CQ Brown, Jr. speaks, at the change of responsibility and retirement ceremony, for Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman Ramón “CZ” Colón-López, at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va. A true legend. Even during his ceremony, he did not hesitate a second to help the soldier who fell out. He stands out as one of the best representation of a servant leader and warrior patriot. Honored to have served during his time. 🍻
I really admired him for the number of medal ribbons on his chest, and moreover, he did not hesitate to abandon his final solemn speech to help a fallen soldier. Thanks for serving, sir.
SEAC CZ is a true servant leader! This is evident not just from the multiple ribbons that adorn his uniform but from the advice he gives, even during his retirement speech he ran to help a comrade! In retirement he'll continue to inspire and lead! Sir your service to our country has been beyond exemplary and I wish you well in your retirement and future endeavors, I salute you Chief!

ICYMI. At 1:23 SEAC states that “we must ensure they do not loose that combat fighting….” And then the young Marine, holding the Marine colors unfortunately falls out and the SEAC runs to his aid. An incredible demonstration of love and care for people.
Thank you to our heroic military and their families. Gen. Brown gave a great speech as did the other speakers. Also thanks all those standing at attention who have taken an oath to serve our country. May our nation appreciate their sacrifice.

Exceptional ceremony that l watched with deep interest seeing how US forces are organized and get SEAC at highess level considering NCO’s backbone of armed forces.

SCARED! I asked Don Mansfield. Former POW. When he was scared. Many times. But....not as much as when i got shipped home. Im not the same. There not even recognize me. I was in jail. fist fighting..and given the option to go to jail ...or 18 months in Vietnam. Well......i was a farm boy. Me and my Dad... didn't get along much anyway. But now..... I'm going back to that world. That i wanted so Bad. To be out of this..... Existence. Back to Normal. NO WAY possible. And no one to talk too. Military says...give us a call. Thanks for your service. But nobody cared. And we're trained to deal with situations. Especially the personal. Man..... and all these skills... rifle..explosives...scoot n shoot...to read men's eye's....to kill...see your friends die. I cried in front of my Dad.. trying to explain. But...he just old schooled...told me to quit blubbering...so i did. And we never talked about it. I talk to you Mark. Your SERE training sure would of saved us alot of heart break and problems....and you still explain things...so i understand themm including my father. And your just a kid. 35! Scared of what i had become...and i didnt know what i was..and in the Civilian world? Vietnam isn't a pleasant topic. We try to forget. Until were...waking up. Shaking...Sweating..memorys flooding back. long nights....trying figure it out. And you stay wound up for a couple days. Can't shut it off. My mind knows...there no danger. But my body...is expecting incoming any minute. its...Crazy. and i can't shut it off. but....talking about it. seems to take the edge off. put it in perspective...again. Its Tough. But we deal with it. Not our first Rodeo. FEAR!
