"In 1476 Vlad was ambushed by an Ottoman patrol and killed. He was reportedly decapitated, and his head was sent to the sultan in Constantinople as a trophy." That's exactly how it's written by Britannica Encyclopedia.
In the Ottoman Empire, there is a ministry called chronicler. The head of this ministry writes down the historical events that took place during his reign and sends them to the state archive. According to the writings of the chroniclers of the period, Vlad's head was toured and announced in Istanbul, which was called Constantinople at that time. and he's called the staked voivode.

Mara Branković is a woman every men should ask for. Mehmeds father Murad II was very fortunate to have her as wife. She was not only influential in Mehmeds court and harem but also she didn't wanted any kids cause her sons will create a succession crisis for Mehmed which would jeapordize the Ottomans. She was the ambassador for Sultan in his negotiations with Hungary, Serbia and Balkans.
Mara Khatun was the real OG sultan that came to Ottoman Palace not Hürrem or Kösem. She even refused to convert and II.Murad allowed her to stay Orthodox even the fact that they got married.
yes, they always show the ottoman soldiers weak in the movies and you think that they won because they were too many. The ottoman was a tent group of 2000 people and they reached this size because they fought great. They fought not only with the sword, but also with the heart and mind, so they were successful and defeated the armies of their own, but you cannot accept it. Turks were always the best warriors in the world. You need to know that you are Turkish in Hungarians because the old names of Turks are Hun. and so the only brave warriors were hungarians against turks. we destroyed them in the war of mohacs. Mehmet died 5 years after Vlad did. In a lot of ways, Vlad was right, only he could stand up and defeat Mehmet as long as he did. The inept and weak forces of Europe at that time were no match for Metmet and his armies. If Vlad had joined Mehmet on his conquest then they would have made it all way to Italy.
When Mehmet II was on his way to conquer Trabzon ( a small city in the Northern region of Turkey which was in the hands of the Byzantines at that time ).It was very hard to ride there with horse. The region was very mountainous and full of forests. So Mehmet II had to walk most of the time. He also once slipped and hurt his hands. The Mother of Uzun Hasan, Sare Hatun, who was sent to Mehmet II as a messenger by his son before, was also at this conquest. ( He took her with him until the conquest was complete, so his Rival would not dare to attack him behind his back). Sare Hatun who saw this, told him: "Son, you are a big emperor ! What is the importance of this small city? That turned an emperor like you to a foot soldier"? Mehmet II replied: " Mother! This effort is not for Land and Glory. Rather it is we, who have the sword of Islam in our hands. If we don't bear the pain that comes with it, then surely it will be a lie to call us Gazi ( someone who fights for Allah and gets injured by doing so ). And at the day of reckoning i can not stand before Allah out of shame." Yes, this was the mentality of Mehmet the conqueror, whom our beloved Prophet praised at his life time. What an anti-climactic ending to a pretty interesting docudrama. We jumped from a scene where Mehmed II is frustrated that Vlad is still out there, to a scene with the book of Destiny (the Illiad) and then all of a sudden Vlad is dead with his head on a pike. Seemed like they wanted to wrap it up quickly but probably could have made some earlier scenes in the episode shorter to fit in some story to bridge those events.
@@zarovv5589 no, that wouldn’t be accurate, but it just “happened” basically out of nowhere. The theory is that Vlad was killed during a raid and that could have been illustrated or something… the rest of the show was pretty good about tying events together until this part.
@@elemenoplease I think they just heard about speculations about his cause of death, they were only sure about the head being sent to capital. The Ottomans were very respectful of beliefs in the lands they conquered. The Ottoman Sultan personally paid the expenses of the monasteries in Greece. People were bribing Ottoman bureaucrats to have their children become Janissaries. There are historical records of what I said. The biggest problem was taxation. The Ottomans could never keep this in balance. The "Ayan" system is the biggest reason for the uprisings in the Balkans. The peoples, who had to pay huge taxes, rightly rebelled. Apart from that, the statement that faith and national identities are under pressure is a big lie. Nationalist movements used these concepts to raise the flag of rebellion, but the main reason was always taxes. Vlad was a villain who massacred the peoples he had to protect. Those people should have lived safely under his protection. If your biggest hero is a psychopath, you should sit down and think about it. For the Ottomans, he was a small detail. Even the Ottoman Empire itself is only a detail in terms of Turkish history. Turkish Khagans have reached places that even your dreams cannot reach. The real problem is that you need such a psychopath to be in history. However, to console yourself, you can tell your history differently. Of course, the people of Transylvania were the greatest warriors and the most civilized in human history. Without them, human history would be incomplete. I am kidding.
Why do you insult the people of transylvania so? The Ottomans weren't Saints either, committing many atrocities. While it is true that many Christian families volunteered their children for the Janissaries, the majority of people resented it. It was commonplace for Christian boys to be sexually abused and molested by their foreign overlords, and any who resisted the blood-tax were put to death and any who tried to flee were tortured in a bestial manner before being executed. While it is true that Vlad also committed many atrocities, to say that he oppressed the people of his homeland instead of protecting them is false. He impaled his enemies, the Boyars and the Translvanian Saxons, and also Criminals and lawbreakers, and of course the Turks. Vlad was extremely popular with the common people of Wallachia because he established law and order and refused to be a puppet or a vassal to either the Turks or the Hungarians. If he was a Psycho who was tryanising his people, then he would have been hated, not loved. And he also would have continued to be despised by the Romanian people long after his death if what you say is true, just like any other tyrant. Instead he is worshiped today in Romania as a national hero who defended the country from its enemies, with many statues and shrines dedicated to him. Who are we to tell them that they are wrong? We may think that, but to tell the people of another country that they are wrong to show love and devotion to the memory of one of their greatest hero's is extremely disrespectful. Not only that they made Vlad look just as how the myths describe him like a blood thirsty man but they didn't even get the events right or facial look. Vlad was always painted and described having a mustache and not a beard. Vlads head was not even taken to Constantinople due to the source being very unbelievable. The only letter that mentions Vlads head being taken to Constantinople that was written in the time of Vlads death is Stephen the Great of Moldavias letter. But he was not at the place where Vlad died nor was he at Constantinople. No source of the time of Vlads death of Ottoman origin says Vlads head was taken to Constantinople. Only modern writings says that. The movie is bulls*it!!

