Afzal Hussein thanks! Don’t think I’ve seen a clearer explanation on IB than what you have just provided. PS. what’s that you do with your hand at the end of each vid. All the best.
Glad to see you on ‘Creator on the Rise’. Well deserved my friend. Wish you lots of success on this channel and your future ventures. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this platform.
that's the most precise and simplified explanation I have got to get a good understanding of the functionalities of investment banks. Thanks a lot!!!!!! I'm good to go now 😊
I am preparing for an interview and wanted to understand how investment banks operate. Watched 5-6 videos before this, but didn't understand much as lots of technical terms were used. This video was so clear, especially for a layman like myself. Thanks Afzal!! Liked and subscribed :)
The Chinese wall is Middle office for some investment banks nowadays. The middle office do perform some activities as well. Though this increases cost they still make up for the losses that could have happened in case of any delinquency.
Hi Afzal. I am a Nigerian going to Ireland for Masters in Financial Services this September. I found this video interesting and refreshing. I am currently in Retail banking and i intend to get into Investment banking after my program in Ireland. Thanks for the information.
just came across your channel, loving the content... i'm currently thinking of switching to banking from big 4, so doing as much research as I can now, and also studying for my gmat
Afzal Hussein thanks man, will continue to keep an eye on your channel! I like how you are fairly honest and give a realistic expectation of what it is like to be at an investment bank. Your videos have inspired me to talk about my career at a big 4, and will be posting videos on my channel soon
Thank you so much for the content. I really enjoy watching your videos. Could you please make a vedio on - 'How easy/difficult it is for a technologists to work in IB/WM/AM?' (Considering he is interested in finance or working in technology division of the bank)
Hey Afazal, I really like you video ,Thanks for giving always valuable content, i just want to know about Diploma of IFRS.. is this valuable and how it will be added values if you have experience work with investment banks and Hedge fund industry so is that made any effect??
Hi afzal, can you do a video on the salaries within each division and which ones pays the most or least in the front office in an IB (investment banking, asset management, traders etc)
How realistic is it to get into IB? After all, with any lucrative job (i.e. grad schemes at any top financial services firm), there are easily 10,000+ applicants but only 3-5% get an offer.
You basically just answered your own question. It's very hard but it's possible. You need to stand out and have things on your CV which other people don't have, that will get you through the initial screening stage. The rest is down to your ability to perform in interviews.
Hi Afzal, I was wondering is asset management front or back office? I'd love to work analyzing the markets but I'm not too big on the whole selling it off to other clients. Thanks!

I think investors should always put their cash to work, especially In 2024, we'll start to see more market diversification. I'm hoping to invest about $350k of my savings in stocks against next year. Hope to make millions in 2024
Since risk is at an all-time high right now, perhaps you should be a little more patient and return when it has decreased. Alternatively, you can consult a trained financial expert for strategy.
Yes true, I have been in touch with a brokerage Advisor. With an initial starting reserve of $80k, my advisor chooses the entry and exit commands for my portfolio, which has grown to approximately $550k.
Angela Lynn Shilling is the licensed advisor I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
I had to dislike for all the stupid editing going on. Otherwise, excellent information, and very well done. Maybe try keeping your self promotion and plug's at the end of the video. I skip the intro to get to what I need. But I watch the videos all the way through. Don't try too hard.
