Reduce the 4000 hours to 2000 hours or 1000 because vods (long videos) are competing with shorts within the same app making it more difficult for small creators to obtain the 4000 hours .
Reduce Subscribers count and 4000 watch hours/yr for ypp. and also reduce threshold limit if you really care about ALL creators. Many times small creators left with emotional empty words while real benefits goes to big creators.
Honestly, I'm really excited about this latest development 🤗 This is something I believe almost every content creator like me has been expecting RUclips to do. Yes, but there were no ads in Shorts, so RUclips made little out of that too. The problem is: They did and Shorts fund was a joke for most creators. So there needs to be some sort of back pay, I agree.
One thing for RUclips, it should be allowed to make money while not being in RUclips Partner Program but they cant withdraw the money until they reach the milestone so they can still make money and be motivated

Whoever is reading DONT give up on your channel. Think about all the hard work that you have already put in. Every youtuber was once in your spot they just kept going. Stay consistent and you will reach your goals. consistent uploads and improvement and some determination is all you need! I am going for 350 subs by the end of December!!!

I really hope current YPP members are protected with this rollout. I'm nervous this will create massive dilution of ad revenue that could really impact small youtubers, and I just hope YT have thought this through, as wild swings in earnings can be quite devastating when you've put a decade into building your channel.
I hope this brings RUclips back to it's glory days. I miss this being the top. I hope shorts will lead me to better long form content. I can't sit on tik tok all day or watch reels constantly. I want to see what you do, then go learn more and build a better connection with people through longer videos without leaving the platform to go elsewhere. Really hoping for the best! Now to figure out these shorts because I don't get enough watch hours to meet partnership
Great update. I think this will definitely inspire more Creators to create shorts. However, it would be amazing if you applied this ad revenue model to Reaction Videos as well. Reaction Videos provide a huge value to millions of people and generate millions of views per month on the platform. As it stands now Creators who focus on reaction content are not eligible for any ad revenue whatsoever. I believe that it would be fair to apply what you are doing with shorts that use music to Reaction Channels that are in the Partner program and have proven to provide a value to viewers and RUclips.

This is great news! Hope you also let our custom thumbnail for shorts be viewed even just in the search results. So many potential viewers can be made if they can see our thumbnails rather than a randomly generated one which is sometimes not good.
This will force Shorts creators to utilize fair use, since there is an application process, shorts re-posters and spammers will be undoubtedly rejected ❌

So those of us creators who don't do shorts and just stick with the long form format, there is no change for ypp acceptance. My subs are still increasing, but my issue is that since Feb '22 my watched hours have been decreasing. Yes on occasions it goes up, but mostly going down. Overall I estimate that I have LOST around 800 watched hours!!!
I can relate. I was almost at 4K Public Watch Hours, around 3,012. Now Currently at 1,677. Each day, that number keeps going down..down..down, like gravity. It seems that I will never get that 4K requirement for Public Watch Hours. I thought once U get to 4K Public Watch Hours, U R set. I did NOT know that it will go down. Crazy.... Oh well...Such is life in the RUclips world. Perhaps, maybe some day.....................................................

Not those from those or other channels, not any other youtubers. I even checked the youtube community boards. Oops I tell a lie, someone did once tell me to leave a tweet for @TeamRUclips, but that isn't really possible as tweets are restricted to a set amount of characters, so would be pretty difficult to go into detail. Only other possible answer I have have was from someone on reddit*, and they suggested that it may be down to possibly some well viewed videos that have dropped off the 365 day period. At first I thought maybe, but that doesn't account for pretty consistent drops over the last 7 months. * This person is a creepypasta author and fellow creepypasta narrator. But they aren't as far along as me, so they couldn't be certain

this is amazing news! i've been working to build my channel for the last year and a half, posting weekly and now (additionally) posting 3-4 shorts a week to try to drive traffic. without hitting a viral video, I haven't been able to get to that 4,000 hours threshold and whenever i'm close, I miss it by my videos a year ago being taken out of the 1 year duration. this is a step in the right direction. Its good for creator who create more shorts, however recently i see massive decline in my shorts views i was growing and getting good number of views and it hit drastically and kind of demotivated. I have no strikes no copyright for a longgg time now still i am now not growing for the past 5-7 videos.
Finally you stop the dubious practice that if a creator used music, he lost ALL ad revenue to the music companies. This is a step to the right direction! I hope we still get to keep more ad revenue than the music companies!

Hi RUclips creators team, I see all my shorts videos with shorts audio library music in it of 15 seconds, seem to have a Restriction " Shorts library with third party content " and ineligible for monotization. To which I am worried now. does this means that I am not going to get ads or revenue sharing for the videos used shorts music library which youtube said free to use ?
