I like the idea of the xenomorphs bleeding into people's dreams via telepathy. Seems quite fitting as HR Giger who came up with the concept of the alien had night terrors, with a strong nightmarish biomechanical aesthetic. His therapist suggested he try and draw his dreams. And so the seed of inspiration for the xenomorph was implanted, to later burst forth.
ah yes, i read about that in a comic, cant remember who it was, a soldier, or newt? somone was near the cage that held the queen mother, and heard someone they loved - someone they cared deeply about - calling for help, wanting to be set free. nearly worked on them too, they nearly opened the cage and let her out
@@trancefixforum9540 The long story is that in the director's cut they successfully trap the xenomorph in the toxic waste storage. Golic, the insane survivor of one of the earlier attacks (who they suspect of killing the two other prisoners) seemingly starts getting instructions from it and ends up releasing it. Some details may be slightly off, I haven't seen the movie in a few years.
@@Dimetropteryx been a while since I've seen it but I thought it was Ripley who convinced the prisoners to open it up and kill it because she knew Wey-Yu would just capture the specimen if they didn't get rid of it

One can say that this part about the dreams are direct inspirations of Lovecraft works, in the sense that if an old one is nearby, dead or such, you will have nightmares. Take that into consideration, and one could say that in the Alien universe, Lovecraft's fiction might as well be about the Xenomorphs.
Here's a theory: Now that we know the facehugger doesn't put in an egg, but a complex set of proteins that reshape DNA, I think the alien that comes out is a...reshape? remade? form of yourself. Essentially, you give birth to an Xeno version of yourself.
It's about time for our fandom to step up and show our omnipotence. Let mr. Derek from Alien Theory sit in the space jockey seat lol I bet he probably be the most qualified human being on the planet to actually get in the chair or Michael Fassbender.
This video really hits home for me. By losing my mother 3 years ago from a heart attack I feel a certain connection with the dialogue. I remember the inner warmth of being held and cradled as a very young child by her even though it's been over 30 years ago since I was a small boy. I was overly sensitive and used to cry when I had to be away from her at nights. I could feel how she could manipulate civilization into worshiping her because the mother's love is the first love any human being ever have. It is the perfect love even before people learn about God, one experience the love of mother first. very powerful

Funny enough I had a xenomorph dream once, clearly influenced by my reading of the comics. A crew was trapped in their spaceship, a xenomorph terrorising them. A number of crew sealed themselves into a room, decorated like todays normal living room...no weapons, no plan. The Xenomorph couldn't get in and they couldn't get out without facing it. After many days of waiting, the alien, unable to break into the room, used telepathic/psychic means to stir euphoric delusion, confusion, paranoia and mistrust amongst the crew. They were all going slowly crazy, not really knowing why. Some would try and open the door. Others would try and kill other members. Eventually the only suitable plan was to let it in and try and over power it together, knowing most would die, but at least they would go fighting. I found it interesting in the morning; the idea that the Xenomorph is still an ultimate being or weapon, even when removed from the physical space. Just waiting in the darkness of a ships hull, patiently still and infiltrating fear into the minds. I loved that dream, it was about 10 years ago now.
3:45 Similar to the book title "I have no mouth but I want to scream." Never expected the Alien universe to start delving into the realms of cosmic horror (H.P Lovecraftian style)...honestly, I love that feeling of paranoia that is uncomprehensible to the imagination. Nice work, I adore these videos.
Remember Alien3? Runner made one guy crazy, by talking to him, with minds. So they're sapient, they know "how to cut the power", and they have telepathy too. Ideal organisms!
In the comic its confirmed that the average xenomorph drone by itself is barely able to match the intelligence of a dog. So the xenomorphs really are animals for the most part. It's the queen that's different. A xenomorph queen has the IQ of Einstein and as shown in the video can use telepathy. She uses telepathy to command and direct the drones for her purposes. So drones cutting the power are likely just following the queen's instructions even though they don't comprehend why.
I can see where the Tyranids got their Genestealer "Cult"'s system from, i'm glad the Xenomorphs came up with this interesting idea and how terrifying these creatures are.
I'm currently playing Aliens: Dark Decent. There's a lot of telepathic connection that takes place between some humans and the aliens. It seems to play a big role somehow in the Aliens universe.
This was great. Very lovecraftian cosmic horror side of Alien. If you haven't read Covenant Origins. *SPOILER* Do you think that the Prophet Duncan Fields was one of the first to have these sorts of dreams/visions?
I was always curious what kind of "dreams" or visions (if any) do those people have when they are in their comatosed state while being impregnated by a Facehugger.
Alpha Crusaders yeah it's really creepy isn't it the fact that she can send you a the love of a mother to a human being, combine with Derrick's unquestionably talented dialogue delivery makes this a very creepy and entertaining watch. i love this guy and i personally endorse his channel

I've actually had dreams about the Xenomorphs from Aliens. They are very vivid and nightmarish. In the dream I am a Colonial Marine fleeing a Xenomorph attack. The APC I am in is crawling with the things and they are ripping and tearing at the outer hull to get in. One of them rips a hole in the roof and there is a fire. I always wake up right before they get in. Has anyone else had similar dreams?
Had a dream about a virus Turing people into monsters and then later when I got infected, I turned into a xenomorth and was trying to kill people. Weird as hell. Plus time traveling between two worlds .
I have a question, would the Juggernaut on LV423 had been destroyed when the Atmospheric Reactor Blew up? They said it would have blasted everything within 30 clicks, so I've always wondered if the juggernaut was in range? Weyland Yutani/Walmart was so focused on getting a specimen, I always wondered why they just didn't send a designated crew back out to LV423 to get one, but if the juggernaut was destroyed in the blast, it would make perfect sense at least.
So it seems that the xenomorphs have been fresh in the human mind acts as a nightmare. The image of the xenomorph can be expressed in the human mind that it may infiltrate someone's dreams.
Hmm... That would explain the xeno’s ability to render their victims unconscious when they’re being cocooned. That’s something that always bugged me about the series. Maybe the queen can channel psionic energy to anyone is close proximity to her drones, and that’s why they grab you. Yeah yeah, I know... or they could just knockout venom in their tail stingers, but I always hated that theory.
