      Hey. I'm a 12th class student in India. Even i want to get into investment banking but I'm not sure what to do. I'm mainly confused between doing B.com CA and Economics. So,how has your experience been doing CA, and do you think anyone else aspiring to get into investment banking should do CA or not?
      Thanx in advance if you reply

    Even going full in you should focus on health and de stressing as well. What I mean is this. I work full time. Own a business on the side, go to college and ROTC. Yet I still make time for the gym ans healthy living. It actually keeps me moving and I do it in a balanced time management way that allows for me to work on my own time and others time, but not allow it to stress me. 💆🏻‍♂️ you have to be passionate and truly enjoy it and you’ll be fine

    Seems to me like working in FANG offers everything banking does, except instead of 100 hours you'll do 40-60 hours in a calm environment with free snacks. man I wish I knew coding.

    • @AnoopKumar-hz4uk

      I dont think FAANG offers the same soft skills as IB or Consulting... Soft Skills are very important to move up in companies

    • @trapitusaventurez2190
      @trapitusaventurez2190 5 лет назад

      Anoop Kumar thing is tho learning soft skills is really up to the person, and the soft skills you learn in IB and consulting are important for moving up in IB or consulting, in FAANG moving up is based more on experience, performance and seniority

    • @TheInvestmentCircle
      @TheInvestmentCircle 5 лет назад

      Trapitus Aventurez that isn’t entirely true. Soft skills matter at FAANG companies too.

    Very good video, thank you Afzal. I am in California as a CPA and working in Tech industry. While I enjoy my work at Tech industry as I feel that my job is well respected and the work life balance is extremely well, I do consider switch to banking in the future to have more exposure to strategy finance side. I guess the only thing that concerns me here is the "Replaceable" part at the end, I do value job security a lot. I would have to do more research I guess. Thank you!

    Hey I'm first time approaching the investment banking world. I heard some guys saying that you'll start as an analyst if u have a bachelor and you'll start as an associate if u already have a master degree. So is it true that u can skip the analyst 2-3 years by simply taking a master degree?

    • @zidanhussain100

      Enrolling in a master will only give you another shot to apply for summer analyst internship. Many students that failed to get a summer during their bachelor will aim to get admitted in a top tier uni to do a master in order to reapply with better odds

      I don’t know why people are saying you won’t start as an associate. If you have an MBA then you will definitely start as an associate. I don’t know why it works like this because the student fresh into the associate position pretty much has no experience

      They love STEM these days. I'd say double degree in engineering and finance would be the perfect combination. Engineering to demonstrate intellectual horsepower and finance so they know you at least have a fundamental understanding of capital markets and transactions.
