The average person has never been so poor. Millions of families are struggling financially as living expenses hit the highest levels in more than four decades. Over 60% of our country lives paycheck to paycheck and about 40% earns poverty wages. Even after working all their lives, more than a quarter of older people have no savings and many believe they will never be able to retire in dignity, while around 55% of elderly people try to survive on an income of less than 25,000 a year.

The government spends money crazy, they have no concern for the people that paid for it. Going back on the gold standard, they will have to have respect for the people. Credit will be limited, businesses who live off of credit will shut down, the readjustment, will be painful, but it has to happen. People live out of their means, life was very simple, before 1971. Families were important, mothers left their children went off to work. So now we have disrespectful kids, who never grew up, that will live in their parent’s basements forever, with their high priced video games.

Our Constitution is the ONLY thing that has been standing in the way of complete collapse and takeover; which would allow for a revolution that in this day and age with the military and social engineering /propaganda technology the world has; would only end in a "Democracy" in appearance, but with MUCH more despotic and authoritarian governing body... There NEEDS to be a revival of people who know and respect and fight for our Constitution, as it has been and STILL IS the envy of the world.

The unchecked growth of government and regulatory agencies has created a behemoth that's nearly impossible to contain. Millennial ICU nurse here... thanks for calling my generation entitled. Love that. I've totally loved delaying buying a house and starting a family. We entered adulthood in a crappy job market with frankly ever-rising asset prices, saddled with enough debt from the college education (our boomer parents pushed every single one of us to have whether it was what society really needed or not) to buy a house with it. We've all loved having pretty crumby job security too because while wall street did well, the real economy suffered. In particular, I think we really liked it when we were basically told we were "non-essential." The older generations weren't the ones working in the "non-essential" service industries. but, then when it was deemed we should not complain or ask for too much for that would be entitled. Post-COVID when the labor market was actually for once an employees market yes we flexed some muscles. So yeah I really appreciate hearing how entitled my whole generation is. What a joke. I like you Sachs I really do but I've about had it listening to that. As the days turned into weeks into months during the pandemic and I was taking care of terribly sick, suffering people in the hospital I had to wonder why everyone thinks we're so entitled. I don't feel entitled. I look around at others of my generation I don't see entitled. I see a generation fed up. I'm middle-aged looking down the barrel of an economy that has been screwing me over from day one. Life isn't fair. Life is hard work. Thats ok. But, sometimes the game is rigged and that's an entirely different kettle of fish. Where people see entitled, I see fighting back with the only weapons we might ever have.

That’s your story. The rest of the story is riots in the streets. Protest about Palestinians and acting like children while going to elite universities. Going to overpriced schools and claiming you were too dumb to know the real cost and demanding the government bail their tuition out. Praising someone like a “democratic socialist” on mass as the solution to a broken government system. Complaining that “white supremacy” is the biggest concern of our time, and bloviating on about being white means you’re “privilege” but simultaneously a victim when the goalpost shifts. Acting like our country is in shambles but simultaneously demanding we open the border to bring in more in financial ruins. Demanding to live in hip cities and admitting none of you can afford to live there…
There are alot of reasons why your generation gets mocked, but it’s not because of the description you expressed or the innocuous way you claim you live your life.

Millennials and Gen Z are not the issue. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The most entitled generation are the baby boomers. They lived the best of America at the expense of America. They hold absolute power in this nation and could care less if you die in a ditch. Anyone whom says otherwise is either a liar or completely out of touch. The good news is those boomers that are left will suffer worse than the rest of us. By stock in the big corporations that own the private prisons. That sector is exploding. Profiting on human misery is the American way. And the future is dystopian.

#1 The devaluation of our money verses lack of pay increase. There aren’t enough work hours in the day to afford this.
#2 Fuel costs are driving costs of everything through the roof.
#3 Crime is out of control.
    #4 Taxes are too high.
#5 Wasteful Government spending is out of this world.
#6 Government regulations are excessive and stifle business.
    #7 Not enough Trade Schools.
#8 Lack of Government Investment into America, instead of foreign countries.
#9 Less USD being used for the petroleum trade.
#10 Predatory Student Loans / Home Loans.
#11 Healthcare costs bankrupt the average American.
    #12 Insurance costs are excessive.
That’s at least some of reasons we are struggling.
#13 Get money out of politics. Term limits.

The biggest problem is most of major companies in the United States moved overseas, people lost jobs, greedy corporations make beyond god level $ and treat employees terribly and pay them as little as possible. Oil prices skyrocket which drives up diesel & gas for farmers which in turn drives up food prices. Greedy homeowners that rent houses raise prices to astronomical amounts, automobile manufacturing uses recycled materials to build vehicles for pennies on the dollar-brand new vehicle is priced 10s, 20s, 30s of thousands of dollars over manufacturing prices. Credit card companies raise interest rates, banks raise interest rates, colleges raise prices to students each year. Shall I go on?!

