@@devingeary455 the Ford explorer doesn't have a ladder frame like a truck. The Sequoia is way more capable off road, It has the land cruiser heritage. I think even the same frame. That means the floor has to be high because of the suspension setup, you'd lose even more floor with batteries.
I can open the glass window in a back with my 2004 Honda CRV and the back has lot more space and is flat. You can buy a used one for about $5k only. It is extremely reliable too. Save the other $90K for a down payment on a house. By the way, it also has a hidden table on the back that you can take out for picnics. I am sure if Toyota adds one of those, it will be a $1000 option.
It’s just this Toyota Sequoia that botched their storage area behind the third row and is comprising sheer space and practicality in the rear of their largest SUV for whatever reason. This is a mess! Apparently they thinkthe only reason people buy Sequoias are to go off road and it’s not because they want space and practicality for 7-8 and their cargo.

Just curious.. is the license plate legal cause it is white on white on white? Can’t read the text properly.. at my part of the world.. it is super illegal
Honda made a lot of innovations first to be honest. Remember the CRV with the damn picnic table in the back and you can just walk from the front seat to the back? Or the Ridgeline with everything it has going on. Maverick straight copied that for sure
He literally said it cuz of some battery or whatever. If that’s the case i imaging you have nothing in your house or a phone or anything cuz that’s what every thing sold to you is
It's just more practical to buy a truck and put a cap on it. You'll almost never use the third row and that's a ridiculously small cargo area. "Sport utility vehicles" aren't sporty or utilitarian.
Alright, probably won't be the first to say it but this is a shit car, the tailgate opens too slow, the storage is way too high, and there ain't enough of it.
Who gets an SUV for storage? If you need to haul a lot get a truck. If you have too many kids but want to be cooler than the guy with a van get an SUV.
Im confused i thought the scenario was IF there were people in the 3rd row? No we fold them up with a button and now we got a little more room for stuff lol like what? That’s really considered cargo for $60K? that’s insulting
Lol. How is shelving and stacking cargo up vertically on top of a battery protruding out of the floor the best solution for storage space in a large SUV? This is ridiculous. Wouldn’t that obstruct views out the rear glass? How about investing some money into the Sequoia’s architecture and making the load floor flat to better accommodate 8 passengers and their potential cargo. This is not a Tundra - which should take priority for targeting off-road buyers, not the SUV they took 15 years to redesign.
This new ugly trend that car manufacturers are doing need to stop. I'm talking about having the model name in big lettering in the back. Nissan was doing this first with the Rogue, then Kia with a big Telluride in the back, and now I saw a douchebag actually put TESLA lettering in his Model 3. SMH. At least Hyundai did something different with the Ionic 5, no Hyundai badges inside the car.
I kind of like the new design
Nice pfp
Don't really like the Name emblem,so Stretched and long. I rather keep it stretched but not that long like on Toyota All new Veloz(Toyota Indonesia)
That is a really small cargo space for a vehicle this big
Not really it is the size of a Tahoe and has a little less space because of the battery
@Franklin Shields my wife's Ford Explorer with 3rd row seats has more cargo space and seats 7

Good job to Toyota 🙌🏽🙌🏽🎉🎊
Good job

From the Philippines here. The rear of the sequoia looks very distinctive to the Toyota Fortuner (our version of a 7 seater SUV here)
Fortunately you guys have them in Diesle!!( my father in law lives in cebu)
Dude a pt cruiser has a trunk like this
I wish we could get this in South Africa
Holy shit that load floor looks more like a load ceiling. Man that's high up.
They should have done the power rear window!
Nice plate
I'll take one.
That's clever af
Straight up stole that opening rear window gimmick from the eg
It'd like the 2019 nissan rogue😏
Giant car no room 😂
Waiting for Ike to go "Wow"
YOOOOO 🐢
Naw, I like the roll window down feature than that pop out type
I’ve seen tahoes with this since o7
Amazing design, amazing car I hope,
But hope the price is amazing too.
rememeber when seats didn't fold flat bc of live axles and not hybrid batteries
Kinda of genius work around
Is this in the USA yet?
Buy a minivan and go for full cargo solution, compromise of suv when needing space is not gona work.
Can’t off road a minivan now can you
@@avrggamer69 lol nobody goes off road anywhere lol. Buy a range Rover

Exactly. I wish we could have our cake and eat it too.
just get this with the old V8 and we good
This is really creative!
Toyota Revo has big storage
Woah my God is has a shelf..... 100$ refrigerators have adjustable shelves
Wat happens if u put cement bags on that raised shelf and hit bumps at 65 mph on the highway
It’s a 3 row SUV not a pickup
That weak "shelf" wouldn't even be strong enough to load your shopping onto.

Crv made that cargo hack first

American car interiors are so so much better than Asian ones.
The point of a flat load floor is completely eradicated when it’s another 2 foot in the air, putting luggage in isnt gonnna be anywhere near as easy
One day...

8 people? I thought it has a center walk way and only seats 7?
U can opt for 7 seats with captain chairs in the middle
Both options are available. This one is a 7 seater.
Car go road not car go space.
Is noone gonna talk about that number plate
I wonder if that would be legal in any US State.
Last century French design

Clever indeed
Yeah I'd definitely not grt the hybrid one

Who gets an SUV for storage? If you need to haul a lot get a truck. If you have too many kids but want to be cooler than the guy with a van get an SUV.
Yeah it’s so slow. they should put door poppers on there so when my kid walks behind the vehicle and I open the tailgate he gets sent into space.
Why couldn’t they just extend the battery to make the floor completely flat?
Because then you'd lose the deep cargo space. It is incredible that you even needed to ask that question.

HHR did it too
IT HAS THE BACK OF A MINIVAN WTF
didn't give you guys permission Toyota to use my ancestor's name
But you still lose alot of height. So things like loading in an XL dog crate that is 33" tall won't fit
more like a afterthought

Doesn't everybody just throw shit in the backseat like I do??
dope
Make sense
Welp just like land cruiser asia
Put a mattress in and tell us how it is sleeping in there?
Only "little people" could sleep in there. However, you can fit two in the bunk beds.
That type of storage design is nothing new. A lot of cars have that implemented in their rear areas.

Why use SUV when you want extra storage. Buy van instead.
Did they address the shitty gas mileage?
That storage is in cars and SUV's. It's for security, so people can't see packages when looking in rear window. Not innovative.
Stil not clever with the wind shield!!!!
That is not tbe windshield, dude. This is the rear of the vehicle. 🙄
