Put this guitar together at home, tele-strat hybrid. Mounted a telecaster neck on a stratocaster body. Mounted a telecaster bridge on a stratocaster body. Master volume and tone. New idea for strap holders Видеоклипы
Damn man, I wanted to hear a strat-tele hybrid with a tele bridge pickup and strat neck pickup. You built yours almost exactly the way I would with the best parts of each guitar.
Would sure love to hear it. I just built my own Telecaster and ended up with 2 of everything, so I was thinking about gutting my old Squier Bullet Strat and putting all the top of the line spare Fender Telecaster hardware, wiring, pickups, etc. in it. Great job.
Nice one, I've got a Strat body going spare and a set of tele pups. You've convinced me to build one. It's going to have all tele electronics. Cool
Would like to see it when you get done! Thanks
How cool! You did exactly what I want to do to my 92 Korean Squire Strat. It was my first guitar so I have an attachment to it and don’t want to part with it. Don’t play it all that much anymore however, so I thought that would be really cool thing to do with it. She would like to hear a sound test on that.
AMAZING I AM GOING TO MAKE MY OWN!!
We wanna hear it. Great ideas all round, the strap hooks are a must, copywrite the design.
Hey Guilio, thanks for the comments! Check out my other videos to hear the guitar.
I have considered doing exactly the same thing, I always block my trem in my strats and wondered how a tele bridge would work on them. I’m digging the Burro.
Thanks for your comment! Check out my other Burro videos where I play it some and talk more about the build. I really like it, I'd do it again for sure.
Looks great but I would have loved to hear it

Beautiful!!
Thank you! :)
Cool !!! Rock & Roll burro!
That turned out really cool! I just watched a video where a guy said you can't put a Tele neck in a Strat body! Said it wasn't worth the trouble. I'd like to do like you did. I have a Tele neck that I really like! You just showed if you put your mind to it, that it can be done! Nice job!👍😎🎸🎶
Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, it wasn't difficult. Done in about an hour, started and shaped with a rasp and finished with sandpaper. No alterations to the body neck pocket, just the neck. Measure and set the bridge, done.
David Milton that's awesome! You have a really cool and unusual guitar. I really like something that stands out from the norm! I know I'll try it sometime. There's something about the feel of the Tele necks I have that I like so much better than the Strat one I have. Thanks again for the video!👍😎🎸🎶
Very cool!
Thanks for watching!
Heavy duty! Nice.
Thank you!
I like the strap.
Gretsch vintage tooled leather strap. Part no. 922-0021-000
It's alive!
I'd love to know more about how you got the neck to fit in the strat pocket. I'm looking to do this, but there seems to be little information out there. Thanks!
Thank you for your interest and comment. I'm planning on doing some more work on the "Burro" soon and an update video should follow. I'll discuss this further in the video when the neck is off. I've done this twice both times the same way. You have to remove wood from the tele neck. Stay away from the body neck pocket. Do not modify the body neck pocket. You will concentrate on profiling the neck corners on the sides only. Remove no wood from the bottom of the neck. I used a file to begin with and then sand paper, I think 80 or 100 grit to get the rough shape. Both times I also had to remove a slight amount of wood from the bottom side of the neck (where the truss rod adjustment nut access is...sanding only) to get the profile. However the amount required to be removed should not be so much to affect intonation if youre using a a strat bridge...you should be able to compensate with saddle adjustment. Go slow and keep checking for fit. It took me about an hour each time. You could likely also trace out a strat neck with a piece of card stock paper and glue it to the neck with rubber cement or something and use that too I suppose. Go slow and check for fit. Its not very difficult. Thanks again, Dave
@@davidmilton9616 That makes a lot of sense to adjust the neck instead of the pocket. Good info.
looks good man, thats something origanal you ll wanna keep for life.Guitarest should put thier own spin on them.
Thanks! I've been really happy with it.
Wow!.. sounds.... .. great???

So funny , I’m thinking of turning my tele into a strat. I don’t know if a strat bridge would on a tele. I would keep the tele bridge pick up.
Hardtail style might work out, tremolo would be difficult. I think Fender at some point did a 3 pickup "strat" design tele.
Did you modify the body or Neck to get them to fit well ? 😮
I only modified the neck. Check out my other video at time 6:40 for a description on this.

