Decent job. Thus happened on mine with the edges what i did was wet sand the edges with 1600 and then 2000 sandpaper, better to do it with hand as you can get right on the edge. Then take the maaking tape off and put layer of clear over a wider area to blend it in. Finally once you polish up the whole area with cutting compound it blends it nicely.
There is a difference in the quality of clearcoat. I have a Benz of maroonish metallic color and experimented this past summer with wheels and minor scrates, headlamps, bumpers. It was hard to get the 600, 800 grade wet sandpaper but eventually I just bought supplies off Amazon, Malaysia, the U.K., local buffers and waxes. I used a heat gun to dry the area once glossed over.
Thinking about doing this but been a bit put off as this has always been my experience with paintwork xD I've got some mixed pack of 800, 1200, 1500, 2000 and 2500 grit ordered so hopefully I don't regret it. From my experience I wouldn't have masked the edges as ridges are harder to blend in compared to a bit of over spray.
It could have gone better, but when I went through the base coat there was no coming back without colouring it back up. It was more of an experiment to see if it would be easy to just re-lacquer it, than a genuine attempt at making it disappear.
I would like to point out its the taking part. Also the motivational foot tapping was beautiful. Nice job.
Thanks, that means a lot

@@George-nv1ri I think it happens to most of them, but if I was to do it again I’d follow your method and use 2k lacquer!

bruh youre hilarious ! made my day right with a laugh im doing the same thing a few thousand miles away! cheers!
Brilliant, this is me trying to repair my 17k golf gtd after some wanker has scuffed it and drove off, the further i stand back the better it looks 😂😂
I had a go at fixing my paint on a citreon c1 black, did not go well either
This looks even worse a couple years on 😂
I did have more success in the black c1 when I repaired and painted the sill though.
Good effort! Not bad for a street side rattle can job!
The foot tapping did it for me!!
Here here! More foot tap!

You should see how it looks now, the lacquer that is there seems to have gone dull and even more fucked than it was before 😂
Lol, spend another hour and you wouldn't have been able to tell. right now it's a sore thumb....

The only way another hour would help is if it went dark! 😂
honestly you need a patreon account or something cause i would be crazy enough to buy you a pint!!
Hahah cheers mate
Looks half decent!..
I agree,.. the half I’ve left alone looks decent.
That doesn't actually look as terrible as it could have done. Time for a rattle can matt black paint job?
Either that or I could improve the look by crashing it into a tree? 🤷♀️
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos That would work too.
You can’t sand metallic colors. It will never match.
Tim Hockensmith it was never gonna end well was it lol
U should be on stage 😂
Nah fuck that lol

Sick
