What a baller Schweinsteiger was. I remember watching him at the 2006 WC and the 2008 Euros as a winger with a lot of flair. Then he fully transitioned to a box-to-box midfielder at the 2010 WC who ran the midfield. One of my favourite players ever.

Even though he didn't play at his peak when he joined United, always loved seeing him play at Old Trafford 🙌🏽❤️ legend
I saved up my entire adult life to go from Chicago to Old Trafford to see United play at the theater of dreams. Bastian was playing there. He then gets traded to the Chicago fire a few games after I saw him play for United but I had season tickets for the fire so I got to see him again and much closer. What a silky touch and the biggest calves I've ever seen in my life

One of the greatest, most underrated players ever and one of my top 3 all time favorites. I've never seen a Midfield General with so much style and swagger. He would recieve the ball under pressure from multiple sides, take out one man with the first touch and then sauce his man up, all at at walking pace. He could literally do everything on the pitch except clone himself
Basti I doubt you will ever see this but I must say as an American you are the reason I got into football. I will never forget watching the 2010 WC and not knowing a thing but I understood the game instantly by watching you. You will forever be my favorite player and have my infinite gratitude for getting me into football. Der Fussballgott!!!

Bastian , for me he was my favourite player at Bayern during his peak. What a classy strong powerful player. Playing on the wing, then evolved into an energetic box-to-box player. Even when he came to United towards the last few years of his career, his presence in the squad was still awe to watch. A legend of the game. That competitive and classy elegance, he’s a gem for German football. Great to see Rio and Basti together side by side. 👏🙌

My favorite German player. Remember him playing more on the wing in the 2006 World Cup, then the way he developed into a world class Central Midfielder. He had it all from long and short passing, tackling, interceptions, and a leader. Still remember his Man of the Match performance in the World Cup against Argentina. Wish United had signed him a few years before 2015.

When talking about Basti and World Cups, one of his top top performances was when Germany beat Portugal for the 3rd place playoff in the 2006 World Cup. What a game it was. Nostalgic!
When talking about basti for me the moment of him that always comes to mind is the blood pouring down his face when giving his absolute all for that world cup
Both those occasions were great. The game against Portugal showed to everyone how good he would become..

He stopped Messi in 2014 WC Final. He is the reason why Germany won WC in 2014. Defence was Controlled by Lahm. Attack Controlled by Ozil and connecting them was the Midfield controlled by Schweinsteiger and Guarded by Sami Khedira.
With Ribery he's still my favourite player. At his peak he was one of the best midfielders EVER but as he's german he never get the credit he actually deserved. He absolutely DESTROYED England's Midfield with Gerrard and Lampard. Absolute Legend.

Bastian Schweinsteiger was one of the best ever midfielders to have come out of Germany. His ferocious shooting power, vison and overall footballing IQ was exceptional.

Rio Ferdinand is quite an imposing figure, such a beast. Schweinsteiger is a national hero, there is absolutely no doubt. I hope we can rediscover some of our values as a German National Team and put our hearts and souls on the pitch. We got some good players, they now need to form a unit for the upcoming European Cup.

Not a big fan of German football, but Bastian is a player who should always get the utmost respect. A true gentleman on the pitch and off the pitch. His football intelligence was impeccable. Such a goat.

Basti was my first favorite player. He was so versatile and could play anywhere in midfield but his touches, vision and passes were just immense.
Bastian is world class...as is lahm, klose, his generation was simply amazing.
