I want this with a black dial and maybe even a 12-hour bezel. Lume is super-important to me and having owned two D65s in 40mm, the weak lume is a non-issue... it's long-lasting and totally legible hours after being plunged into darkness. That's way better than crowd-pleasing torchlight lume that fades within an hour.
While not a relief dial, the 12H Calibre 400 at 40MM fits the bill. I found one at 30% off sticker and snatched it up immediately. Using the 12H to track a second TZ without moving any hands is incredibly convenient.
I don't understand who's ready to cash out that asking price for a "fun" watch with crazy summer colours. I am also missing the appeal of the 65. Like a half diver. Can I swim with those 100m if I hit the water a bit harder? The only driver 65 I like is the previous gen, a shame they don't produce it anymore.
I absolutely love this watch. I’ve owned 3 of the 40mm versions- two with the original re release with the block numerals and one with the dark blue dial and bezel. I’m convinced since these wear larger this is the perfect size. I hope the release “normal” color ways and bezels…. Will definitely pick one up if so
I've got a 12H Calibre 400 and happy to report that the pin & collar used here is rock solid and super-easy to re-size. Would I like screws? Of course, but at least it's not the chintzy cotter pins used in lower priced offerings. This is a gorgeous piece that I've been holding off on for months. Would really like to score one new under $2K since I don't believe the SW 200-1 should command a $2500+ price point. That coming from someone who owns three other SW 200-1s and appreciates the workhorses they are. OTOH, the Calibre 400 revision (400-2) is worth every penny.
I have the 40MM Diver 65 bronze bezel with the black dial & rose gold trimmed indices. I put it on a green NATO strap so it has a "military vibe" to it and it gets a TON of compliments because of it. You are exactly right about the crown btw. Aesthetically the watch is very pleasing but the downsides are the lume, the bezel which rotates far too easily (but does have a pleasing sound) and I wish the watch overall was built more robustly as I do like to actually wear my watches daily and don't want to worry about them getting damaged easily (that's what happens when you buy it off the internet without trying it on....lesson learned). Overall though, I really like this watch and am glad I bought it instead of the other watch I was considering at the time (Tudor Blackbay). I like the new pastel colors btw.
These look incredible in Bronze or Steel. These candy colors and the crystal make these very attractive watches. That being said for a dive watch, only 100m and poor lume, with a lower quality bracelet is very unfortunate for such a gorgeous watch. I would still purchase just because I buy for mostly aesthetic reasons and the bezel action is good too so for me it’s worth the price.
The best looking cotton candy they’ve made, but I just don’t trust the Selitta movements enough to ever buy another watch with that movement, as I’ve had nothing but crown/rotor troubles in every watch that I’ve owned with a Selitta movement.
yeah same, always Sellita but strangely, I rarely have issue with the ETA. I found the trick with Sellita is to only wind it when its fully dead. Just a couple turns get it to 40-50% full and let the automatic works fill up the rest while wearing. Or just use a watch winder. That way the fragile reverse gears are babied always.
This is such a beautiful blue. It's strange that they went backward on the bracelet features. Honestly a bit disappointing in a watch over $2K. I really don't understand why Oris doesn't put more effort into making their lume match in brightness. It's the little details that matter, especially in that price range. I'm a bit more forgiving on $500 watches.
I was told the bracelet was getting complaints it was unscrewing. With a double screw on each side I never actually confirmed. I do not remember if it had screws on both sides of the bracelet.
@@EscapementWatchThat's interesting! I've not had that with my personal (non-Oris) screwed in bracelets. I wonder if the brass material had something to do with it. I don't blame them for going back to the very security pin/collar system then. It only matters if I'm doing the adjusting. Once it's adjusted, I don't think about it.
You can probably pick one up around $1500 if you look around. They are well finished pieces in the flesh. I have a Bico. Although the cal 400 would justify the price, the sellita is accurate, reliable, and EASILY serviced.. I can calibrate it myself
Seems over priced for a selita based movement, no on the fly adjustment, average bracelet, and poor lume. Nothing to make me want to spend that amount of money when there's better options out there.
The BRONZE version: ruclips.net/video/w4pRhW1_hOc/видео.html
So poor lume on indexes ! Nice watch, nice style, nice finish, but totally unacceptable lume on a brand like Oris with its range price.
Totally agreed oris seems to overly priced for what you get
Yeah oris used to be cool but now theyre overpriced with not much heritage

I would love a black dial as well but with the deauvullel dial.

@@akediord Absolute cracker, the 12-hour one you got. But I would prefer to have the same watch in 38mm

Nice watch. Not sure if the brushed bracelet is a good match for the polished watch head. Way too expensive for a ducers 65.

With this new smaller is in direction, my seamster 300 reduced 36 is fully back in style
I have the Bronze version of this watch in blue and I'm considering this model as well. It's just such a special size and color as well
Overpriced for Oris 😢
Nice watch by Oris, i personally prefer the understated pointer date versions
I have a Pointer Date and love it. Only watch I’ve bought from an AD.
Hands down SPB 62 mas before this

amazing blue colorway☺
I think so too!

$2,500 for this watch is a joke

It's an Oris. And you can find it for 1900 at grays.
Misaligned bezel? On a 2k watch? Is this a seiko or what?
My Oris 40mm was misaligned and I showed taking it apart to fix it on insta. It is very easy to remove the bezel on the D65s.
@@EscapementWatch good you were able to fix it easily but wtf. Brands don't give a shit anymore
yeah all mass produced watches will always have something.

I would just purchase a Lorier Neptune or a Raven watch for the value totally blows them out of the water .
This watch has its quarks but it’s a charmer. I could see it on Bill Murray’s wrist in Life Aquatic
