Well i tried both, and in the end went with the cb1000r black edition. Best decision ever. Im not saying is better, but im in love with it, every morning when i look at it.
In terms of power, performance and feature, I think MT-10 dominates CB completely. MT's engine got much bigger HP, and torque that attached to chassis + suspension that derived from the newest R1. MT is also equipped with 6-axis IMU, complete with cruise control, newest ride by wire system, variable speed limiter, amplifier grille in fuel tank, and another gizmos that CB don't have . But if we talk about styling, i must say the winner is CB. The neo sports cafe design is really cool and timeless. Single sided swingarm, spoked wheels, and that round headlight design are likable almost to anyone, unlike MT-10's exotic transformers looks that not really everyone's cup of tea. With only $1.000 apart, what's will be your pick? Exotic looking motorcycle with ton of extra features and power that can keep up with superbikes, or timeless classic neo sports cafe design with just enough power and feature for your daily commuting and maybe an occasional track day?
in terms of power for street and road riding you wont notice any difference in between this two bikes the cb is fast enough to keep up and it certainly looks way better .
I’ve seen a few people that have the mt-10 with issues of the motor blowing up. There’s a video of a UK engineering/motorcycle repair college that addressed the issue of the bike running hot from the factory and that an exhaust, tune and clutch upgrade would solve the problem.
I picked the cb over the mt last year mainly for the reason that the cb isn’t a high horsepower producing engine. It’s not stressed which will hopefully equal longer life. I would love to ride the mt though it is definitely a step above in the engine and chassis department. The Honda is not slow but the Yamaha is definitely faster

Once you add a full exhaust system like Akrapovic and get a Woolich tune you unleash the inner beast of the CB. Essentially becomes a naked Fireblade, creating around 165ph and removes the 6k rpm flat spot. Totally transforms the bike.
Yea, then do the same to the MT and it crushes it. All the new bike's have so much emissions making power and fuel economy suffer. As long as you that's what counts!
Both are great bikes and let's be honest, the average rider could not exploit the difference between the two. Nonetheless, I'm a Yamaha rider, owned an 07 R1 and currently have a 13 Stryker. Just put my deposit down on a 22 MT 10 which is expected in August. I can't wait. Enjoy the ride no matter what manufacturer of two wheels you're on!!!
These comparisons are cool. Specs shouldn't be the only reason people buy a motorcycle. The style of the bike is what people buy more than specs. Yes specs matter but the bike should speak to you in terms of the style and the type of riding you do. Even tho this this mt 10 has some better specs than the cb I would never buy the mt 10. Looks alone are one reason I personally wouldn't buy one. I do though own the 2021 black edition cb1000r and I love it. It is a rocket ship when you want it to be but yet rolls around town flawlessly and people comment on how nice the bike is everytime i take it out.. Money well spent and it is great in all the riding I do. From commuting to carving up the mtn roads in Idaho to weekend road trips it does it all awesome.

I don't typically like these side by side comprisons, but this one was well done. I bought the CB and have put 10,000 km on it so far, it is a good looking bike that I think is even better in person than in the videos. There were not any MT in my area at the time, hard to say which I would have went with, that MT engine is sublime but the CB is a really good looking bike, and its not slow either. Changed the rear shock to an ohlins and it is now a really good performing bike as well. I do second guess myself whenever I see an MT10 pull up.
I love hondas my dad used to have a cb 1300 what a beast i remember as a kid being scared of it. Now i sold my mt07 2020 and ordered the mt 10 2022.. i was so close on getting that cb tho
Would you recommend a shock change? I have a 2022 CB1000R and have noticed some shock annoyance. Also - how much did you end up paying in full for the swap?
@@twowheelskorea1187 the shock makes a big difference. The stock one was the biggest issue with the bike for me, it was kind of bouncy. I’m in Canada and it cost $1600 Canadian dollars for the shock with shipping and taxes.
This really is not fair it's it's a huge mismatch the the mt10 blows it away in performance but I agree with you The Hondas way better-looking the mt10 is ugly as hell I saw it in person I won't buy it just because it's so ugly however bang for your dollar the Mt 10 is tough to beat.
The MT10 could get that kind of fuel range only if you went about 40 miles per hour for the entire tank. In reality, with regular riding, the fuel range is about 90 miles.
Actually closer to 110 miles of average riding 125 to 130 on a motorway in top. To only get 90 you need to be track riding. The motors do get slightly better fuel consumption with some miles on them
With the revisions to the motor for euro 5 compliance the claim to have improved fuel economy but I’ve also heard if you want to cane it it still drinks hard
0:40 so that mean, it's time for Honda to replace that CB1000R's current machine with CBR1000RR-R's engine and make it a little bit lighter than current model

Io uso il CB Anche e maggiormente per fare casa/lavoro tutti i giorni in tutte le condizioni, e ti assicuro che mi trovo davvero bene. Certo non posso dire che sia il mezzo definitivo per questo tipo di utilizzo, ma per me che amo le moto, la trovo davvero una moto che puoi usare per fare tutto. Credo però che rispetto ad altri mezzi, farci un viaggio medio lungo in 2 sia decisamente scomodo per chi sta dietro
Have had both receiving cb1000r. Much better looking but overall kind of boring to ride. The mt10 is really ugly in my opinion but so much character with his power delivery and sound

Yeah, once you get past a certain point, like 3 second 0-60, all the power in the world doesn't make that much more of a difference.

Which Ohlins did you switch to? I'm on the 2021 model and that's basically all I have left to complain about on mine.
