which do you use more: alcohol or water-based markers? let me know below :))
tbh i have never used alcohol based markers XD i usually use the aquamarkers to do any type of ‘colouring’. they r pretty good but the tips start to fray which is so annoying! x
I have a whole case of alcohol based markers that I have never used because I find them intimidating. Hence, I'm watching this video to help me!
@@annarocha3254 hope it is helpful! :)
Alcohol markers are made of dye inks not pigments. You will find pigments in watercolours, oils, gouache and acrylic paints, The same for most water based markers, they are also dyes., which is why they fade over time. Depending on the paper, some water based markers will bleed also. If you don’t want the paper to pill when using water based markers, wait for the first layer to dry. The yellowing in some alcohol markers is due to the dyes in some colours. Whew, I hope that helps. Nice informative video. Keep creating 💜💛💙
wow wow! very helpful thanks for the tips! you should be the youtuber not me 😂😂😂
@@mingostudio been there, done that. I’d rather watch now lol.
Thank you for this! I''m definitely going to get some alcohol based markers! You convinced me. The streaks that come with using my tombows annoys me so much! No matter what it just looks bad to me. I thought id be stuck with those forever haha. Yay can't wait to try alcohol ons!
yayyy omg let me know how it goes :)
Thank you I don't use alcohol markers, you demonstration was really useful and informative on the differences really helpful 👍
i’m so glad! :)
Ohuhu is the best budget alcohol marker investment .. of course it's a personal opinion but it is the only brand capable of competing with copic. its been 4 years and ohuhu still surprises me to this day, some of my pens haven't run out still and has pigment
woww 4 years is impressive
@@mingostudio i might be showing a smidge favoritism here i know and i apologize if it sounds a bit strongly opinionated however as a company they do please their customers weather its for personal or professional use :)
no i agree i love their company :)
I'm getting more into paint because of some of the issues with water based markers (although most common paints are also water based). Alcohol markers are too much of an investment when I'm not very good at art
and see i’m the other way around bc paint is harder to me than markers. 😂😂
Can you please make a video on how to use ohuhu markers and how to colour with them? Because I am a beginner at it and not so good 😅
should i continue the series with a part 3? :) i talked a little about that in this video with the blending and layering but i can continue with another full video
@mingostudio if you can, then please it would help me 🙂😊
I love Ohuhu makers, but I’m afraid that if I buy them I won’t use them enough to make it worth the money.
Yesterday I bring my almost dry markers to life just with technical alcohol, so even you don't use them right now, you may make them juicy and use them later. Some colors became lighter, but if marker just dry, not much used, it wouldn't change the color.
I hope, it will help and you will happily boost your creativity c:
i really want to try alcohol markers, but copics are so expensive!! i’ll def have to look into those other brands, thanks for the recommendation!! also, have you heard of acrylic markers? they have a brush nib and a like regular marker nib. i thought acrylic was paint, but i don’t think these are? idk, i haven’t tried them just yet. i think she got them from amazon…
the two markers i recommended in the video, ohuhu and sanjoki, are much cheaper! i agree copics are insanely priced haha. also i have tried one acrylic marker (an acrylograph) and it was fineeee but not my fav. i think it is paint..? idk i may be wrong
@@mingostudio It is acrylic paint indeed, hence the name. You can't paint the same way as you'd use alcohol or water-based markers unfortunately, it's a different process.
OMG thanks. I really want to buy some. If anything i guess i can just put a lot of stickers on the back of the pages and use my others for the pages i don't wanna use a bunch of stickers on the back
if you don’t have sticker paper you can also draw on normal paper and just glue or tape it in :)
@@mingostudio ooh def gonna try this. Appriciate this advice thanks 👍🏿🫶🏿
I love Ohuhu makers, but I’m afraid that if I buy them I won’t use them enough to make it worth the money.
hmm that’s valid. maybe see if they sell them individually or in small quantities? just to test them out and see if you like using them? :)
