I have the same dryer it will start ok but about 20mins in to the cycle it will stop, but the heating element will keep heating, bad drum motor ? IV stopped using it because it got really hot luckily I was around and noticed it had stopped so went and checked
great video and saved for future repairs ,when needed , and yes those capacitors are nasty stuff, be careful folks! I know from experience ;) ,actually got a "sting" from one while trying to repair my garden water pump,it was "good morning Derek!!!!!"
Ha ha, we’ve all done it! Glad you’re none the worse for wear. I don’t think the capacitors are dangerous as such but as you say, will give you a wake up call! Thanks for saving the video, I’m sure you’ll experience this issue with one of your machines at some point… cheers, Phil
Hey two questions: 1) To discharge the capacitor, what parts of the capacitor do we actually touch to each end of the pliers? 2) My dryer has a slightly different issue: without any clothing I press start and it will work fine. If I put even a couple articles of clothing in, it wont start. Makes a noise maybe will seem to begin spinning for a fraction of a second and then abruptly stops. Any ideas?
Ha ha! Yes! Usually people know that really means: “Try this at your own risk ⚠️ and be careful! And if you aren’t sure, don’t do it!” Doesn’t roll off the tongue quite as easily though….
Thanks for the detailed breakdown, I think the capacitor is my exact problem and now I know how to check it. Great video!
Thanks! Hope replacing it gets your machine going! Cheers, Phil

Had two plastic blocks fall off door where to they go !
Sorry, no blocks fell down when I did it, so I’m not sure where they came from. Somewhere in the door I presume? Cheers, Phil
👍
Don't try this at home? That's the whole point! We want to fix it ourselves.