Thanks for watching!
hello I would like to know how to modify the bridge changes the sound of the guitar, or just the appearance of it,
You had to reshape the neck pocket?
That's always why they tell you not to put Tele necks on Strat bodies, while it works fine in reverse, - though I know it's not a huge difference.Dosen't effect scale length when done properly.
Was considering a similar mod on a hardtail body and top loading Tele bridge that I scrapped about a decade ago,- maybe even a baritone.Vastly prefer Tele necks and headstocks,- they just feel right.
Nice.Made to personal specs.
Thanks for your interest. No i never touched the neck pocket. To get the fit, I only worked on the neck, never touched the body neck pocket. Thats asking for problems. Thanks, Dave
Hey, the Burro looks awesome, I’m considering a similar mod with a 70’s Duo Sonic but I’m having the worst time finding a string through bridge tele style bridge… I know you said this was a Kluson bridge, but even using that brand in my search is coming up empty for me. Do you have a link to a bridge for sale like the one you used for this guitar?
Thanks for checking out my channel. I can't find the Kluson either, but here is a link for a Fender brand one. Hope this is helpful. Thanks again

I have always wondered why fender has never made a guitar like this.
Yes, me too. They've certainly made just about every other combination. Thanks for the comment!
I just had this thinking of buying a tele with single coils but i have already a tele but with humbuckers so i though; because i am spending to much money in music would i be able to put a tele bridge on my chapman cap10 v1 so i will buy the pickups only instead of buying a new guitar? I saw your video and i am happy i will soon transform that chapman cap10 into a monster,it is already i love that thing . I think i will love it even more . Thanks and great guitar you have.
Sounds like a fun project! I think you will like it!
@@davidmilton9616 thanks, for now my guitar needs to hold on but I will do this to her 100% .
@@davidmilton9616 hi its me again ok i will start today on moving on and make this guitar usable to my fingers. question; have you altered the pickup pocket on the body to fix the tele bridge/pickup???? would i be fine to just order a bridge and not do any more digging to the body of my cap10? cheers
@@redsilverjack Hi Rui, Yes I had to enlarge the bridge pickup pocket. I used some hand tools (small wood chisels) and I sealed the wood after working on it. I think I used some shellac. Order the bridge and once you have it you can see how much you need to remove. It wont be a lot. I look forward to seeing your project!! Thank you.
@@davidmilton9616 thanks david . Yes defenetly will show you the end result. Appreciated thanks a lot
Hey can you tell me about the process of the tele bridge im considering it on my strat
First I had to fill the tremelo cavity, just the hole that goes completely through the strat body. I used epoxy, but I think if I did it again I would use a fiber strand auto body filler. Epoxy has held up fine though. I used a vintage style bridge with string through the bridge holes. Its a Kluson bridge. Once the epoxy fill was leveled and sanded and finished I bolted the neck in place (with tuners). I took the high and low E strings and threaded them through the bridge and positioned the bridge about were I thought it should be. Used masking tape to hold bridge in place I then threaded the strings through the tuners and tightened them enough to have a straight taut string. I then measured the correct bridge distance from the nut and using the strings as a guide along both edges of the neck I located the bridge in the correct position. I re-taped it securely with good masking tape. I marked my holes, drilled them and mounted the bridge. I measured all this about 3 times to avoid mistakes. I'm no luthier, and good chance there is another way, but that is what I did, and I think it worked really well. I'm intonated with plenty of adjustment both ways and when strung up to pitch the strings are equidistant from the edge of the fingerboard and centered. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching and the comment.
Did you have to cut out the shape of the bridge into the pick guard or did you just screw down right over it?
I cut the pickguard out with a small, fine, hacksaw blade and exacto knife. Used files to finish the edges. Was a pia. Probably a better way, but that's how I did it. Thank you.
Lol that's a great one
What does it sound like?
Please check out a couple other videos I have where I play it. Thanks for watching!😀
I like the burro name XD but I thinks The mule or La Mula could be a better name XD
I agree! I wanted to name it the "Mulecaster" or "Mule" since the Mule is a cross/hybird of the horse and donkey. Problem was Mulecaster and Mule are already names for other guitsrs so I picked Burro. Thanks for watching!
Looks like the scale length is shorter?
Its the standard 25.5 inch length
You forgot to do a sound check for us? Or no? (why)

How much to have you build one of these?
I just build these for my own enjoyment. You can probably build one yourself beginning at $500 and up depending on what materials you decide to use. Thanks!
@@davidmilton9616 how long did it take you and how hard was it to do this because I’m debating on doing this or not.

Sound???????
Please look at my other videos for sound of the guitar. Thanks

stelecaster
Gee, you didn’t give any sound samples.....

Thank you
No chance of playing it then! phht!
Thanks for the comment. Please see my other video to hear it and see it being played.
dont do volumn swells? why ya pull the plug... fuc? why play it ? put knobber back in 1st hole, junk the other two
its a freakin strat
You're wrong. Try listening to the video. I removed one tone so now it has only a master tone. Moved volume down one position easier volume swells without getting in the way of playing
Are you kidding me? Play the guitar
Watch my other videos to hear & see the guitar
And you're not even gonna play it. Blah.