Sare Hatun who saw this, told him:
"Son, you are a big emperor !
And at the day of reckoning i can not stand before Allah out of shame."

How dare you say this choose your words care fully
Fun fact: Vlad was beheaded by the Turks and his head was impaled and paraded around the city by the order of Mehmet himself.
Jesus was from Palestine.
No more impalings for you son
A pity Mehmed didn't impale Vlad's people as he had done. An eye for an eye is the right way.
Mehmed was a far better man than Vlad. Unlike Vlad, Mehmed didn't surrender his humanity for the sake of success.
@@QwuithLordDartox What a joke! How many territories the Ottoman Empire invaded and killed their inhabitants again? Yeah, A LOT. Big talk about humanity...
@@omi685 He was never as vile as Vlad was.
@@QwuithLordDartox Here's how it goes: Did Mehmed invaded any territories during his rule? If yes, then he invaded other people's properties, he killed the owners and took over uninvited... we can call that theft. Vlad mostly used those techniques as psychological warfare, having a much, much smaller army.
Vlad is considered one of the many heros that ensured his people's independence today.
Don't talk about Mehmed having "humanity" when he killed people himself, or ordered for the people to be killed and took other people's territories away. And I don't mean just Wallachia, all the other land once under Ottoman occupation.
Mehmed is in no way much better, murder is murder.

