    I guess gear space (cough cough) made a list in 2023 but updated it to include some 2024 DAWs. So I wanted to make a video going over my thoughts of the selection. 😁 From 1 to 10 What order do you guys and girls think these DAWs should be in?

      1 to 5 :
      Studio One
      Ableton Live
      Logic Pro (started not to use it so often as it does not run on PC, sad cause plugins were cool and the virtual drummer amazing)
      Reaper : A bit cumbersome to use, but powerful and runs fast on PC.
      Cubase (for plugins I still use sometimes, but the DAW is too buggy & cumbersome for me in 2024)

      @@fab672000you’d be dead on if Bitwig didn’t exist. It is the most intuitive and creativity inspiring DAW out there. That said, it is lacking features that prevent it from being a one stop shop.

      What i find funny is if you do a google seach on the most beginner friendly DAW you get Avid Pro Tools, but.....but....if you do a seach on my complicated and most problematic DAW you *ALSO* Avid Pro Tools.....that is funny as hell.

      Some of my friends use it and they make insane instrumentals with all of the rack gear it comes with. I'm glad to see people still use it and that it is picking up in popularity. I may have to take a look myself.

    Thanks for sharing! Found it very informative. I recently started back into music and have only used Akai's MPC software since it came with the controller I got. Works for me so far. But I guess ignorance is bliss. Not having used any other of these DAWs, I really don't know what I'm missing out on. I'll probably try Logic out when I get better since I'm on Apple. But I haven't come close to having the software be the limiting factor for me.

    Hello there Joshua , I just subscribed because I liked this video, I'm very frustrated with studio one (im a beginner on daws ) but I hate the lack of content for beginners I'm to the point that if I'm going to invest time on learning a daw I might do cubebase , I mainly do metal music , any advice?

    have studio one pro... but im thinking of changing. they are adding features like notion and other things to the subscription based model and not giving it in their pro version. its like they are trying to force the sub model on people. you dont buy the top end model of something to get less features.

    I tried Reaper but I didn't like how when i imported a MIDI file from a notation program, some of the notes got messed up so I had to spend quite a long time fixing it to where it's supposed to be. Since MIDI and virtual instruments are a big part of my workflow, this was a big turnoff. I now use Cubase.

    Yikes, the only reason I would try every DAW out there is if I was so out of musical ideas that I needed to distract myself from that frustration. (I can see, though, that pro producers & editors might hit a brick wall in a particular direction of their current DAW, and then _need_ to switch.) But man, what a monumental suck hole for your limited creative time & attention!! It takes _months_ of constant use to get quick & intuitive with a new program.

    • @joshuabutlermusic
      @joshuabutlermusic  3 месяца назад

      It's not a suckhole for me. I'm a tech nerd and I love seeing different ways companies implement things. Studio One has been my #1 DAW for the past 9 years or so. I can navigate it blindfolded. BUT, Cubase Pro 13 REALLY has my attention currently. 🤔 Which DAW do you enjoy?

  • @Byron101_
    @Byron101_ 3 месяца назад +2

    Worldwide (!) the three old kings are absolutely great in 2024 too - Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase! Even if their names are "old", they have developed a LOT over the years. It's not an old code from the 90ths anymore! And younger daw companies keep stealing good features from them. 😅
