My Great Uncle who was in World War 2. He always admired the way the Germans trained their soldiers. Because in the early Americans being sent over you just learned your job. In the German military it was the job of the person to know the job of the NCO and one level above. The NCO's had to know the operations and command choices that of the officers. So everyone in the German military was trained to take over for a wounded or killed soldier. At the time not many militaries were doing that. He learned of it because he was born in Austria and had moved to America before 1936 and got hitched to my Great Aunt. His brother stayed in Germany until 1938 he was leaving for America he had made it to the city to catch a train to France to transite to America. He was denied the ability to leave the country due to the current affairs of the state of being annexed by Germany. He was conscripted into the army and was a mechanic. He had smuggled out a letter not sure how but he had told them all about the German movements in the 1938- 1939 just before they attacked Poland.

Best team I have ever been on is my old cross country team. It’s weird because cross country isn’t really a team sport, but when we started to consider each other family instead of just teammates the difference was undeniable. Haven’t found the same kind of group since but I’m really looking for it.

I was on a small football team in the 70’s , we trained much harder than any team I’ve ever been associated with. Some guys just couldn’t take it and quit,, the team concept was very present. We went undefeated against several much larger teams,, that make me a true believer of the TEAM concept when I was just 17.
    Thanks for your videos

Everything you stated in here is why from a young age. I was learning tactics, I knew what a pincer movement was before I knew my ABC's, how to work in groups, think outside the box in all types of situations. Funny part was I learned my ABC's the military language before I knew what I was even talking about. I thought November was N and Alpha, Echo, India, October, Uniform, and sometimes Yankee's were my voules. My teachers were people who fought in World War 2 everything from 68W to Marines who stormed the pacific. Pilots from World War 2 Korea and Vietnam. The one thing they all taught me was working as a team is far better than working by yourself. My entire neighborhood except for about 6 families on four blocks two wide two length. So everyone worked together it did not matter if it was a full Col. helping an old privet or a Sr.Chief helping out a Captain. Now I will say that they did have some drawbacks at times but fighting in those wars who would not have problems. But we always even the police worked with the families at the time. Typically back in the 50's to the 90's Police changed dramatically. One group would thump yeah for looking at them wrong and the others just pulled over kids to be asses. When it came to Vets however they never had a fatal incident happen. A lot of my neighbors told me their stories about what they went through. That they never told anyone else. But it is like that when you know a person who is willing to be a part of something bigger than themself. They become a family closer than their blood family in almost all cases. That is one of the things I respect the most about our vets.

There are those who don't want to be on the team. They want the team to do the work for them, and then that individual tries to benefit by claiming that they're on the team. But really, they're a detriment to the team.

I try to implement this kind of thinking in my department at a hospital.
Specially that everyone do have a responsibility for tasks are done and that everyone in a team should be able to handle most tasks or have a specialist available if needed.
Seems like women arent as good teamworkers as men are.

The English Business Writing class that I teach at a Taiwanese university is a tremendous team. The Class Leader is superb and she helps me communicate with her peers (Taiwanese schools have a student who is like a TA for the teacher and I think that this is also done elsewhere in Asia). Everyone knows her duties and can take over if she’s absent (which is rare). The study groups know what to do when it’s time to present and everyone pretty much understands Commander’s Intent! Classes run smoothly!