Proud of Vlad and his courage. Romanian hero for ages to come. The one who made the turks retreat in respect. He had mastered psychological warfare and was bound to do so given his small kingdom, humble numbers. Wallachia was never conquered.
Turks never defeated any major Europe monarch. Vlad was definitely a great brave soldier .later on Stephen the great had won major victories for Europe and Christendom

It changes according to the period and conditions in which he lives. Also, Mehmet Han is culturally very rich and according to the names you mentioned, he is an aristocrat. A multilingual marshal, plus a great brain and an engineer who designs fearsome weapons. He is the man who designed the weapon we know as the Mortar (original name Humbara). It wouldn't be a lie if we said it started the firearms renaissance. Had he not died, all of Europe, including Italy, would have had to bow before his sword.

This movie in an insult to Vlad's memory. Of course Mehmet was a great ruller, not only for conquering Constantinopole, but to make him Steven Segal in the night attack is really amusing and also that bullshit about him traping the valahians knowing that they will attack in the night and making that analogy with Alexander the Great is really making me laugh out loud. EVERY fucking history source, beside ottoman of course, is saying that they were very affected about that night attack loosing maybe 20000 soldiers while Vlad's army only about 1000 soldiers, and that the sultan fled the camp in fear only to come back at the insisting of his close trusted men, and that they recovered after about 3 days and marched towards Tragoviste. And where the fuck is the "FOREST OF IMPALED"? I guess according to turkish history sources that never happened also right? And that after seeing that macaber sight he decided to go back to Constantinopole, saying that he cannot take the land of such a man who does such glorious and scarry things, while just leaving Vlad's brother Radu with a small army behind. What the fuck is with that bullshit of Mehmet putting foot inside Targoviste? :))))
The conclusion is that of course Vlad could never win against such a large army in the end without having support from the other christian powers, but he was the ONLY one with the balls to take on the ottomans and for sure he caused them great losses and fear if you look of the manpower available to both leaders, but Mehmet never defeated him in battle with the outcome to conquering Valahia. And they never fought on the battlefield, for sure Vlad never met his coward brother in that tent. Vlad died because of treason of his own people, the boyars, or another possibility is an assasin, after 12 years of being kept prisoner. So how the fuck could you be with such lack of common sense and put so many lies in this movie?
don't believe everything you hear. nothing like that
Victors write the history, and Europeans have their share of whitewashing history too. Bottom line is, Vlad lost and died. End of story.
Mehmet was not so stupid as to send his entire army of 20 thousand only to Rome. That army was there to protect the huge Ottoman borders.

It's a huge difference between ottomans history and european one about this subiect. And many, many things for that we don't have proofs... Sultan and Vlad friendship never existed, Vlad was hostige. Sultan help Vlad, at 17 years, to gain the trone for one reason and only...to warship his country, Valahia, not because they were friends.
Beyond nationalism, it is important to be critical, none of them were perfect (M and V)
Well You're wrong on one thing, There are many records of Vlad and Mehmed taking classes together, even If They're not "Brothers" They're friendship was proven real, and Mehmed was shocked when Vlad betrayed him, Making it an actual hurtful betrayal,What Vlad did for vengeance is not justified, His revenge was only justified for Sultan Murad, Not for the Ottomans who never wronged him, He also killed Bulgarians (Yes not just the Ottoman Turks) just because They're Muslims, Yet He was called a Hero just because He accidently save Christendom by doing His revenge, His main intention was Revenge not to save Christendom, That Whole Impaling thing was too dramatic and cruel for it to be Heroic, Yet still You call him a Hero when He's no different from Genghis Khan, Stalin, Hitler, and Mao Zedong, Hitler was cruel and racist yet He in a way save Germany's Economy from poverty yet I don't see anyone calling him a "Hero", Vlad should be no different

Vlad's only "flaw" is that he didn't want to OBEY the sultan, and worse, DEFIED him (he wasn't the only one). and what the Sultan was doing was ONLY(?) good and justified according to Islam.
