Yes please do more videos together. I have so much fun and I'm laughing with you too
Yes you too have great Chemistry.
I've been using jars from the store that I've saved. In the pressure canner. They work just fine!
Aussie here. I pressure can with this type of jar all the time. They will stand up to pressure canning without any problems. 🇦🇺
Thank you so much!! That is so good to know!!!
I use spaghetti sauce and condiment jars and they seal. Sometimes you have to use what you got
I’m starting to buy stuff in jars more than cans just to save the jars. I figured that if I’m already buying the product might as well get something long term out of it as well. If I can’t use it for canning I can I’ve it for dry goods. It’s one less thing to throw away or buy.
Classico brand pasta sauces use regular mason jar sizes which is why I use them if I need to buy sauce. The irony that we have all these “go green” programs in the US but don’t say something like “commercial food suppliers must provide reusable standardized storage products just ticks me off! THANKS FOR ALL THE FUN AND EXCELLENT CANNING RECIPE!
I collect them from my family! ❤
My family has the SAME thought!!! Thanks for saying it! Other jars that use regular mouth mason jar size lids:
Mateos gourmet salsa jars from Costco,
Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Mao from Costco although this jar has a plastic lid so you would need a different lid if you wanted to can with it but keep the plastic lid to use whenever you store that jar in the fridge etc,
Spectrum Naturals Organic Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil jar that is close to a pint size jar also fits.
I would check other pint size coconut oil jars cause I believe lots would fit this regular mouth lid size also.
Can water bathing be done on boneless chicken. Should it be precooked, or just let it boil?
@@lindatown1193If you watch part one, you will see they are using boneless, raw chicken.
The lids are called Lug lids. I would buy multiple sizes since the jars vary so much.
Were do u buy lids on fit on reused food jars
Never heard of this kind of canning in these jars i used mine for dry products after finally get smell out of lids
They are also called "grip top lids".
Shared ur last video on this in a group food storage thing and I got lectured over it, they didn’t even bother watching the video. Thankyou so much for teach and showing other ways to can without a pressure canner, pressure canners can be super expensive here in Australia, I’m definitely priced out, but showing this I feel more able to can and build my food storage.
I too suffer from major anxiety and depression. You Tube is the only place I can be myself 🥰🥺 thank you for being so awesome! I have water bathed in reused jars like that and never had a problem. I haven't canned meat in them and it's been like 20 years since I even canned 😂but I do remember canning slaw (mustard slaw) in them...I save all my jars, there's no reason not to reuse them, because we can store things in them, use for leftovers, you name it! Y'all are awesome! Love your show!!!
I reuse these jars over and over and have never had one fail to seal.
yes!!! More videos together. You 2 are hilarious. I love you both. ❤❤❤❤ Just refreshing and fun.
You two are a blessing to watch. And you need to know that we all thank you for sharing your beautiful canning. So don't worry about things so much. God's blessings over you both
Male canner in my household. Thanks so much for showing us how to can in reused store jars. I've been saving them lately just for vaccuum sealing and keeping misc dry goods. I didn't realize that you could find new lids for them. This was very educational and needed.
It’s fun being silly sometimes
We laughed SO much in a good way! Thank you! Our fam watches ALL your videos! You are breaking the mold and waking people up! Can’t express our gratitude enough! Thank you again keep Making it Make!
100% YES!!! I loved cracking up laughing with you two!!! I had so much fun watching you two! ❤️
I pressure can with used jars as well, I never have a problem with the food, you girls are doing a fabulous job 🎉
Please make more videos together. You guys are great. Plus I love new recipes please keep it coming
Yes! The lids snap down!
I saw that comment on the first post, about the lids. It was circumfernce AND how many threads on the screw part.
Eventually the lids that come with the jars will wear out and not seal, but it will be interesting to see how many times they can be reused! Fabulous content!
I don’t trust the dollar store jars. But that’s just me. I use my glass olive jars, Callisto spaghetti sauce or other glass jars, hot sauce jars. Baby jars. Just about any glass jars but I freeze everything. I can traditionally with ball/mason jars and have done some chicken water/boil bath. I’d like to see more grocery store jar canning. Thanks
Steph definitely needs her own yt channel of life in Mongolia lol so much energy
LoL! I've been praying about that and considering it! So encouraging that you said that.
I have quite a few jars saved up, it's so hard to throw them out. I've heard you can do this but have yet to try it. You gave me the courage to WB and have been doing so for a year now sucessfully. Now you have given the confidence to use these, thanks! Enjoyed watching the two of you together so yes do more videos together.
BTW. I'm in Pennsylvania too.
There's a few Bells Markets out your way and two near Philadelphia. All European products. Beautiful decorative jars too in many shapes and sizes. The quality of the products is amazing.
Huge difference which lead me to research the differences.
