    Oh I have one and I absolutely love it. When it gets sticky like I just clean it and it just glides thru the yarn again. Love it!

    I love this hook. The feel on my fingers and the esthetic. And i can crochet both with pencil grip and knife grip. And I love the long shank. The very downside for me is that with acrylic yarn, the yarn doesn’t slide smoothly as with metal hook.

    I just found out about these hooks. I saw them at a local yarn store and brought h & j hooks. I love them so far

    I have this set bought online for 18 dollars, but now they are like 32 dollars. I don't like them because yarn don't slide easy on hook. Just my experience.

    I have all of them and love them! I make stuffed animals and love the 3.5mm hook. I do wish they had a 5.5mm though

    I ordered this from Amazon and am returning it. I think it would be great for pencil grip crocheters but with the knife grip style I was chocking up on the long neck that it comes with. I started getting wrist pain too. There was a substantial amount of drag with the plastic. I went back to my clovers. They are a dream, like butta!!! I gave them a try though.

      Yes, there is such a wide variety of handle shapes now, sometimes it takes a bit to find "the" one that works for you since we are all unique too! Glad you found yours!

    Thank you for the review. I have been looking for the right hooks for me. I like my yarn to glide off my hook. I think I will stick with a meatal hook. what brand do you recommend?

    I have both the small and large hook sets and I love them... they were a bit pricey but I like them enough that the price didn't matter. The only downside for me is the sizes of the hooks are hard for me to read...

    I have 3 of these. I like how they feel, but the part from where you hold them to the tip of the hook is too long for me, so its a little difficult to manoeuvre with them.

    Just got these, and my green hook has the J and not the mm, opposite of yours. The gripping the yarn part is weird, not sure that I like it, but it could be worse with the specific yarn I'm using as I finish off this one project. Yarn is Ice Cream and it's a little bumpy. Anyhow, they are super pretty so hopefully I will get use to the grippy part.

    I love my Prym hooks. I have all three sets. My only gripe is not having a 5.5mm hook. I had to buy a similar-type 5.5 hook from another company as I crochet a lot with 5.5mm hooks.

    I just found this channel and didn’t bacteria bed. Nothing new since 11 months ago. Hmmm.
    Anyway, I have both sets of Prym hooks and I love them. They do squeak a bit on acrylic but otherwise, they’re really nice hooks. If you have arthritis, these are a great option.

  • @782meme

    Using them for one project that has splitty yarn. They are good with dealing with the yarn, although I'm not a huge fan of the hooks. They drag (on acrylic) and I feel like I'm having to move my hand a lot more than usual. If it weren't for this difficult yarn, I would not use these hooks.

    Ohhhh help me! I wish I can crochet other than pencil grip. I admire you and who else can crochet both pencil and knife grip. How do I do that without being miserable?

      You can find them on Amazon under ergonomic hooks. They do not have a specific name.

      I have the same starter set from amazon . They are the first hooks i bought when starting to crochet back in november 2020. I thought they were fine until they started to rub the cuticle of my thumb and ended up breaking the skin. ouch ! They are very Flat , the thumb rest is ribbed and very grippy. I was trying to make a blanket so it was a lot of stitches and being new i was crocheting for hours at a time, maybe that had something to do with it. Then when i discovered crochet on RUclips My mind was blown with hooks and yarn reviews etc, I ended up buying 1, I went with a size 6mm CLOVER Amour and They changed my entire crochet world. The difference in the smoothness of how they slide through the yarn opposed to the generic brand was HUGE!! just my little opinion :)

    • @michellesanchez741

      They come in a starter kit. A bag, hooks, stitch markers, scissors and a measuring tape. Just FYI 😊

    It's interesting they skip a crochet hook size. I really like their DPNS- they don't make a US 5 double pointed needle for knitting, either.

    I just got them delivered from Amazon and I read somewhere that Amazon sells fake ones. I'm trying to find out how to tell if mine are fake or real.

    • @HappilyHookedMagazine
      @HappilyHookedMagazine  3 года назад +3

      Oh I am not sure! They would probably just be in packaging that isn't labeled properly and the hooks wouldn't say "prym" on the handle at the bottom? I am not sure but I sure hope you didn't!

      @@HappilyHookedMagazine They did come in the same box as you showed. I emailed Prym and hoping to hear from them with some information as to how to tell. Thank you for answering my question. Stay safe!

    I am not sure if trying a set of new hooks you have never used before, with a grip you normally so rarely do, instead of your usual grip. Interesting.

      I've noticed a few hooks squeak sometimes, especially when using acrylic or 100% wool. I wonder if there is an easy way to fix that. Guess I have some research to do!

    • @justme26688

      They are lightweight and the grip is comfortable.

  • @sandygrogg1203
    @sandygrogg1203 8 месяцев назад

    These hooks are not comfortable for me at all. That’s probably because I have a very small hands. The shaft is too long, too.
    I much prefer my tulips, and my clovers. The handles are smaller, and the chefs are shorter. Just right for my child size Hands. But I do like how pretty these are I like the colors and they do nice and smooth. But the shape somehow not right for my hand and it hurts after a while . Thankfully, I only had one just to see if I liked it now I know.

    My gf got these and 2 of them broke the first time she used them. I see everyone saying they're good so I assume she got a faulty set but so far not impressed .-.

  • @BBFCCO733

    These are my least favorite hooks because of the plastic they are made with. They look really pretty, but when crocheting in the round, it gave me a hard time. The neck was wobbly and the plastic did not glide through the yarn like other plastics. Maybe if the manufacturer put a glaze over the hook it would help the quality.
