I wouldn’t say better than ever. As good as ever since about 2010 imo. He played really well on DM album and tour. They were all extremely rusty when the HWSD TOUR started and peaked and fell off a bit overall right before the symphony shows. Since the pandemic they’ve been as good as they’ve been in a decade. Give Kirk props. He was most improved. He was really trash around 2016. Like, I was worried he would not be able to knock the rust off. He came flying back and hasn’t hit the ground yet. Absolute star of S&M2 and the 40th shows.
this song is great because it does not stay overlong like many others on St.Anger. great main riff great doomy riff great breakdown riff and I can find myself as an asshole in these lyrics .

Original recording's "I" part giving much more mental insanity atmosphere to this one, so i prefer album version, but this sounds cool as well !mm!
He also changed "gavel" to "hammer" I think it sounds better!