I have so much on that note alone of whats being put onto our foods.
If you can't make your own ,please pray over your food before you eat it or while you're cooking it.
Bless your food bottom line
God bless you abundantly.
Make it make, healing is yours..😊 Your friend too.
I use my water bath canner and cover it with the lid- it doesn’t lose much water that way and I can turn down the heat. Doing some chicken legs now! The Zimmerman’s says that her Amish family don’t put the water level over the lids - just up to the product line, so I don’t add boiling water unless it gets near that.
Good job! I about spit out my coffee when you confessed my Dear! LOL. However, the jar would have been fine as it was just about to seal - if you had pushed it down, different story. The bulging is normal on the lids as it depends on how much you tighten them - you do not need to reef them on but rather just till resistance. I use them all the time for pressure canning low acid food and never have had one break or pop a lid - just treat the same as all other jars. The only thing I would comment on is to make sure the paper is off all the jars as loose papers may plug the vent. Mind you, I take the labels off the jars regardless. For consistency of product too, I also ensure all jars are about the same volume (pressure canning or water bath). You are correct, It is the diameter you are measuring for the lids, typically in millimeters - the other thing you need to know is whether they are threaded or lugs lids (yours were lug). I think it is important to note that you will know the jars are sealed when the center of the lid is snapped down. One piece lids are gaining popularity in North American canning so I think you will see new ones becoming more readily available. As for finding jars, just put out the word to friends and family and you will be over run...trust me on this! lol. Anyway, just thought I'd share.
Thanks for the tips! 😊
@@2thes2 no worries.
You two made me chuckle so much with the two part video. Thank you!!!
Btw… the lids with the ‘button’ in the middle are lug lids and the answer is diameter 😉
And YES to more duo videos please!!
Ahhh...Lug lids? Thanks for that information..I purchase alot of European products at a local European market. I noticed it's the exact same jars and lids they buy in the stores in Europe for water bath canning .
Was trying to buy more lids.
How nice that their supermarkets sell the canning jars. And I love the seal pop sound when opening the jar more so then the Ball jar lids.
Someone mentioned Classico and jar fits canning? Yes! I will buy them as Extras, for that reason. A while back, mayo/miracle whip had it. Peanut butter had it. I would buy large (3qrt?) Miracle whip, to have for peaches, pears and pickles! And then? Manufacturers decided TO move away from the Standard Size, on purpose. I was heart broken.
I had canning jars bust in pressure canning, that ARE Canning jars!
Always be yourself ❤. Yes, more of you both🎉.
Yes...please do more videos together.. also...I am looking forward to trying this recipe. My aunt and cousin have been canning in these jars for years.
THATS EXACTLY WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THESE JARS, IS THE SEAL.
IN SERBIA THEY SELL THEIR CANNING JARS WITH THE BUTTON LIDS AT THEIR LOCAL SUPERMARKETS. THEY ALSO SELL JUST THE LIDS.
OUR BALL LIDS DO NOT MAKE THAT INCREDIBLE SEAL POP WHEN OPENING.
Someone in the comment section gave the name for those button lids...Lug lids.
Delores? Thanks for the information .
So thrilled you did this video.
💦💙💦
in Serbia too!
I’m a man and I’m learning to can, love your channel and learning from you
Sir, you are gonna be Fine. Folks like those of us who SEE Ahead are Preparing to NOT Panic, NOT Worry bout getting Food. We are Growing Gardens and Raising our OWN Meats. Everything coming out of my Garden as I Harvest is getting CANNED. No worry bout Power Outages and such. I have been Stocking firewood(Maple Branches, Cherry wood, Elm Branches to use if we run out or can't obtain Fuel whether Propane or ⛽. Been storing water, collecting Rain for garden & houseplants. My Bills have DECREASED as I am Outdoors all day🤣😂🤣☺️. Keep CANNING Sir. Show OTHERS How or THEY Maybe the Ones who come LOOKING in Need😒🤫
I stopped using my good jars and use these kinds of jars for blackberry jam. I never got my good jars back!
Absolutely, do some more videos together. You make a good team! I enjoyed watching and learning together.
You can find tne lids at Fillmore container, the name is Lug lids. I reuse the jars with new lids. hope it help.
You can differently tell you 2 are the besties and you feed off each other. That is a great gift (( friendship)) God bless you and your families. East Texas here 😊😂❤
Like Thelma and Louise 😄🤣🤣🤣
I saw those Lug Lids online, you just need the measurement of your jar openings (diameter).
Of course!! 😂😊 Steph is hilarious and brings out your stress free self. 🤣 you two are fantastic together.
Oh yes, can together! You two are having so much fun! It's a party in the kitchen!🎉 Enjoying each other makes the work easier.❤️
I love the tag team canning session you are so lucky to have each other some of the spaghetti sauce jars the canning lids and rings fit
This was such a fun video. I’m like Stephanie just go do it!!
