai cam from Jam - as in musical jam and Iroquai - the native American tribe...
Spent many a night learning this bass line and if there was only 1 song I could only listen to for the rest of my life it would be this very song! Stuart zender you ledge!!!

I can’t believe you have not reacted yet to Stevie Wonder. Please try Living for the city.
The bass player of this version of this song is the original bass player of the band: Stuart Zender.
When this song hit the video couldn’t be played here in the US because it was about smoking marijuana.
I prefere the album version, and still to this day no one knows who played bass in the album version. (it wasnt zender). Derrick Mckenzie is also hell of a drummer
The name is Jam and the native tribe Iroquai put together, been a fan since 1992, peace
Next recommended Jamiroquai song:
“Virtual Insanity”
And the video.
You should check out Derrick McKenzie's (Jamiroquai's drummer) youtube drum tutorials - it's all about keeping it tight
Stuart zender my absolute favourite bass player been loving this band since primary school I'm 37 now

See You, Space Cowboy....
That was a fun performance. Thanks.
All about the bass player. 20 years behind the times but not complaining. Stuart Zender.
You saw the original bassist, Stuart Zender, I think he left the band around 2001.

The original bassist who did the first three albums whose sound everyone loves is Stuart Zender. After Stuart left the band the sound of the band changed. still good but not the Zender sound of the original band.
Interestinnnnng! no way to pigeonhole this band, but I kinda like it. And yeah, that bass is goooood!!
David Morales Remix is the best!
Stuart Zender
STUART ZENDER is the basist on that track.
Stuart Zender is the man
