The Donald Duck Meet & Greet. He’s one of the staples of a park vacation. Sure you’re gonna meet Mickey, but he’s nowhere near as fun as his short tempered weird friend. We visited the parks in January, my husband's first trip since 1989. One of the big things he wanted to do was meet Donald, and we got the opportunity at Tusker House. When I mentioned that my husband had been waiting to meet him for 30+ years, Donald tapped his watch and stamped his foot. I laughed so hard. Best costume character, full stop 😂
I said to Donald Duck that I wanted to see him for 28+ years, except he was more shocked than angry.

You're right, Disney Dan. Donald Duck is a lot of fun. In fact, the very first time I met Donald Duck during the Christmas season, he saw my Goofy t-shirt and grabbed and pulled it out of anger. That was the sign that my Disney trip was not going to be ordinary at all. It was going to be amazing, which it was. I caught my whole first interaction with the duck on video.

Seeing Herbie twice in this video makes me feel like we need a Herbie Disney Parks Evolution. I feel Herbie would be interesting since even in the same park, and in the same year they had two Herbie designs wandering around at the same time.
The early Donalds are haunting. My grandpa could do a Donald voice. I miss him. Candycorn Donald is one of the BEST Donalds

I’ve never had a disappointing interaction with Donald. Always 10/10. I’m not sure what’s funnier: his narcissism when you’re wearing Donald merch or his anger when you’re wearing Mickey merch.
I made a video of my very first encounter with Donald Duck. He got mad at my Goofy shirt as if it were a Mickey shirt and grabbed, twisted, and pulled it in a hilarious temper tantrum.
Donald Duck made sure that my vacation trip there was more memorable and greater than any other previous theme park I went to.
One of my favorite Disney memories of all times was when I was with my grandparents at a character dining restaurant (I'm 99.9% sure it was Hollywood and vine) and Donald pointed to my grandfather's Korean War vet hat and clapped, thanking him for his service. I just thought it was so sweet and the fact Donald duck canonically is a vet too made it even cooler
They may have served in two different wars, but one thing is for certain: soldiers are pretty much brothers or sisters in arms.

As a kid the character costumes always fascinated me and it’s very hard to find information on them. It’s really because of the magic that Disney doesn’t give out much info I get it. I’ve gotten information only from people who have worked as Characters till your videos. Thanks DisneyDan.

I have a soft spot for the cartoony Donald Duck costume, they always used promo pics with that costumes whenever they did adverts for Disneyland Paris in the swedish Donald Duck comic books.

At 10:06 that’s what Donald looked like the first time I went to Disneyland in 1991. I was 4 years old and I didn’t enjoyed it at all I was terrified of the costumed characters. Although I didn’t meet Donald to me those huge pupils are straight up uncanny valley territory and would defiantly have terrified me

Love the vids! Former character cast member here. I was actually used to design the Buzz Lightyear costume and was the first Buzz so I’m basically a LIVING LEGEND! But this brings back SO many memories!

Cool!!! Speaking of Donald Duck, any thoughts on bringing back the Duck Family that made appearances throughout Donald’s 50th in 1984? Not to mention bringing other Disney Duck Family members to the parks, especially at Disneyland’s new Toontown.

Donald is my favorite character! I never did like the "Toontown" Donald...he just never quite looked like himself. The current version is the absolute refinement of all of the previous though. I've had several great interactions with Donald in the parks over the years, from playing hide-and-seek on Main Street, to learning to tell him "You're my favorite" in Japanese while at Tokyo Disneyland. His reaction to that was very funny and memorable for me.

on a completely different note, the hotel that the Oregon duck is advertising for (the graduate) is a great hotel chain and I can't recommend them enough

You need to be a sassy performer to be friends with Donald! We were in animal kingdom and my kids (3 and 5 at the time) walked up to Donald , huge smile and autograph books out he slapped them out of their hands and brought them in for a huge hug and it was hysterical! We got a really good pics with him. Then daisy stole my husband and walked down to show him off to Uncle Scrooge lol

Oh wait!!! You forgot the Disney On Ice one!!!! I attended it December 28th 2022 and I made a very high rating (probably the same ratings as Sherine Abdelwahab, my persistent favourite singer) that I hoped to meet every performers behind the mascots, not just the one behind Donald Duck!
It cracks me up so much that Walt Disney, the man who thought of everything, who redesigned the modern trash can for opening day, forgot he'd need costumed characters for opening day 🤣.

Recently my friend and I went to Magic Kingdom and Epcot and I had my small plushie of Donald with me and when he saw it his interactions with it were the cutest thing ever! I got to take lots of amazing polaroids of it and I will cherish the moment always!

Whe I went to Disney world with my fam back in 2019, we went to animal kingdom and did one of the buffets around the switch between breakfast and lunch. Donald ended up walking around at somepoint and came up to our table in which after a bit I think I went to reach for my drink but ended up knocking it over, but it was okay cause Donald took the fault for it :’) He made a little scene out of cleaning it up it was really funny

I'm in the same boat when it comes to doing a Donald voice - I can kind of pull it off, but my grandfather's Donald impression was LEGENDARY, and he didn't even have to do anything special like the tongue thing or the air pocket in the cheeks some people have mentioned in the comments. He was able to do tons of cool little things like that.