Love that you actually did this and showed results. I’m a jar saver my wife tells me I’m a hoarder, now i have justification.
Confession I couldn’t wait for results had canner out for chicken stock when i got done I filled some random jars aldi pasta sauce, ragu, tostitos cheese dip, with water, pressure canned for 10 minutes @10 lbs pressure all survived and sealed except a ragu didn’t seal was a different type of lid. Tostitos jars are sketchy don’t feel round and can see a seam down the side.
I did not tighten lids just snug making sure lugs engaged no bulging but was only 10 minutes
Also from what I understand if buying lids need diameter and how many lugs on bottom edge
Great content love your channel
Thanks for putting a smile on my face. I enjoyed this canning in odd jars. I'm way too serious most of the time and needed this. I've pressure canned and water bath canned in these types of jars with no problems. I also dry can for dry goods. Warm the lids on something like a heating pad, fill jars with dry goods and place an oxygen absorber in, place lid on. Some folks use the oven without an O2 absorber, but I've never had any luck that way. Thanks again, great video.
I love watching good friends who just rejoice in being together. Y'all make me heart happy. Thank you.❤
Do more do more do more! Ok that was 3 votes. 1 from me and the other two votes for someone too afraid to vote. I love Leilani and the two of you together are awesome! Thank you

Yes do more canning together enjoy it
So much fun to watch you two have so much fun. Love your canning instructions. I have been canning for years, I'm 86, and have only water bath. I'm going to can some meat now.❤❤❤
Oh my goodness, YES!!! And, sorry/not sorry, but watching you two together is waaaaaay better thah Tay-Tay. IMHO.♥
❤❤❤❤. Love you both!!! Keep the tag team efforts going. Made my day.
I just jumped right on in. Well.. sort of. :D Organic chicken was on super sale so I went nuts. I did use a spoon to mix it. LOL Used cowboy candy brine because I couldnt find jalapeno paste and I had to make it make. Used some lime juice too because lime & cilantro are my jam. Lovely ladies! Cant wait for my 3 hours to finish!
You two are too much fun! I'm still laughing. Doing canning together makes the work get done faster. In Hawaii, we say, "Pau Hana." It means work is done or done work. Great video, thanks from Iowa!
You are a great RUclipsr who teaches and inspires. I am brand new to being a youtuber and enjoy your content. I feel that you are authentic and that is what I want my channel to be as well.
Love the energy!!! Please do more videos together and I will decently make that chicken.
PULEASSSSSEEEEEEE do more videos together, your energy and pure joy just radiates!! It's like Im sitting and hanging with you guys....LOVE LOVE it!!! :)
Been waiting for part 2. You two are so funny. Would love more videos of you two together.
I think you are amazing and I love all of your content! I also suffer from anxiety and depression. The struggle is definitely real! I loved this particularly because, I have used old hats, jelly, pickle, salsa, spaghetti sauce, and repurposed them for jams, jellies and salsas etc. I have not tried to can meat in them, but after watching this, I think I may try it! Thank you so much for sharing with us!! Hope your day is blessed!
Thanks for taking a newbie canner to school! Fun class too! ❤️
Your friend is a scream😂 great fun ❤love the video, more please
I in joy your videos I have made and canned the cabbage and beef soup and the potatoes and sausage and kale soup there so good I used the water bath as well I would love to see more water bath videos I have been canning for 20 years and I never liked the pressure canning I love this way
Good job, ladies!
You 2 ladies are fun
Yes! We absolutely want to see more of you two together you have so much fun and just exude joy! Also as a rebel canner myself I love seeing others experiment but in a safe and wise way. I know rebel canning is often looked down on but I do believe that knowledge is power and learning how to expand your horizons while being aware to take care and do it safely is key. Thanks for sharing and never feel upset that you get overwhelmed there are so many of us who also struggle with depression and mental health and we understand and are here for you.
You two are adorable together! Both vids were so fun because you two were having so much fun!!!

Yes ! We would love to see more videos of you two 😊 Thanks for the videos!!! And the recipes 😁♥️♥️
I just found. I love watching you two together, you are so funny and entertaining. I watch part 1 before I watch this part. I didn’t know you could use just regular jars to can with. I watch a bunch of the homestead channels and the ones I watch use the regular canning jars. I have seen some of them can almost complete meals in them. Chicken and they add carrots, onions, garlic, etc and then they just make like mashed potatoes, rice or something fast to go with it. Thanks for sharing.
EXACTLY 😊
Great video you gals have awesome chemistry on screen.
I have never tried canning in anything but canning jars I think I’ll try it eventually but I’m too new yet! I love your clear lid you can keep an eye on things better