She ISNT lying about the food banks or the quiet layoffs- not only have I seen this in two different states in different regions of the US; I’ve BEEN in those lines several times in my region! Even as a single, average American income earner, between debts, being in between contracts until earlier this yr, & helping my mom who practically makes minimum wage, we BOTH have been in these lines. It takes hours out of your day & often, the food isn’t even up to date, hardly ever remotely healthy (tons of sugary snacks, cereals, & breads); but we were grateful for it, especially the things we were able to use & store (rice, meat, beans, nuts, eggs, milk, etc.). It’s crazy out here. I’ve even stood in those lines to share food with many homeless people who can’t go to those places without a car or way to transport food items (ones that don’t need to be cooked). It’s soo scary to see food scarcity unfold on the ground level.😢
And now at my current job, many workers are being termed for lack of work (but they’re terming them as poor performers so they won’t have to do layoffs & adhere to what comes with doing that 😡)
Scary times- that’s why I stay in prayer & am trying by best to get right with my Lord & Savior; He’s the only one who really knows what we should do, when, how, & ultimately why.

Every situation is unique so I hope this helps. In short, I'm 42, was raised in a house built by a civil war soldier, had just enough growing up, and now about to retire.
How I did it was opened a small handyman side business. . I lwasnt great at it but had my dads tools and asked a lot of ppl at lowes how to fix things lol. Little jobs here and there outside my regular job. I took anything I could get and saved, built a very small house (again, not sure how but asked anyone i could amd made plenty of mistakes). Eventually and thankfully landed a few good contracts, kept the 2 jobs up until my business felt secure.
I stayed out of debt best I could, saved everything I could, then invested in old houses. The market was full then, now not so much but they are still out there. I bought not dumps, bit ones I didn't have to pour money into. I bought one, rented it, saved, kept working. Bought 2, rented it, saved, kept working. I did this for 6 places over 4 years. When the market got high 4 yrs ago I sold all while keeping debt near 0 and working my now semi big maintenance businesses
Could have kept going but working a full time contract job AND dealing with rentals AND having a family was very stressful.
I'm not saying it works for everyone, and maybe I could have done something better to make more but I like what my pastor always says "I'm not preaching at you, just a begger telling another begger where I got my bread"

There is no way those jobs can afford my neighborhood today. My taxes alone are $16k, insurance $2k, water/elect/gas/garbage over $4k. Normal people can't afford these homes or the expenses to live in them. But service jobs are still in my area, which means they have to drive forever paying $4.50 per gallon gas and all the car expenses just to get to work. Starting wages are at $22 per hour for most jobs. I just don't see how people start out today and keep their head above water. This is like my friends house in young ranch fushear. I think their house is worth 745,000 dollars now. I'm guessing it was around 250 k 10 years ago when they bought it. That would be quite a hefty payment now for a new buyer.. I wonder who would be buying that? It's not teachers and truckers like you said. I don't think there are enough families that make that income, in the amount of houses that there are, they are priced very high.

Go to other places in the world, and they're building out of concrete or stone.
There has been significant research done on building with air crete, and using that material in the application of dome homes.
These are considered category 5 buildings meaning they can withstand a lot of natural disasters, and yet we are building with wood? Our real estate infrastructure in America needs an upgrade.

@@tracypeters4252 I was just going to say the same thing about building homes with aerated concrete blocks “Hebel” is a well known brand. Also what’s fundamental is passive solar, orientation, design including thermal mass in those colder climates, optimal shading, glazing ratings etc. Blocks need to be designed to maximise the aspect-solar path in Summer to let the heat in with thermal mass to retain it overnight. Compact clever designs with storage solutions, bigger is not better. Bigger means more to artificially heat and cool. If it’s built right with the right materials you may not (depends on your local conditions in that part of the world) artificial heating/cooling. Such housing is a pleasure to live in.
I wish the above was the standard, not the cheap quick rubbish that is available now.
Actually it’s not cheap anymore, rather expensive and you get little for your money. That’s another story for another day. I've been in the landscape industry for 35 years plus been through three droughts and now three recessions I have never seen it this bad the last 4 years heavenly hell and an epidemic covid since then we can't find workers are vendors have gone up approximately 25% and our gas prices have doubled the four years of trump made it a lot easier to hire and cover our expenses.

Went on a propane refill run, all the rental equipment was back in the lot, skid steers, lifts, ditch witches etc. 6 months ago the lot was empty. Everything rented out.
