The Pirate Classic of all times. The movie that started our fascination with Pirates and open the way for other great pirate movies. This one still tops them all. A must see for with pirate blood in them.

Movie's a bit slow in the beginning. But it picks up, and even the beginning has much that's worth watching. It's good about halfway through to the end, and it isn't bad at the beginning, just a bit slow. But they didn't still realize quite what they had in Flynn.
I read book, based on this trailer alone, and kind of disappointed that the scene between Captain Blood and Arabella never happened. Will probably still watch movie, since I read the book... was a good read, just not what this trailer seemed to advertise.
The Monmouth rebels were bigots? I suppose by that logic so were the peasants in 1381. The "measures" against them were far harsher than that which followed Perkin Warbek or Lambert Simnels failed risings. James II was a believer in the divine right of Kings. Why the interest in English history?
Which ruler did not punish rebels? Monmouth claimed the throne in the name of bigotry and he lost. Though the measures against the rebels were harsh, there was nothing totalitarian about them - read up on what the word means, or on Hitler/Stalin/Mao/Pol Pot or read 1984 if you don't want to be the idiot!

until the Pirates of the Caribbean, this was and still is the gold standard Pirate movie, Olivia stunning in this one
The best Captain of the Caribbean Nobody will be able to beat him, ERROL is the best one.
Still looks good - amazing. We may or may not like him, but he had something rare.
I love how these old films are a complette mix of theatre and movie. Everybody is always passionately yelling at each other like they are on stage.
