He is right. In the blink of an eye, anything can happen. He and his late wife were a beautiful talented couple, and she kept him going after the accident until they both passed tragically premature. Bless them both. The lesson her is: treasure what you have now as it may disappear tomorrow.❤
He really was Superman. He was the first paraplegic to move his toe, he fought so hard to keep moving and shine his light of fame to study spinal cord injuries, because of his work there are people who have suffered from spinal core injuries who are able to walk. I hope the studies continue and spinal core injuries will be able to be treated better and more people will recover and walk.
He was so honest here and I bet he wasn't smug at all- just grateful that he wasn't in that situation. So strange that he was visiting paraplegics and then he became one.
@@louisemc3680 Yeah. It's doubly tragic because he was making very good progress in regards to regaining movement but the Bush Administration was one of the most anti-science regimes in modern history. Who knows. Had he survived the infection, he might have been able to walk today.
The only thing I feel that doesn’t deserve anything here is Oprah but Christopher is showing the most true empathy I think any human can reach after a real experience like his
He's only snowing it, because it happened to him. He even said prior, that before it occurred, he would say, "thank god that's not me". 💀 How truly empathetic.
I remember when this happened and I thought i would not be able to deal with something like this. But got hurt in an oilfield accident and later 2 neck fusions. People can endure anything. But he was a great man for his positive outlook.
This was one of the saddest ironies. The man who could fly reduced to being unable to move. He really didn’t deserve what happened to him. Just a freak accident.
He said in various interviews post freak accident that he was never paralyzed in his dreams and he believed the body wants to heal itself and be whole, so he truly believed that he would walk again. That’s what made him so motivated to rally for legislation and funding towards stem cell research. What’s better than somebody famous who portrayed Superman to be an advocate for the disabled who don’t have a voice? I think in a way it was fate. Unfortunately, he didn’t live long to get the opportunity to walk again, but he accomplished so much through his foundation. That’s quite a legacy I would say.
Of all the Supermen I’ve seen over the years, he is the only one that exuded an inner strength and beauty that made me believe he is truly Superman. The others were just acting.

If there were Angels on earth ..Christopher was one of them...A great Soul..❤
Christopher Reeve said on Larry King Live he did NOT believe in God. So no, he's not an angel.
😂 😂 😂
You’ll always live forever in our hearts Christopher.
Bless you for all your courage and bravery 🙏

Paraplegics at least full use of their hands. Christopher Reeve was a Quadriplegic (neck down paralysis).

Superman 😢😢😢😢
He brought a lot of joy with his Superman portrayal. I still see Superman when I watch this clip.
The way his voice faded away when saying “I have to admit that” as the breathing machine wasn’t sucking the air from his lungs that moment

I have a great deal of respect & empathy for him.
